A solid sense of self-worth is the single most important factor in determining our happiness in life and our success in work and relationships. With it, virtually all things are possible. Without it, even victories can feel like defeats. That's why raising low self-esteem is an essential part of the healing process for those who are recovering from addictions and dependencies -- and for anyone who still feels the pain of childhood wounds or other hurts.
This enlightening book presents a meditation for every day of the year, complete with an inspirational quote and a thought-for-the-day. It addresses such subjects as: Why self-esteem seems so fragile; how to define ourselves in terms of our own standards and values; why attitude is so important when we make mistakes; the difference between conceit and self-approval; how self-doubt triggers unattractive behaviors; and how self-esteem blooms when we have a sense of purpose in life.

If you don't mind a little "Christian" beliefs (non-hatefilled) or can change the word God around to be "Powers that Be" then you may like this book. Honestly, I do like it, and enjoy being able to read a few pages a day. It really has helped me through a lot lately. :) A book I keep rereading again and again.
The book was totally reasonable until the "may 6" page where the author nonchalantly used a Hitler quote as if he was an inspirational figure with a positive perspective?????? totally threw me off, thought I was delusional at first when I saw his name being used like that. WTF????? That is absolutely horrid. Shame on the author for lightly quoting a monster as if he was an inspirational guru. Not the first time that Christianity and antisemitism somehow go hand in hand. Honestly scary. Shame, shame, shame.
Another daily devotional book put out by Hazelton for those who struggle with addiction or co-dependency, this resource focuses on assisting those who struggle with low self-esteem. Like all such resources, some days speak louder or more clearly than others. Yet there were many gems in these pages. I would certainly recommend this as a wonderful tool to start each day with reflection, and to strengthen the spirit on our daily journey.
Daily mediations for healing and building self esteem. good read thought provoking entries in a calendar format. leaving you with one per day to think about and use in your own way.
