HORIKOSHI Kouhei Name (in native language): Associated Names: Kouhei Horikoshi
Born 1986 in the prefecture Aichi, Horikoshi first attracted attention in the second half of 2006 when he entered Shueisha's 72th Tezuka Award for Newcomers with his one shot "Nukegara" and made it to the final six, where he gained himself an "Honorable Mention". Various short stories in Shueisha's Akamaru JUMP followed over the years until he published his one shot "Oumagadoki Doubutsuen" in issue #2/2010 of Weekly Shounen JUMP.
Kouhei Horikoshi is a graduate of Nagoya University of Arts. He was previously an assistant to TANAKA Yasuki.
The gist of this story is how the revived Bakugo finished All for One thanks to All Might’s help. Bakugo didn’t just plummet All for One, but he also got help from Izuku.
There is so much more on this volume particularly the origins of One for All and All for One. The backstories of Yoichi, All for One, Kudo, and Bruce are also explored. How intriguing!
We also got a glimpse of Aoyama and Hagakure here. It’s great to see them fighting for the cause.
Let us not also forget Stain’s last stand to save All Might! What a hero!! ?

The end of an era for sur! I love it and taught it finally give Bakugo the hero place he deserved. I also think that that drawing of the action scene are a bit all over the places since a couples of- volumes, almost messy, and sometime it makes it hard to truly see what is happening. Still a big fan of the series and curious to see where it will go after that.
Are we done yet? I mean there is a bit of worldbuilding going on that should have already been covered. Instead the fight that has been going on for - well forever - takes a few breaks for more exposition. It is also really shitty to kill off (apparently) some popular heroes all but off page. It is not bad here but could be better.

I like that Kohei doesn’t care about our emotions and how badly I’m hurt from the way he is distorting my favorite characters in the series ?… loving the way I’m being tortured ?
Okay, so we're DEFINITELY ramping up towards the end here. We've done a few overviews of the different areas of battle, and seen how some of them have ended, Aoyama has managed to become a hero just like he wanted (although with some surprise help!), All Might and AFO's battle has ended (for better or worse), Bakugo is BACK IN THE GAME, BABY, and it seems that we're going to be focused on one last battle... that of Izuku and Shigaraki.
Chapter notes below for personal reference: (potentially spoiler heavy)
Completion of AFO battle and my continued stress and emotional roller coaster.
Unsurprisingly the mass stress only continues. Aoyama actually gets a teeny redemption moment after being the UA traitor. He’s leveled up his gifted tummy laser quirk and refracts it off hagakare (invisible girl) to defeat the villain they’re up against. I love that he speaks of Deku and his other classmates inspiring him to not give up and always strive to be a hero, so I’m pleased he had a moment.
The bulk of this though is the battle against AFO. We see All Might has created this transformers esk mech suit to try and fight still, but what’s even cuter is he’s incorporated aspects of his students powers. It’s so precious to see how these kids have inspired him just as he’s been a hero for them. But of course he’s just a quirkless man now and while he very much has the heart of a hero, that doesn’t hold up against actual super powers and it does NOT look good for a moment. We even flash to Nana, his mentor’s, death and sir night eye warning All Might that if he continued down this path he would die gruesomely. And it straight up looks like AFO is going to rip him in two for a moment. Interestingly AFO wishes to warp shiggy to him so they can fully combine, but shiggy rejects which honestly I think plays a part in AFO’s demise, that of course and my angel.
So Deku is quite obviously a bit busy fighting shiggy, but sees All Might about to get murdered when who shows up, but love of my life, Bakugo!!! They do this incredible boomerang technique with deku’s gearshift quirk which gets Bakugo to All Might in time saving his ass. It even cuts to when Bakugo was DEVASTATED believing Kamino Ward and All Might losing his powers was his fault since he got kidnapped, so for him to finally save him and pay him back is so fucking satisfying! Also All Might gives Bakugo whatever’s left of his mech suit as support saying “he wishes he could give him more” and Bakugo gives the purest, sweetest smile I’ve ever seen my baby do and UGH how I wept!! Edgeshot was successful in repairing Bakugo’s injuries (tho obviously he’s still not 100% and probs at his own peril) but I LOVED that he said it was Bakugo’s own power that restarted his heart by a small explosion and giving him full credit, ugh, how I love him omfg.
So AFO’s retention abilities have yet to cease where now he’s a straight up child fighting. He views Bakugo’s one quirk as unworthy of his time, but naturally my boy will not be overlooked and AGAIN it’s so insanely satisfying that my boy is the one to bring down this fucker after he swore to do so in revenge after being kidnapped. I love that he battles with a smile, just like All Might, and I SOBBED when he referred to himself as “Kaachan”, the only time I’ve EVER seen him claim Deku’s name for him as an identity, omfg I could not be more proud!!!! The way he levels up his ability too is so fucking cool, able to leave droplets of sweat behind to late activate explosions etc, ugh he’s so cool.
Also interestingly, ive said from the MOMENT we saw all of the OFA vestiges that the 2nd wielder looks eerily like Bakugo and AFO also is disturbed by the resemblance he even wonders if Bakugo is somehow a distant relative. Now that isn’t confirmed, but how fucking cool would that be?! For one, it can’t be a coincidence that Horikoshi chose to make them almost identical. But whether they are or no, the similarities are also SO fucking cool. For one, the 2nd wielder is the entire reason OFA exists. If he didn’t reach his hand out in trust and empathy to AFO’s bro instead of killing him, it never would’ve been passed on and it mirror’s Deku consistently reaching a hand out to any in need but especially Bakugo. I love that the 2nd pisses AFO off more than anyone and for Bakugo to remind him of such AND to bring about his end?! Chef’s fucking kiss. Straight up AFO regenerates so much that he’s a legit BABY that Bakugo blogs have to help and then regenerates to a fetus and is destroyed, it’s bonkers but so fucking cool. Bakugo is EXHAUSTED half to hell and basically passed out, so I’m just gonna pretend he’s totally fine and needs a break because I can’t accept anything else. The only sad thing? There’s a moment of the quirks trapped inside AFO being all “it’d be a cool bonus if the powers returned to their OG users once he died, but that’s not how it works” showing a vestige of Hawks dissipating and I am NOT ok with that!! Imma pretend that maybe someone like Eri can rewind and bring back his quirk??? Because that is just too fucking sad otherwise.
As if this shit wasn’t stressful enough, cut to shiggy somehow able to get closer to Deku and has apparently been able to steal some of OFA’s quirks?!? Like apparently danger sense is gone?! NO FUCKING BUENO!!! So yeah…great…I’m exhausted. Onto torturing myself more with the online releases I guess?? Oof.
Winding down to the end.... how will the final fights play out?
