yeahhh not my favorite emhen book, actually my least favorite but it was still good! well the last 30% of the book was great but i don’t know i was just a bit disappointed and i think my expectations were too high. anyways this is a non spoiler review so i’ll keep it short. though this is the first emhen book where in the beginning, i actually did not want them to end up together, i was pleasantly surprised by the end from the character development of hayden. it was nice to see him fall in love and see how his edges became softer. alice in the beginning, kind of seemed unrealistic to me, but as the book progressed, she definitely grew on me as well, and i just love her dynamic with every single character ever she’s very interesting to read in the perspective of. in my opinion a lot less of margaret’s backstory would’ve been preferred but hey we get what we get. overall, good read but i will be reread beach read to fill that void"

"OMG. That ending! I don't even know what to say...I don't know what to believe. Let's start with the beginning of the book. Nila is so hopeful and selfless. I love that she wholeheartedly gave herself back to the enemy in the hopes that her love for Jethro would reign supreme.

I was definitely thrown at the beginning of this book by the emotionless, zombie-like state that Jethro was existing in. My heart was all over the place! I love the progression of this book from beginning to end, how Nila slides right back into life on the Hawk compound, how the simple moments with Kes and Jasmine help build upon the storyline, and how her relationship with Jethro goes from hopeless to hopeful once again.

But these damn debts, and these damn Hawk men! I absolutely hate the father and conniving brother. I can't wait to see the end of their lives play out on these pages. But we shall see how it goes because there's three books left and this book ended on one hell of a cliffhanger. Can my heart survive the story?!"
