I don't totally know what I was expecting, but I'm having a laugh and a half.

A little on the dull side.

Some of these essays are alright!

This is a hell of a reading experience!

Even though I knew the change-up was coming, I could have read 300 more pages of that first section.

So, this is better than Cytonic but I'm starting to find the YAness of it all to be a bit much.

Honestly, it’s a pleasure to spend time with Arthur Less again.

I can’t believe it took half the book to get Spenser back in a starfighter, but I’m here for it. Give me the brain candy!

We seem to be hitting a lot of different genres with each book. I kind of miss Starsight's fun spy-like adventure.

I’m going to do my best to read the sequels I’ve got scattered around the house before starting anything new. Who knows if I’ll keep that promise, but here’s a start.

I’m told this veers off from typical plague stories. Here’s hoping!

Delightfully unsettling

LET SPOOKY SEASON BEGIN!

Nothing but spooky stuff from here until the end of October.

A fun intro to KJ Parker, a young Fitz-era story from Hobb, and a terrific story from Ken Liu. Off to a good start!

Strange, but also informative about the world of the Locked Tomb. Can’t wait to see how this wraps up and launches us into next year’s finale.

Muir has a real talent to entirely reorient a narrative around a particular character's psyche while still preserving the traits that make the other two novels in The Locked Tomb series so distinctive.

This book is a riot!

Alternating between bingeing 50 pages a time and trying to savour the end.

Needed to get back into reading short works on my phone.

MAN, SO GOOD

I've been blown away by this series before, but the first half of this novel elevates the previously introduced concepts with thrilling originality. It's a blend of classic high fantasy with ideas usually seen in sci-fi.

Definitely enjoying this more than Song of Achilles and I liked that one quite a bit!

Yeah, this one may take a while.

Charming so far!

I failed in my airplane goal, but did fairly well for a bumpy plane ride.
