Okay so I read this book during my freshman year of high school which was in 2015 and I still remembered reading this book. At the time I was just getting over my middle school crush and I read this book to fill positivity up in my brain, this was when one of the best reads I did and I applied some of the lessons I learned in this book to my own life. It has changed my life and I HIGHLY recommend that you read this book.
Enjoyed the book - lots of good reminders about how changing your own perspective really can help drive solutions to everyday problems. You will never think of the phrase super-fantastic in the same way before this book.
"I can't do anything right" , "I really unlucky", "I'm stupid". Those were some of the things we say aloud about ourselves, but more importantly we keep repeating them when faced with difficulties in life. This book is basically an attitude corrector. After reading this book the above phrases should sound something like this: "I can do anything right, if I really want to do it" , "I'm the luckiest person on this earth" , "I'm a genius". Well, I might have exaggerated the above phrases, but we really should think in a positive way, that's what this book is trying to tell us.
One of greatest things about this book is that it gives you a step-by-step walkthrough to teach whatever concept or new trait it suggests you acquire. Not only that, it gives you real-world examples of people who used to have the same bad/good attitudes and what they did about it. At the end of each chapter of this book, there is a summar called "Attitude-Tune Up" that tells you briefly about what the chapter discussed.
Most importantly, after reading this book , you'll realize that attitude is everything indeed.
You know, I recently finished reading 鈥淎ttitude is Everything鈥. It鈥檚 a book that really makes you think about how your attitude shapes your life. The author, Keith Harrell, shares some great insights and practical strategies. It鈥檚 like he鈥檚 giving you a roadmap to success.
But, I have to be honest, there were parts that felt a bit repetitive. It was like going in circles at times. And while I appreciated the simplicity of the language, I found myself wishing for a bit more depth.
Also, the book sets a high bar. It鈥檚 like Harrell expects you to have all your goals figured out and be ready to charge ahead. It felt a bit intimidating.
But you know what? Despite these issues, I found the book to be quite compelling. It鈥檚 not perfect, but it鈥檚 a book that leaves you with a lot to think about. So, if I were to rate it, I鈥檇 give it a solid three stars. It鈥檚 a book that inspires you to take control of your attitude and, in turn, your life. And isn鈥檛 that what a good book should do?
I was fortunate to see this speaker many years ago, and discovered his book in my "to read" stack. In googling the author to see where he is today, I was saddened to learn he passed away in 2010. The book is a bit dated and examples/stories very simple but concepts good; more recent research on happiness and positivity by other authors bring Harrell's concepts to a new level in today's world so I don't know I would recommend the book to others. Probably more inspiring is to find a YouTube video of the author.
Keith Harrel Attitude is Everything is a tremendous book. I was enveloped from the beginning to the end. Attitude is everything, in whatever we do, in our personal lives and how we behave towards other.
A position attitude is all we need to survive in this chaotic world, according to Harrel, without a positive attitude, we will always be demotivated.
Change is constant and inescapable, and there is nothing we can do to change it, but this book stipulated that we must be ever ready and flexible in order to adapt to change.
He talks about how he had a dream to make the NBA, but was disappointed after working so hard and achieving other smaller goals along the way that made it seem his ultimate goal was within reach. He had to develop the right attitude, picked himself up, decide to set other goals which he achieved and now he is a motivational speaker who is touching life's around by the world today. Great story though.
Indeed, attitude is everything, and everything that people are, are as a result of their attitude. This book has emphasised the essence of having the right attitude in all situations and how to maintain a positive attitude.
It is a guide for anyone wanting to possess a positive attitude towards life. It was a slow read for me, but I enjoyed the journey as reality unfolds through each page.
At first this book seemed dull as it was repeating the same general message from so many others. Why not read Dale Carnegie again? However, his unique stories and perspective added substance to a common message. Highly recommended read.
Wonderful book, highly recommend! It is really inspiring and motivating. I feel like my point of view on life and "attitude" changed drastically. Can't wait to reread it again after some time in the future.
In this book, Keith Harrell discusses life-changing strategies of turning your attitude into action and how important it is to have a positive attitude. Having a positive attitude will help you deal with the day to day activities. A positive attitude helps reduce stress, avoid worries and negative thinking. Whether you have a positive or negative attitude it can make a big difference in your life. Keith Harrell ten steps for turning attitude into action are understanding the power of attitude, taking control of your life, practice self-awareness, re-frame your bad attitude, find your purpose and passion, be pre-active, discover how you motivate yourself, build supportive relationships, see change as an opportunity and leave a lasting legacy. He goes into detail and gives you pointers on how to master each step. My favorite parts of the book are when he introduces the subconscious mind and how it works and how the power of our words leave a lasting impression and how gratitude and forgiveness are the best antidotes for a negative attitude. It is true that no matter what bad has happened to us (you) that may cause a bad attitude it doesn鈥檛 have to live within you. You have a choice (and it is solely yours) to turn a negative attitude into something good. It鈥檚 all about choices.
I really liked the stories shared in the book. Though there were many repeated ones, still went great. Sometimes we have to hear things a couple of times to remember. I highly recommend it.
I was read this book because it was recommended to me, and it's like gum or a breath mint: if someone offers it to you, there's a reason and you should take it. So I read it (audio book via audible actually) and it was worth reading. There's some real tales of hardship out there in this world, and as long as you remind yourself of this you can keep perspective and realize that things really aren't all that bad. Actually they're pretty great. So if you convey this to others, it's a self-fulfilling thing, what goes around comes around. So if you think you might need some atitude tuning, check out this book. It's only a hundred pages or so, and the audible version is pretty good (read by the author, who is a professional speaker.)
"Challenges- life is full of them; without them, how would you know and realize the awesome power that lives within you." - Keith Harrell. Another great inspirational and motivational book, I personally believe that you can never have enough of such books, we all need constant reminders that we have the power to achieve our dreams, we all need to be reminded of how our way of thinking can make significant changes in our lives. Keith is without a doubt a great motivational speaker, and in this book he gives great advice on how simple changes in ones attitude can make a big difference. Very inspiring, motivating and enlightening.
I liked Keith's enthusiasm as he shares this story about how to got to his current level of success. It's a little more autobiographical than I like. I love to hear stories and I'm also looking for high content.
As a classic book on gratitude, I included it in the recommended reading section of my book which can be found here:
Though the book is long-winded at times, it is still super-fantastic for me!
