it was amazing
There's immense sense of loss. The world of wonder and innocence that emerges at the start is absolutely tarnished by the truth. It's heartbreaking and what the protag goes through is sickening. Even more so is his attachment to the house; almost a Stockholm syndrome but with a universe rather than a person.
