The Godhunter #10

Into the Void

Rate this book
The Void, the source of all souls, is a place very few gods remember anymore. It's also the one place Vervain Lavine needs to find if she wants to bring Odin back to life. There's only one god who can help her, a god who not only remembers the Void but has been there himself. Lucifer Morningstar, Satan, Beelzebub, the Devil, yeah that guy. He also happens to be her boyfriend's father.
Maybe getting Odin back won't be so hard after all.
Sure, no problem, if only the Godhunter's life wasn't going to Hell in a handbasket. First she ends up on an archangel watch list, then mermaids start washing up with beached whales, and finally some idiot god tries to start a zombie apocalypse. Vervain barely has time to breathe, how will she ever make it into the Void?

Into the Void is part of a series split. It can be read alone or together with Out of the Darkness. It features a split cover which can be placed beside Out of the Darkness to create a full picture.

Amy Sumida is the Internationally Acclaimed author of the Award-Winning Godhunter Series, the fantasy paranormal Twilight Court Series, the Beyond the Godhunter Series, the music-oriented paranormal Spellsinger Series, the superhero Spectra Series, and several short stories. Her books have been translated into several languages, have won numerous awards, and are bestsellers. She believes in empowering women through her writing as well as providing everyone with a great escape from reality. Her stories are full of strong women and hot gods, shapeshifters, vampires, dragons, fairies, gargoyles... pretty much any type of supernatural, breathtakingly gorgeous man you can think of. Because why have normal when you could have paranormal?
Born and raised in Hawaii, Amy made a perilous journey across the ocean with six cats to settle in the beautiful state of Oregon which reminds her a lot of Hawaii but without the cockroaches or evil sand. When she isn't trying to type fast enough to get down everything the voices in her head are saying while her kitties try to sabotage her with cuteness, she enjoys painting on canvases, walls, and anything else that will sit still long enough for the paint to dry. She prefers antiques to modern furniture, tea to coffee, night to day, and Tom Hardy to Tom Hiddleston. No; Tom Hiddleston to Tom Hardy. No, wait... Tom Hardy and Tom Hiddleston to Tom Cruise. Yes, that's it.

Into the Void and Out of the Darkness are books 10 and 11 of the Godhunter series; these two books are set in the same timelines (alternating between events in the god/human realm and the faerie realm) and they share two separate-yet-entwined sub-plots. The author suggests when you see the >o< symbol, the reader alternates between the two books--since I did this, I am doing a shared review for the two books.

I recommend readers also purchase both books and alternate between them to get the full enjoyment of the two stories. Great plot lines, I actually enjoyed both stories equally and I love how the author brings together clues dropped in prior books. Well done.

3.5 cliffhanger ending.

FYI I toggled between books 10 & 11 as the author recommended but I rated (to the best of my ability) according to the story within each book.

I can't say enough good things about this series. Again we have a strong female heroine that is fun and witty and completely relatable with a very unique story line. I also recommend that you follow the author recommendation and read this book along with it's partner Out of Darkness. It makes the story line flows much more cohesively. I would highly recommend this book and the series to anyone as this storyline is unique , creative and very fun. The characters are well written and smart. the worlds she has created is one to be jealous of and the plot is wells well thought out with twist and turns to enjoy and make your say "Ah Ha". Thank you Amy I will continue to read all you publish.

Into the Void

Book 10 in the Godhunter series is full of mystery, love, action and suspense. Vervain is back, she's determined to find a way to get Odin's soul out of the Void. She is coming into her own using her powers, learning how to manage her men. This book was able to get me all hyped up for the next one. She's quickly becoming a favorite.

And she did it

Well she entered and exited the void, took care of a zombie apocalypse, Vervain and the God squad can do it all. Loved the time with Trevor and I want to live in Pride Palace, it sounds amazing.

June 2022 update: I jumped back and forth during the first read through but this time I'm reading this story and the next book in chronological order. There aren't as many jumps in this story (I think 3) so it doesn't feel like your missing out on any of the little details once Vervain comes back, like a few of the jumps in the previous books. Not missing out but Amy alludes to stuff having happened at times and if your not jumping back and forth you may forget what it was that happens in the other realm. Maybe that's just me. Not a filler book, this story sets up the next few books and probably drops some spoilery foreshadowing if I remember right but overall the big drama wasn't just one thing but two things so their impact couldn't be drawn out as much. The story read faster since it wasnt bogged down with too many details to make it longer. I think it's still the same length as most of her books, it just reads faster cuz of the multiple problems.

This series has quickly become one of my favorites. Since books ten and eleven are best read in tandem, and I don't want to reveal any spoilers, I will just say that these two books definitely reach into the heart of Vervain. She has to deal with her growing desire for family, her new fey tendencies, and the loss of her husband. I love this series, and will definitely read more as they are released.

Into the Void begins with Vervain doing her best to find away to get Oden back from the Void. She's ignoring warnings thought could possible be from him, and she's bound and determined to get him back even if she has to go to Hell to do it.

This book was great! It was funny and sad, and I loved how dedicated Vervain was to getting back Oden. That was truly amazing, and I can't wait to find out more about what happens next!

The Angel and heaven action was fantastic, but it still feel like the god realm has lost its magic. It’s not as wow as it used to be. I want more swoon, more wow, more annotating worthy moments.
