This whole volume is a sudden fight between the gods and a main character god who has committed treason. The god did something to help her kill the Crafter but instead of that happening we have this whole treason thing and a bunch of characters we don't really know pop in here and there. Way too much fighting and I really didn't "get" everything that was going on. I usually love this series but found this volume tedious.

One thing I loved about this series was the lack of fan service with Hiyori. Unfortunately, it seems the creators have started to be pushed for panty shots when Hiyori is fighting. Such a shame. I hate seeing strong female characters degraded in such fashions.

Story: Bishamon equips Nana (the sealed away shinki who once 'tore Heaven and Earth asunder') and tells her she will get revenge on the Heavens' she despises so much, if she helps her find the Crafter. Throughout this volume, Bishamon is claimed a traitor and the Heavens are sent to dispose of her, just as she is about to reach the Crafter. Bishamon's trusted shinki Kazuma, is caught by the Heavens Guards. Takemikazuchi attempts to defeat the goddess with his shinki Kiun, but is met by resistance from both Nana and Bishamon. Bishamon continues her fight against other gods. Up in the Heavens, other gods attempt to stop the persecution but all fail. Yato decides to help Bishamon from being destroyed, but Yukine is told by the stray Nora that if he wants to ensure Yato's safety, he will not help Bishamon. Yukine is left feeling conflicted, but ulitmately tries to prevent Yato from going after Bishamon.
In battle, Takemikazuchi attempts to strike down Bishamon. She faces another god,who turns out to be Yato. They pretend to fight, but Takemikazuchi catches on and sees Yato, who he declares as his enemy. The battle continues as Takemikazuchi takes on Bishamon and Yato.
Far from battle, the Crafter watches from the sidelines with the stray where he is found by Hiyori. She tries to stop the Crafter but he tells her that he simply wants to keep Yato safe, prevent him from dying and possibly not being reincarnated. Hiyori finds Yato and Yukine after their hit from Kiun's lightning.
Kazuma is forced to tell the Heavens Guard all he knows about what Bishamon plans and that she is not planning an insurrection, she only wants to stop the crafter. Bishamon continues to battle other gods guarding the Heavens and spots the crafter, who she tries to reach and destroy. The Crafter hopes to use the attention shining on her to keep Yato safe from Heavens wrath.

Art: Adachitoka's paneling throughout the volume, with multiple double page spreads was eye catching and impressive. There are also many pages with fewer panels, which emphasize the action and movement in certain scenes. The multiple battles that take part in this volume are impressive and the characters movements are fluid, detailed, and easy to follow. Each page contains beautifully illustrated characters and grand backgrounds which pull you into the story.

Overall:This volume continues where 15 left off. We see the response by the Heavens and a large battle ensue. We learn more about the Crafters motivations and why he despises the Heavens. We are left on a cliffhanger, with Bishamon closing in on the Crafter. Another engaging, and beautiful volume that will leave you wanting more.

Sooo.... shit hit the fan.... I wasn't expecting these last two volumes to be so intense, after not picking up the series for a couple months. Like this volume had so many action sequences and it's wild to see how Adachitoka's art style has evolved. I think this was the volume that I had the hardest time getting through, due to how pissed off I was at the Heavens for turning against Bishamon at the drop of a hat. I'm so pissed at Yato's dad and the Stray because I feel like they are acting like puppet masters to get others to do exactly what they want.

I also hate Takemikazuchi for treating this as a game to get a blessed vessel, without thinking of the safety of his shinki or himself. I feel sad for Kiun and the other shinki. I'm happy Yato refused to fight Bishamon and stood side by side with her, against the heavens. I understand Hiyori and Yukine's fear for Yato but I don't want them to count him out just yet. Also I loved the scene of Hiyori praying to the shrine that she made Yato and him later saying he heard her prayer. Hiyori standoff against Yato's dad was great, too. I love that she refuses to cower in front of him, regardless of his threats. In the talk between Bishamon and Yato's dad, it seems like he has real reasons for hating the Heavens as much as he does. I'm curious to see what those are.

I don't know how Yato and Takamikazuchi's fight against each other will turn out. I feel sad for all the shinki involved. Plus, I'm sad for Kazuma who was taken by the guards and forced to speak, despite him being a blessed vessel.

I feel like this arc is just going to get more and more intense, which is nerve-wracking and exciting.

A battle is never just a battle in this series, but a full blown narrative web of characters and world building. Basically this whole volume can be summed up as Bishamon tries to kill Yato's dad, the heavens get mad at her for unsealing the Burier and choose to attack her while she pursues pops. I got to say, the heavens sure are an anxious bunch. The standout moments for me this volume were, Bishamon tenderly caring for the Burier as she marvels at the big wide world and all it's changes. Bisha drops a great little tidbit that the gods can only give, and it's humans that cultivate. I can't help but feel that all these notes on what the gods can do will rope right around to Yato's dad and his deal. Hiyori has an kick ass moment where she wrestles Yato's dad into submission. Yato chooses to betray the gods for Bisha and gets a cool fight with Takemikazuchi, Yuki starts listening to the Stray again and it would be nice if he'd just ignore her. Also, apparently Yato's dad is on the side of the gods (maybe). A lot is going on here, and the momentous nature of it all is a treat. I also have to say that the new gods introduced have some wicked cool designs.

Bishamon is out on her mission, not letting anyone know of her plans, even though her shinki want to help her. It leaves them feeling helpless, and Kazuma can't stand it when the gods decide that she's committing treason.

Yatogami is doing what he can, in the mean time, and Hiyori is feeling left out and helpless on her own. And then there's the Stray and Yato's father, working in the background, trying to mess things up. The shinki that Bishamon has found has her own agenda, as well.

I've fallen a little behind in this series, but I'm still obsessed. I love everything about it, and I can't wait to get my hands on the next one.

I love the little glimpses of humor, among all the major drama that's happening right now. Like Ebisu wanting money to rule all, and Kofuku getting drunk. The small moments of true caring are important, too; I like seeing how much Kazuma cares for Bishamon, and how even Hiyori wants to help her.

Yato no reencarna!

The storytelling is so gripping, so intense, I did not breathe for the time it took me to finish the entire volume. The way Adachitoka weaves the story and builds its character during one of the most impactful action scenes I¡¯ve ever read is honestly incredible. There¡¯s so many layers to this story that I honestly don't think I¡¯d be able to grasp them all even with multiple rereads.

Each character is so complex, I would need entire novels to write about how interesting they are. The relationships established between them all are incredible as well. As always, my heart beats especially for Yato. He has to be one of the best written MCs I¡¯ve read, and the development he¡¯s still going through is unbelievable. The way he¡¯s ready to sacrifice himself without question for his best friend slash rival actually made me tear up. I love him SO much.

The intensity keeps picking up and I¡¯m terribly excited, but also very much terrified, to read the next volume.

This volume had an adorable cover. The inside is anything but adorable. Bishamon has procured the legendary blessed vessel who¡¯s been locked away and ends up marked for death by the Heavens. She¡¯s not going down without a fight. Without spoiling much, she is in for the fight of her life with a shinki that is centuries out of date and has a hateful agenda of her own. Kazuma and the rest of shinki are scrambling to save Bishamon. Yato also tries to save her while Hiyori takes on Yato¡¯s father on her own. Worse the war god Takemikazuchi has Yato and Bishamon in his sights, wanting nothing more than the battle of his life.

I¡¯m a little less than thrilled about a volume that¡¯s nothing but fight scenes but at least it had plot to go with it and the art is beautiful as always.

Bishamonten may have the right idea to bring down the dangerous Crafter (Yato¡¯s father) but the path she chooses seems to be leading to her own downfall. By breaking the binding on the dangerous, long buried Shinki, she invites the wrath of the heavens and all the Gods gather to wage a war against her; including Yato, who doesn¡¯t know that it is Bishamon on the other side.

This volume is packed with action and justifiably so, as it orbits around the Goddess of War. When Yato is not being a nutty, slightly-pervy, Hiroki-stalker, he rises magnificently to the occasion and proves yet again to be a solid friend in dark times.

Enjoyed this instalment thoroughly.

Ebisu is the invisible hand hahahah

This is getting too complicated for my three braincells to handle i cant keep track of whose allegiance lies where

Im so sick of the stray oh my god. Good writing tho like she gets on my nerves?

takemikazuchi and kiun are hottttt okayyy but they annoy me sm hdhdhd

lol last volume i was like "the fight didnt last long drag it out" ok i got more than i bargained for this volume HAHAHA

Ok this volume is giving final showdown vibes in terms of grandiosity. It's also the most complex so far in terms of who's with who. It's trying to shake things up a bit with these complicated sides which i appreciate (but cant grasp hahahah)

There is a straight up war between gods and yet I have so little interest in it. Maybe it's because of the lightening dude, Mizuchi and Father's annoying dickishness, or that Hiyori really needs to STOP GETTING INVOLVED IN FUCKING EVERYTHING. I love how willing she is to help, but there is a LITERAL WAR BETWEEN GODS going on, and she just pops in to give a pep talk like she isn't in danger by doing something so profoundly stupid. Also, Father's motivations are horseshit and I still hate him. So, yeah, fun times folks.

So Bishamon has been accused of committing a sin against heaven in her attempt to take the sealed hafuri and use it to kill the sorcerer (Yato's dad) & she even fights off Heaven's agents - but she won't dare to use any of her shinki, and Kazuma's trying to reach her & will do anything to save her.
Yato goes to her aid as well and he & Yukine are fighting of Take¡ªsomething or the other, whose power is lightening

this volume was more action packed.
I loved the artwork and the charachters, also the worldbuilding is amazing.
In this volume the more general theme was 'revenge'. But I still liked, I do hope that everything will be fine with Yato and Yukin¨¦, and who is the bad guy? because now I am again confused haha I thought the father was the bad one but now it seems like the heavens are the bad one? haha looking foward to the next volume.

I liked this volume as we saw a lot of action plus Hiyori really take-on Yato¡¯s dad and actually pin him down (even if he did get away). She¡¯s not letting him scare her off.

On the other hand, I didn¡¯t like how chaotic it was at times. Some of the panels were too chaotic and abstract for me to know even what was going on. I know some of this is due to it not being in color, but it did make it hard to read at times.

I¡¯m excited to see how Yato and Bishamon get through this one.

Oh this one was crazyyy, so much action.

Bishamon has taken the locked away blessed vessel and wants to go after the crafter but then she has the heavens coming after her. Yato gets involved to help her and ends up in the middle of the fight.

I love how Hiyori stood up to the crafter and flipped his ass like go off girlie !!

It's just a lot of gods fighting and I was honestly a little confused why any of this is happening but I can't wait until the crafter is DONE with.

Bishamon acquired the renegade hafuri vessel in the previous volume and now want to confront the sorcerer.
By doing so, she turns her back on heaven and is accused of high treason. Yato stand by her side and get himself into trouble again.
Little bit too much battle going on in this one for my taste.

Amazing!

Yato looks so good in traditional god clothing! He should wear it all the time instead of that stupid tracksuit! *real feelings emerge* In all seriousness, the art in this volume was incredible! The actions scenes were gorgeous, fraught with tension and drama! I can¡¯t wait to read volume 17!
