"People spend their whole lives trying to figure out how to be happy. They read books, take classes, make money, achieve and sometimes they still never find it. That's because their biggest problem is often their biomechanics. They don't smile, they keep their body language closed, and they hardly move. It's impossible to feel good in that physical form"

The book is clearly linked to what has been demonstrated on the YouTube Channel Charisma On Command, which was originally where I got hooked on.

The most important things I learned from this book are the convictions that build your inner confidence.

I don't like self help books
This one was slightly better than the rest I read in this genre.
All of the mentioned advice and tips and tricks are based on things we already guessed but we needed confirmation of, or actually the right wording to comprehend it.
I liked it, although I'm yet to do the exercises

The books gives you general areas linked to charisma as well as actionable advice in order to raise your awareness and change your behaviour towards said areas. I particularly enjoyed the exercises at the end of the book and examples of people excelling in each area.

This is the book for teenagers with low self-esteem, but it's great anyways because it pushes you to practice some of these tools :-)
Thanks Charlie

Charlie Houpert approaches charisma systematically, breaking it down into applicable sub-components. Here is the formula he offers:

Charisma = Conviction + Energy + Presentation

Abundant in examples and practical advice.

Fantastic, actionable advice!

At first, I was skeptical that this book would talk about anything I didn’t already know, but I was quite wrong. The book is very well organized and has a great 30 day exercise at the end.

I wanted to be the guy who was slapping hands with people as he crossed the squad. I wanted to be invited to parties and have people be disappointed when I couldn’t come. I wanted to be the man who lit up a room.

I think he just spelled out my need to read this book in these few lines accurately.

This book promised a lot in its introduction. I had high hopes from it because I have always wanted to be like 'that friend' from a group who everyone likes and listens to. Of course, who wouldn't want to be someone who everyone admires and who is being listened to by everyone instead of being ignored? For that, this book works as a good compact and practical advice for everyone who's looking forward to upgrade their social behaviour in order to become magnetic and have social intelligence. Even if you don't want to impress someone, or be the life of a party, I think such behavioural cues and habits ought to be practiced by everyone as they will make you a good person in society, unless you're a sociopath.

The book is easy to read, packed with interesting examples from real life celebrities and personalities, and in the end has a 30 day action plan which I found to be fun, if not effective enough to make you charismatic in just 30 days. I won't say that I've instantly developed my charisma just by reading this book over the span of a month but it did teach me some things which I'm glad about.

However, this book also had a few things that I need to address since it was not all good and helpful. The book didn’t seem like it was edited. There were a lot of grammatical errors. Although, it didn't hinder my experience of reading it by a greater extent because I liked how this guy narrated whatever he had to say. But yeah, it was noticeable and at times, unpleasant.

Also, there were a few things that Charlie finds charismatic which I don't. For example, I don't like someone who's loud. Even if he's not literally shouting on the top of his lungs, I'll still won't find them attractive. Also, how am I supposed to have a natural deep voice when I'm a woman who naturally has a high-pitched voice? And I think this book had a few things that won't apply to a woman for her to be 'conventionally' charismatic.
Is it just me or do others also don't like it when someone starts telling you your 'purpose of life' on the first day that you meet? I mean it's okay if you are doing something on a grand scale which needs you to tell others about your goals otherwise I don't think that it's something to shout about to literally everyone you meet. Or perhaps it could be just me since I like to keep such things private. I don't know I'm really troubled here.
This book neither mentioned if these tips don't apply to woman nor that they do. So, I started reading with no expectations but by the end of it, I can see that this book is targeted to its male audience and a few things here are not considered 'charismatic' for women by others. I'm puzzled. Should I follow those tips which I also find to be charismatic or should I follow this person blindly who doesn't seem reliable enough.

All in all, I think this was quite good to be read in order to improve your personality and social behaviour.

Quite a nice book, author analyses well known characters to demonstrate how to be charismatic. Most memorable was Bill Clinton who makes everyone he briefly meets feel like they are the only person in the room. To do this he holds eye contact when meeting someone, gives them undivided attention, praises them to others in the room, then walks away and looks back briefly at that person catching another glimpse and making more eye contact, this makes them feel very special.

Use of good posture, speaking about positive things, acting with integrity and getting things done are also highlighted throughout.

I rated it a 5 for a young person before a job interview. It is a good graduation gift. As a older person it was a 4 short bits, specific examples, and a refresher course...the part that interested me was I read the Making of Behavior Economics Misbehaving at the same time and chuckled while it referenced economic professors. No page numbers was an awful mistake.

This book was recommended to me by a good friend. As many of the review on this website for this book, I can agree that this book tells/helps you raise your awareness and change in behaviour. The use of Bill Clinton, Will Smith and Oprah's charisma are used as examples and they portray themselves in public.

I've given this book 3.5/5

If you know, there is a YouTube channel called "Charisma on Command", so, well, this book is just a summary of all these videos. Language is simple and understandable (even if English is not your mother tongue), stories are interesting, and most importantly, advices are really useful.

P.S. in the end, there was a 30-day action plan, however, I was too lazy to do all things during a month...

This is quite an American view of charisma it feels like the book essentially wants you to be the main character in an American tv show.

Some of the anecdotes feel a bit extreme (e.g. getting a promotion 2 months after reading the book)

I like the analytical approach to charisma and treating it as a learnable skill.

The exercises are fun.

Nice book, it‘s easy to read and at first I thought it was too superficial, but the end chapters are helpful... only reading this book is definetely not enough for working on your charisma but i guess you will know a bit more than before...
