It started with unspoken animosity. The bitter bite of jealousy. And now its full blown hate.

It was during my first football game that I first felt the first chill of hate. I looked it right in the eyes and felt its sticky tentacles reach out for me. I’d never experienced something so cold and empty before.

The effect of that look lingered, like an unspoken promise, long after it was gone.

Becoming a couple becoming the other half of a campus celebrity wasn’t easy. I let down walls guarding my heart and he looked past my glasses and accident prone tendencies. Romeo and I are an unlikely match, a #nerd and a jock. But we made it.

And we’re happy.

Zach doesn’t want us to be happy. He wants Romeo to pay for getting him kicked out of Omega and for the night he spent in jail. He’s going to use anything and everything he can to get his revenge. Including me.

As the weather on campus grows cold and the days become dark, revenge becomes the center of someone’s life and the happiness Romeo and I worked so hard for is threatened.

I can’t help but worry that our love is going to be overshadowed by hate.

”Becoming a couple becoming the other half of a campus celebrity wasn’t easy.

description

This second installment is a continuation of book one of this series. This wasn’t predictable and was very original so kudos to the author. In fact one idea that the author utilizes in regards to a school paper was very clever.

Romeo and Rimmel remain a tight couple and thankfully never break up. They are handling Romeo’s mother, school schedules, NFL draft, new clothing options, restraining orders, and yes that whacked out frat boy, Zach.

”I can’t help but worry that our love is going to be overshadowed by hate.

I really enjoyed the book until that action packed ending.

”Seriously. We were being attacked with a lawnmower. If I wasn’t scared, I’d laugh.

description

I’m still trying to picture how the final events played out and all I can come up with

description

Overall, this was a very good second installment up until the heroine gets tied to a goal post. (I had to down grade 1.2 star for that scene.) The author also drops an interesting bomb about Rimmel’s family. Things look shaky for these two going forward, not in the relationship area but in their chosen careers. I’m going to try and bipass the events on the football field and happily go forward in the series.

”Anything is possible.

I was into her and it was creating some kind of war inside me. A war between the guy I was and the guy everyone wanted me to be. It never used to be a competition. I was happy to be that guy. The player, the football star, the charmer. I was those things. But I was more.

#Hater is book 2 in the Hashtag series and starts off right where #Nerd takes off. Romeo and Rimmel are together and happy. Rimmel has come of out her shell some- she hasn’t made any huge changes, but she is a little more confident and changes her style a bit but she’s still that lovable #nerd we loved in the first book. And Romeo is still the same charming, sweet and swoony guy. He makes it clear to anyone and everyone in Alpha U that Rimmel is his girl and nothing will change that.

As the story goes on, you get to see their relationship grow. Then someone out for revenge has to throw a wrench in it. Zach from the first book is out to get Romeo and he will do anything to achieve that goal. And what better way to hurt him then to go after the girl he loves?

#Hater had one of those endings that makes you want to start the next book asap- thank goodness it’s out!

This second book starts right after the end of the first. Romeo and Rimmel are happy together and Romeo is making sure everyone knows that she’s his girl, leaving no doubts about the seriousness of their relationship.
However Zach didn’t get the memo, and with his mind set on revenge he wants to after Romeo because he believes he’s the reason he got kicked out of the fraternity. And what better way to get his revenge than to go after the girl Romeo made very clear he loves?

I loved this second book almost as much as the first. These books are well in this way of becoming one of my favorite NA series ever. The couple is great, full of chemistry and I literally found myself smiling through the majority of the pages.
Sweet, funny, emotional and heartwarming, with an addictive and flowy writing style, I couldn’t simply put it down and read it in one sitting.
If you’re a fan of New Adult, you really need to start this series.

Characters Development: I simply loved Romeo and Rimmel in this book. They have to be one of the cutest couples ever. I love how Romeo is so possessive of Rimmel and how she comes out of her shell when they are together. Romeo is still swoon worthy and Rimmel is still adorably clumsy, honest and great. I loved Braeden and Ivy was nice, although I’m still on the fence about Missy. Zach is a f*cking psycho, and I don’t think this was still the end of him.

Firstly, this ends on a cliffhanger.

Secondly, this story isn’t a standalone; it is a direct continuation of the events from , picking back up shortly after winter break and following Romeo and Rimmel as they head back to college for a new semester. Their relationship is a bit more established now and only continues to grow stronger, especially in the face of some escalating threats from psycho-douche Zach from book one.

I continue to find Hebert’s writing style and her story to be ridiculously moreish, and with the added suspense elements surrounding Zach and his never-ending and increasingly dangerous vendetta against Romeo, and subsequently Rimmel, I believe I may have even enjoyed this one more than its predecessor, which I honestly wasn’t expecting.

I love how Romeo and Rimmel stood by each other, even as increasingly crazy shit was thrown their way by outside parties. They never let anyone mess with them as a couple and they were each other’s strongest and most trusted allies in all things. I love how unbreakable they are together. As long as that’s a running relationship theme throughout the series then we’ll continue to get along just fine.

For a time there, I thought I’d start warming to Romeo’s mother, who was rude and standoffish to Rimmel in book one. There were some moments here where she seemed to be coming around and even shared a few great scenes with Rimmel. But it was all too good to last and by the end of the book she was showing her true colors again. What irked me the most was that she kept claiming that her behaviour towards Rimmel was just in the best interest of her baby boy Romeo, but that didn’t cut it for me. What I saw was a crazy bitch disguising herself as an over-protective parent. The whole “you’re not a parent, you wouldn’t understand thing simply doesn’t fly. Crazy is as crazy does, and you, bitch, are off your rocker!

Speaking of people who are off their rockers, what the fuck is up with this Zach guy!? This guy is the big bad of the series, and although I love a bit of rivalry and drama in my college reads, his level of psychosis is just too intense. I mean, several of his actions here warrant criminal charges, yet no one in authority seems to be doing a thing (yet) about getting this fucker off campus and preferably in a jail cell. A pissy restraining order ain’t gonna cut it! The authorities and I don’t mean the stupid ass campus administration need to be updated on this mental case and stat, before my blood pressure gets too high. I just hate this psycho so hard!

The drama in this story really got me worked up and I was almost hulk-smashing over the shit that went down at the end there. I’m choosing to view this strong emotional reaction as a good thing because Hebert was obviously able to get me fully immersed in the story and truly care for Romeo and Rimmel’s well-being, regardless of how angry I was at what was happening to them. Clearly, they still have a shit-ton to overcome in order to achieve their true HEA, and the reveals at the very end left me chomping at the bit for more, but thankfully I’m enjoying this rollercoaster ride and I imagine I will continue to do so as I read on.

P.S. I’m in fictional love with Romeo's bestie Braeden and cannot wait to get to his story!! NEED IT NOW!

4.5 Haters gonna Hate Stars

I think I love #Hater more than #Nerd and I really liked #Nerd.

I just can’t get over Romeo and Rimmel!!!

I will be honest, I was a little apprehensive in reading #Hater. How many second books are good when the story continues the couple (after they get together). Very few. Usually the author separates them or creates a crazy issue that can be solved with simple communication. BUT Cambria didn’t do that.

Cambria delivered and I am so thankful for that. She didn’t create stupid issues. She didn’t make me want to pull out my hair or give me crazy angst (I’m learning to like angst, but it’s just not my cup of tea).

#Hater continues Romeo and Rimmel’s story. This book picks up right where #Nerd left off. Romeo and Rimmel are together, yay! But Zach isn’t going to go away easily.

The beginning is SUPER cute because Rimmel is slowly trying to get comfortable being Romeo’s girlfriend. I like that she tries a little harder being girly (but without losing herself). I also like how she is proud to be Romeo’s girlfriend and stands up for herself (just a tiny bit more).

I also LOVE reading the second characters. I love Romeo’s best friend, but I’m starting to like Rimmel’s roommate and cross fingers that she gets a book too!

Of course we can’t forget Zach. He’s a villain I love to hate. I love nasty villains and the crazier the better in my opinion. I never know what he’s going to do and I never know how Zach and Rimmel is going to react. It adds a nice mild tension to the book.

What I love so much about #Hater is the fact that the couple don’t go against each other. It’s more about the couple verse the world. I simply love these books. I gobble them up like fudge cake, on my birthday or during that time of the month

Overall, I love this series. I love how cute it is. I love the characters. I love that I’m not even tired of the characters and I’m ready for the next book! I just simply love it. If you are a fan of #Nerd, you will not be disappointed with this one.

⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱*Didn't do it for me*⋰⋱⋰⋱⋰⋱

My title (^^) for the review is pretty much saying it all. I just didn't feel the book. Sure it had its cute moments between the couple, but even though there was some action, things were predictable and boring. I hadn't actually expected much for it, as book one was a bust for me. The second book in the series centers around Roman ‘Romeo Anderson (almost 20) and Rimmel Hudson (almost 19), who both were the main couple of book one. I thought I'd relate more to Rimmel, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. I'm not connection with her at all. Romeo's still hot though. However, it's not enough to make the book/series enjoyable for me.
I was into her and it was creating some kind of war inside me. A war between the guy I was and the guy everyone wanted me to be. It never used to be a competition. I was happy to be that guy. The player, the football star, the charmer. I was those things. But I was more.

Quick basic facts:
Genre: - (New Adult) Contemporary Romance.
Series: - Series, Book Two.
Love triangle? -
Cheating? -
HEA? -
Favorite character? - Roman ‘Romeo Anderson.
Would I read more by this author/or of series? - Yes.
Would I recommend this book/series? - Not sure
Will I read this again in the future? - No.
Rating - 2 stars.

After rereading #Nerd, I immediately started my reread of this book. I wanted and needed more Romeo and Rimmel. I love love love love them! They are a solid, strong, sweet, hot, beautiful and perfect couple. They are loyal to each other. They will always believe each other and they support each other to chase their dream. They grow, individually and as a couple.

This is book two in this series and it stars the same couple as book 1. This is not a stand alone, you need to read book 1 first.

Rimmel and Romeo are very happy with their relationship, but haters gonna hate

Zach was definitely one major psycho.

I myself liked this book better than the first, because there was a lot more romance, steam and suspence.

This one ends on a bit of a cliffhanger so I will be jumping right into book 3.

side note: these blurbs are so dodgy, with lines like

Probably best not to ostracise over 60% of the world, lmao what a stupid line.

Holy hell I am dying, the drama in this is completely unrealistic and hilarious. But I am here for it. I didn’t like the first book in the series that much (it was kind of a guilty pleasure), but I enjoyed this one marginally better.

Romeo is a very alpha and overprotective boyfriend, he’s often compared to a bodyguard and it wouldn’t be far off. Their relationship is mostly governed by what Romeo thinks is best (and with the best intentions) and Rimmel rarely stood up for herself.

This was a very damsel in distress romance, much more than the first as Rimmel is targeted by another student to get back at Romeo, a character who was introduced in the first book and had a rather big fall from grace. It was all a little ridiculous but oddly entertaining. There was computer hacking, threats, bruises, fist fights and even kidnapping.

And. I. Loved. It.

Totally not class A writing and obvious plot lines, but it was still written well enough and the side characters that fill the book are enjoyable and add some more dimension to the story.

I thought the first book ended really well, you could happily stop reading it and feel satisfied. This book on the other hand ends with both character’s future careers on the line and a possible murderer in the family. Um so yeah, I am going to be continuing on and I wouldn’t be surprised if that means I finish the first three books all in one day.

21/06/17 edit: I also read all three books in one day and that shows how strangely addictive they were. I knew they were over-dramatized and the plot was annoying but I did not care.

Well, once again, everything is OTT in this next installment. Rimmel and Roman just can't catch a break. And why the hell is Zach STILL around and able to do the things he does? Oh, and Roman's mom...I wanted to bitch slap that woman. Just when I was starting to warm up to her and think she might be coming around she pulls a total bitch move.

And, have I mentioned I HATE cliffhangers? If I had read this book when it was first released, I'd be seriously pissed off. It just so happens, I have the next one...moving on.

This book is so beautiful, funny, sexy and adorable! Following the lives of Romeo & Rimmel again is a pure joy for me! These two could warm everybody's heart! These true feelings felt so real to me! I felt like they were my friends and I am just sitting right beside them and enjoy their relatioship... CREEPY STALKER MUCH??? Nahhhh...

...unable to speak. I never thought this would happen to me. I never thought I would love someone so much. So fast.

This book about ( one of my fave couples!) Romeo & Rimmel continue to follows their lives. The lives of THE BEST quarterback and the THE SMARTEST girl in Alpha U. It shows how much their feelings develop with each day. They affection towards each other. How inlove they are and how they fought to help each other with everything they can!

"You jumped in after me," I whispered.
"I'd jump into the pits of hell for you, Rim.

In this book Romeo & Rimmel face twice more difficulties but they always fight through them - TOGETHER!
Stalked, threathend, accused.. they have bunch of things on their hands, besides fight for their futures!
They never let anything to stand between them!

“And though she be but little, she be fierce

Once again Rimmel was a strong heroine who fights for herself! She was fierce, sassy and funny. She was the one who always stood up for the one she love! She wasn't afraid to speak her mind out loud. She was more confidend in herself, all because of Romeo who helped her to let down her walls and be free and happy girl! My heart broke for her so many times and admired her streight to fight more!

“I was into her and it was creating some kind of war inside me. A war between the guy I was and the guy everyone wanted me to be. It never used to be a competition. I was happy to be that guy. The player, the football star, the charmer. I was those things. But I was more.

Romeo... *sigh*

Jeez, oh-kaaay I will look up.. (MAYBE!)

This posessive, cocky, sweet, sexy, beast, lover, adorable and crazy in love boy.. STOLE MY HEART, I MEAN IT!
His love towards Rimmel is so strong and amazing! Always protective of her, always caring for her!
His dream about NFL is coming closer and closer. Playing his game on maximum, giving everything from himself on the field, he is the KING of the football but also on the school! He is the charming one who makes your panties melts easily but he is also the man devouted on his girl!

Their HOT SCENES are scorchinggggggggg HOT!
This man sure knows how to make a girl hot and bothered!

Their passion and lust were unbearably sexy! The fast, the slow, the sweet love making, the make-up sex.. every scene is SEXY or SWEET in its own way!

Together they have so much to fight for! I love that their journey is still not over and that I would get more of them! They happily ever after is something I am eager to see soooo hard! Their love is so dreamy and sweet, it would make you wish to be on Rimmel's place soooo many times!

#Hater is the continuing story of the football star, Romeo, and his nerdy tudor, Rimmie. In the previous book we know that Romeo has pissed off one of classmates and now that classmate is out for revenge. In #Hater Romeo and Rimmie are naviataging their new relationship while they deal with his family, their schooling, and this revenge seeking.

I listened to the audio of this one and enjoyed it. Overall the story was 3.5 star experience for me.

ugh, the narrator for the girl is a bit annoying now.

#Hater is the second book of the Hashtag series. In it, you will still be reading about Romeo and Rimmel. They are cute and stuff but ugh, when the girl narrator screams or whines.. it feels like nails on a chalkboard to my ears.

I will admit that this book was cute in ways.. but a bit ridiculous in others. I just don't see how Zach would've been able to do all this stuff. Plus the school not taking this whole situation between him, Rimmel, and Romeo seriously made me want to roll my eyes. AS for the whole paper situation, that actually is a thing but to have this paper already out into the world before she turned into this guy was bit of a stretch. At least to me. I feel like any teacher would know that this would probably never happen to a college student.. especially when they are so freaking close to graduating. However, that could just be me and my naive self.

Other than all of that nonsense, I did enjoy this book. I like these two together but it's a bit annoying to see people trying to pull them apart. I didn't expect his mom to act this way, again, towards rimmel.. but I also wasn't really surprised or shocked about it either. I want to dive into the next book but I don't want to be disappointed with it.

Goodness gracious, mercy me! Have you ever had a book hangover? If not, expect one from this book. It is an amazing continuation of the story of Romeo and Rimmel. I absolutely loved it. Let me back up a tiny bit, however. #Hater is the second book in The Hashtag Series, by Cambria Hebert. It's told from alternating first person point-of-view and while I suppose you could read this as a standalone, I wouldn't suggest it. I'd actually tell you turn around right now and go read #Nerd first. I personally feel like so much of the story would be missed if you didn't read the books in order.

I don't even know how to really write out the review for this. So much would be spoilers and believe me, I want to gush about this book. What I am going to do is direct you to my review of #Nerd, you can find it . These books do have the same main characters, which means it's good to start at the beginning. This review will likely spoil the first book for you if you haven't read that, or just be confusing. (I'm going to try to keep that from happening.)

As with the writing in the first book, the writing in #Hater literally sucks you in. I didn't stop to even eat while reading this. I sat hunched over the table, with my Kindle propped up. I sat it down to sleep, and that was only when I could barely keep my eyes open to follow the story anymore. Cambria has a way with words and a way of making the characters you're reading about feel like someone you actually know. You do get to know them, you gain ideas of them in your head, you can actually hear it when Romeo and Braeden pop off with, "Hells yeah!". They become real.

In #Hater specifically, you see Romeo and Rimmel take on new challenges. You get to know them better, you become far more immersed in the world of Alpha U. (The BuzzBoss is still awesome, by the way! And unknown!) It's not just the main characters either, you get to know Braeden better, Ivy, Trent, and most of the "Inner Circle" around R&R. Life is happening at Alpha U, and these characters are living it. Football Championships, classes, papers to do, oh and Christmas break thrown in. (That's about as spoiler as you'll get.) It picks up right where #Nerd leaves off.

haterteaser4-700x1050

As you'll find out from the synopsis. Zack is back, and to sum that boy up in one word, he's crazy. I've never had a character that is the villain make me boggle so much. He's cocky and arrogant, and somehow gets away with things. (Probably because of his pretty face.) I am both in love and hate with this character, because the writing is brilliant. I hate him, and I love that I hate him. As I've said in the fan club, and I'll repeat myself here... #ZachAttack now has a whole new meaning for me.

keep-calm-cause-haters-gonna-hate-5

I do want to point out, that if you're reading this, you're going to want the next book almost instantly. There isn't so much of a huge cliffhanger in this book, but there is enough of one that you will want to know what happens next. That all being said, this is another five big stars for me. :D And I'm sneaking #Player into my pile to read!

Genre: New Adult + College Romance
Series: The #Hashtag series (read them in order)

:: 5 Pretty Little Stars ::

NOTE: Make sure you read #Nerd before diving into this book as it is the continuation of Rimmel and Romeo’s story. Also, this is one of the BEST college romance series ever written! Hehe it’s my favorite!

This book is fantastic. To say I am a fan of Cambria Hebert’s work is an understatement. I devour her books and fangirl hard and every time I hear she is writing something new I totally jump with joy (don’t judge me). Why am I such a huge fan? For many reasons. First, each and every story that I have read by her has sucked me in and made me feel so invested with the characters it’s as if they have come to life and become my best friends. This is a hard feat my friends because I read A LOT and she is one of the few to do this for me EVERY TIME. Secondly, the way she weaves and tells these characters stories if phenomenal. You immediately feel like you are living with them and becoming a part of their lives/drama/and love life. Finally, she has a unique quality of writing. None of her books are too wordy, you never become confused with the dual POV’s, and she adds a uniqueness to each chapter by using hashtags to make you feel like you go to Alpha U too. I love this! With that being said, I loved #Hater. Like every single second, every single page, and every single word. Men should be living up to Romeo’s standards because he is utterly PERFECT. Moreover, this book adds just enough drama to make it exciting! So, if you haven’t read this series yet YOU HAVE TO. Gosh, it’s amazing!

As I said before, this is book 2, and the continuation of Rimmel and Romeo’s story as they navigate their new and serious relationship amidst a stalker that doesn’t know when to let go. Their relationship is as good as ever and it is clear to everyone how much these two love each other from the depths of their souls. But having someone continuously try to wear them down is problematic. Sure it doesn’t test them in terms of their feelings, but it does cause a lot of unnecessary pain for Rimmel and Romeo. So what will happen with this stalker? And will their relationship ever be the same after the allegations made against them? READ IT!!!

Overall, this is an easy 5-star book for me. I love Romeo and Rimmel, I love the way they interact with one another, the love they have for one another, and how perfectly suited they are for each other. They are simply just one of the best couples I have ever come across in all the books I have read. So yea, I highly recommend this one (and the entire series).

I had stopped reading this series after the first book because I honestly thought there was no point in continuing. They had already gotten together, the characters were cool but nothing out of this world and the relationship was sweet, but really, what else was gonna happen? Turns out, I was very very wrong.

First of all, there is simply never enough Romeo. Wow, that guy really gets me going. I cannot get over his and Rimmel’s relationship and how cute they are together. That romance is really all I look for in a book, it’s just a happiness-inducing relationship. Add that to a side plot of mystery and college life and awesome friends? Amazing.

Honestly I'm so surprised considering I hated the first book but this was so much better. I really really enjoyed this and I'm looking forward to reading the next book.

*edit re read

I had NO CLUE there was going to be so much drama, mystery AND intensity in this series as well. I mean there's a ton of swoon and funsies but holy crap there's some DRAMA LAMA too! I love it!!

Ahhh! I am so obsessed with this series! Romeo and Rimmel are just adorable! And the cast of characters is amazing. I loved seeing Zach get what he deserved but that ending was CRAY!! I am so intrigued by Braeden and can't wait to jump on book 3! 5 stars! ~Ratula

Roman and Rimmel are so cute. I'm so bummed that my library isn't going to have book 3 for two more weeks.

At one point I want to knock out Romeo's mom but his dad is awesome. Then I'm in love with his mom and I thought what a way to redeem a character but then the mother had to blow it and be a jerk again. I'm loving this book. I love Romeo's relationship with Rimmel. I can't wait to hear more from Braden's character. He made me laugh so many times.

Good book! Loving the series.

I'm not gonna lie - Book 2 more than exceeded my expectations and definitely lived up to them considering the first book. I love how the author keeps the book simple but makes you feel compelled to read on. It was amazingly written and the structure was perfect.

Romeo is the perfect blend of sexy and sweet and definitely every girls dream girl true I think. Rimmel is the cutest and sweetest chick I've ever read. The author was so crafty and talented cause Rimmel is not you're typical nerdy heroine but was written so well. She falls down a lot, dresses in baggy clothes and has so many quirks but that just makes her so damn adorable. I kind of wish I was Ivy - getting to play dress-up with her and all. But despite all her quirks and embarrassing moments Romeo still treats her like the princess she is. Zach is a lunatic who I hope doesn't return in Book 3. Oh and yeah - there is a book 3 cause this one ends on a major cliffhanger! Perfect for all ages and fans of almost all genres and I definitely recommend it! :D So yeah - get reading!

This second installment continuous the love story of Romeo and Rimmel. Their love story is so sweet but it wont be exciting without challenges right? So, Romeo’s NFL career and Rimmel’s scholarship and future are threatened But despite of all these chaos they are still together which is really awesome!

There are a lot of things happening in the book that makes reading more intense and exciting. The characters are really well written that you will surely love the main characters and really hate the villains.

So the villain Zach is determined to destroy Romeo through Rimmel. He is one of the villains that really makes me feel angry and etc.

The book is really awesome that I started reading the third book #player right after reading it.
