The toughest part about reading this book is already knowing in advance that it's not going to end well and Haymitch will have to wait 24 years until the Hunger Games gets put to a stop. I would say this was the same levels of depressing as Mockingjay, but better pacing since you get to see how Haymitch won the 50th Hunger Games/2nd Quarter Quell. I loved the relationships he had/built with his fellow District 12 tributes, specifically Louella (saw as a younger sister) and Maysilee (both didn't care for each other and then form a strong sibling relationship). The deaths felt extra brutal and it was absolutely frustrating to see how the Capitol manipulates/changes the narrative of the games and tributes to the public. Despite how gut-wrenching this was from beginning to end, this was a great book and I'm ranking it 2nd best in series just below Catching Fire. "
