If you have a choice, listen to the audio version: Nick has a good sense of humor ("Aren't you glad you got the audio, so you can hear me sing!"). I believe it gives a better impression of him as a "regular guy", not some sort of saint.

I noticed the book had been tagged "religious/inspirational" after I'd downloaded it. I thought "well, alright, the story of a limbless guy qualifies as 'inspirational' to me." Early on it's revealed that Nick comes from an evangelical background, becoming an actual evangelist himself. Normally, this would be a huge Red Flag. But, overall, it's not much of a problem in getting through the book, unless one is incapable of tuning out the religious references, in favor of the core message of believing in one's self. Nick does a good job integrating his own story with the larger points, rather than presenting a strict, linear autobiography. Moreover, he includes examples of others' stories that have inspired him.

My criticism would be that the book is, perhaps, a bit too long. Nick obviously wanted to include a couple of stories that were important to him, but I felt could be "abridged" to make the listen tighter. About 2/3 of the way through there's a section on evangelizing among the prostitutes of Mumbai - this is your cue to start skimming (or fast forwarding about 20 minutes). That struck me as the one hard-core, flat out religious ... outburst (for lack of a better term); the evangelical stuff is muted thereafter, but from then on I found little new in the content, just a slow coast to the end. I'm not saying to stop there by any means, but if one is tempted to do so, at least stick around that long.

I'm sure there'll be times ahead where I might become discouraged or depressed, but thinking of Nick, those episodes might not least nearly as long. He's that good a speaker.

Life Without Limits by Nick Vujicic is an inspirational novel. It is based on Nick's life experiences. He wrote this book when he was twenty-seven years old. He is from Australia. He was born without any limbs. It's a story of a limbless man.

Nick's parents are devout Christians, but after Nick was born with neither legs nor arms, they wondered what God had in mind in creating him. Nick was their first child. At first, they assumed that there was no hope and no future for Nick. Instead of celebrating his birth, Nick's parents and their whole church mourned. It took a long time to see the benefits of the circumstances Nick was born into.

Nick's childhood was different. But his parents try their best to give him a normal life. They invent cool stuff to help Nick with his daily chores. His parents laid a strong foundation of belief in him. Nick believes that life has no limits. He wants us to feel the same way through this book. He has physical limitations, but still, he does skateboarding, surfing, playing music, hitting a golf ball, speaking to audiences, and inspiring them. We have the limb, but still, we live in fear and agony.

Nick has two younger siblings. For his parents, he was not exactly the child of their dreams. But they have strong faith in God and believe that God must have a plan for their son. Many people pity him, but he doesn't care. He believes that you can't control what will happen to you. But you can control your attitude towards the problem. He is an inspiration. He travels worldwide, shares other people's grief, shows them the right path and gets a lot of hugs.

"If you can't get a Miracle, become one."

According to the author, finding your purpose is the first important step in living a life without limits. Maintaining hope for the future during difficult times plays a key role. If one can live with faith, they will never be live in despair. Faith means Full Assurance In The Heart. Our society bombarded us with messages that we need to have a certain look, drive a certain car, and maintain a certain lifestyle in order to be loved, appreciated, or considered successful. We must not allow other people to determine our value.

Nick faces many challenges, but he encourages others to recognize their problems, work harder, and keep searching for creative solutions no matter how many times they fail. This story changes one's perspective. Before I read this book, I always thought about how Nick managed to do things. How can he be so optimistic and happy? After reading the book, I got my answers.

This book gives an insight into Nick's personal life. The way he deals with his emotions. When he was a teenager, he always thought that no one would ever marry him. He will never get a job. He even thought of suicide at once. He overcame all the difficult phases of his life. He completes his studies. He became a famous YouTuber and motivational speaker. He has a beautiful wife, Kanae, and a son, Kiyoshi. We all need supportive relationships. Nick is always surrounded by true friends, mentors, and role models who support and help him to achieve his dreams. People call him crazy, but he said to take risks and dare to be called crazy by those who doubt his genius.

This book provides a personal action plan to help determine your path. The author describes her relationship with his family beautifully. This book inspires me in so many ways. The author includes other people's life-changing experiences as well. He works for the different organizations and helps people in need. Nick's faith in God and willingness to live a good life changes everything. He realized his purpose. He turns his struggles into lessons that inspire others. The content is engaging and powerful. It's a fun and emotional read. I like how he handles the bullies in high school. He gives and receives a lot of love from everyone. I would strongly recommend this book. It encourages you to rise, explore, and develop your gifts.

I got this from the library after seeing the author's inspiring video where he talks to young girls about how beautiful they are and to accept themselves as they are. This man is truly an inspiration. But the book didn't do much for me. Yes, it's motivational and, yes, it is a reminder of what you can do despite all odds. But I found it a bit unsettling that I compare myself to someone with no limbs in order to understand this about myself. I know that seems cruel, but I found it unfair somehow to both Vujicic and myself. The optimism felt one dimensional and I was hoping for something with more depth. Oh, and he is a devout Christian, brimming with faith. More power to him, I say; but that's not how I roll, so I simply couldn't buy that "God's plan" thing. I am happy for Vujicic - that he has found a fulfilling life and he has shared his wisdom with others, who hear him and take those words to feel better. For me, it didn't pull at those heartstrings near as much as that video did.

Almost every single thing you do involves the use of your limbs. So can you imagine living a life without a single arm or leg?
Nick Vujicic, through his incredible life story, teaches us how blessed we are. He was born with tetra-amelia syndrome, a rare disorder characterized by the absence of arms and legs. The book chronicles his journey from being a determined baby and a depressed teen earlier to the strong motivational speaker of today. He also highlights the role of his parents and God in helping him be what he is today.

This book is certainly not among the best books I've read; it seems to go rather back and forth sometimes in its narrative and is a bit too religious for my comfort. In spite of these (minor) shortcomings, I found myself hooked on to the story of this man. It does cause you to question the severity of your life problems when faced with a person living his life to the fullest without a single limb!

The book is full of wonderful motivational quotes and anecdotes that can cause you to start taking affirmative action towards changing your outer life by changing your inner self. Give this book a shot not just if you want to bring about changes in your life but also if you want to learn how God can give strength to a human being to go beyond the supposedly insurmountable.

As Nick Vujicic himself says in his book,
"Once you accept that perfection is just a goal, screwing up isn't so hard to handle. Each misstep is still a step, another lesson learned, another opportunity to get it right the next time."

Nick Vujicic is an amazing person and he definitely has some great things to say. I am very impressed with his ability to find happiness and unfailing faith in Christ despite being born without limbs. But the book itself was not what I expected and was too long for what he had to say. I have seen YouTube video clips of Nick doing amazing things, and the videos are very motivational. I didn't find anything in the book that couldn't be gleaned from watching one of the videos online. It was hard to trudge through this book because of all the pausing to throw in motivational cliches and generalities--like he was reading every motivational quote and meme off Pinterest that he could find. It was almost so cheery that it came across as fake. I also got tired of hearing about all the people he has touched; it didn't start out as bragging but it also didn't let up, which kinda made him sound prideful. I am a God-fearing, church-going Christian, but I was still overwhelmed with the preachy tone of the story. For me, it would have been better if it was edited down to just tell his story and let me draw my own conclusions about what lessons he can inspire in me.

I read this book with my book club. Indeed Nick is a man to admire. Born without limbs he never let that get in the way of having a great life. However this autobiography has no drama and the theme of "you might have a crappy life but with God's help and a great attitude you can have a great one."never develops and runs on an on and on in every chapter. It makes for a great Man but a boring read

This weekend I finished reading a really good book by Nick Vujicic called Life Without Limits. He was born without arms or legs but is able to travel around the world speaking to audiences of all sizes about hope and faith. This book was such a positive and uplifting journey through his life that I'm sure I will come back to it again and again.

Throughout the book he uses examples from his own life and those he has come into contact with to show people how by changing your attitude, helping others and relying on your faith, you too can live a life without limits. The book is very easy to read and kept my interest from the beginning to the very end. Although he has physical limitations, he doesn't let that stop him from achieving his purpose and I feel that this can be applied to any area of my life that I am struggling in.

I think my favourite quote in this book was on page 128 "To achieve success you have to feel worthy of it and then take responsibility for making it happen." I plan to put this up around me to remind me that I can overcome any barriers or difficulties in my life. I will use the great information to help me in my weight loss journey as well as in my professional life and personal life.

I agree with the author that we must help others to stop focusing on our own problems and deficiencies. I am involved with some missions projects more in praying and donations but after reading his stories of India and Africa, I am planning to go on a mission trip in the next couple of years. I try to meet needs in my local community but this book even focused a chapter on building better relationships so I can better meet needs for those around me.

In this book, the author refers a great deal to his Christian faith which I admire, and he quotes some Scriptures, however, in some places he paraphrases Bible verses without quoting them which disappointed me a little bit. He also refers to himself as an evangelist but in this book I did not feel he clearly led the reader to be able to embrace his faith or to challenge them to make a decision but rather just held Christianity as an option that was out there and whatever spiritual choice they made was fine. This surprised me, but did not diminish my respect for the rest of the information given.

I highly recommend reading this book for all audiences - everyone will be able to gain some insight and wisdom from his life and from the other lives he has connected with. I would look forward to reading other books by this author in the future. I also hope that one day I can be in one of his audiences to hear him speak in person.

Life is all about attitudes... Nick's life shows us a story of a person whose destiny is written by himself. All of us have shortcomings, it can be physical or mental. A person who is physically healthy does not mean he is happy or his life is in cloud nine. It's our perspectives that defines Happiness. As Nick showed us, the physical limitations can be overcome by will power, if we try. I love this book not only it's inspirational but it has real LIFE in it.

Inspirational, gently Christian but equally available to believers and non-believers alike, this book is surely as intriguing as the author/motivational speaker must be in person. Nick Vujicic鈥檚 Life without Limits offers encouragement to readers who twist against the goads of a limited life, from the viewpoint of one whose life is lived without either limits or limbs. The cover picture, of a handsome happy young man, smiling, staring straight at the reader, certainly pulls you in. And it鈥檚 only after you鈥檝e been pulled in that you realize what鈥檚 鈥渨rong,鈥 or what's missing (arms and legs). But by then you鈥檙e already turning the page and you鈥檙e hooked.

Nick Vujicic must surely have lived the ultimate in limited lives, carried from place to place, dressed by others, fed by others, trundled around like a doll鈥 but he learned not only to be independent, but also how and when to choose dependence instead. In Life without Limits he offers examples from his own life and from people he鈥檚 spoken with to show how readers can choose to change their point of view, and practice unlimited life.

鈥淲hen you give up on your dreams, you put God in a box,鈥 says Nick in his introduction. But this isn鈥檛 a book about God. It鈥檚 not a book about blandly accepting the inevitable as just 鈥淲ell, it must be God鈥檚 will.鈥 It鈥檚 a book about changing the inevitable. If you鈥檙e a believer, it鈥檚 a book that will draw you closer to God, proving again and again that in a broken world or broken body, God has a plan for you. Even if you鈥檙e not a believer, Nick鈥檚 words might entice you with hope. But more than that, his actions and his lessons will propel you forward as surely as his 鈥渃hicken drumstick鈥 foot propels his truncated body in a swimming pool.

A lovely sense of humor pervades this book, almost inviting you to look more closely at the pictures鈥攜es, it invited me; I searched for Nick on Youtube and Facebook too as soon as I finished reading! But there鈥檚 also a valuable serious side to the writing. Nick says, with absolute honesty, there are others in the world with far more problems than he. Then he proves it鈥檚 true. He says, with absolute honesty, that we can change our lives, then he proves that too. He confesses to his teenage depression and hopelessness, and proves there really was a way through.

Do you need to change your attitudes? Do you need to set new goals? Do you need more people skills (and just imagine how important such skills must be to someone without arms to defend himself or legs to flee!)? Do you want some practical steps to overcoming your limits? This book has it all in an easy-to-read package, with repetition where it鈥檚 needed, a convincing feel of listening to a great speaker, a genuine call to motivate you, and an honest humanity and faith鈥 plus pictures, plus stories, plus laugh-out-loud ridiculous zany fun! Yes, Nick Vujicic really does live and love his life without limits and he鈥檚 somebody well worth meeting!

I feel so bad for not liking this book. I feel like a person who kicks puppies and kittens. I'm happy that everything turned out good for Nick. And I'm really happy that he and his family had such a positive attitude through all this. I did find this book very inspirational and I do recommend this for all pessimists because 'Life Without Limits' helps with how to think in more positive manner.

Christianity was maybe the thing for me. Thing I didn't like. Like yes I'm sorry but it was just a flip of the universe, not the path God supposedly put Nick on.

Winner of the CALEB Award, non-fiction, 2011.

Three reviews from our CALEB reviewers:

(1)

If Nick Vujicic鈥檚 autobiography Life Without Limits was required reading for every secondary school student I believe that the suicide rate for young people would plummet. If it could be made compulsory reading for every adult I believe the incidence of depression would also drop dramatically. If Life Without Limitswere mandatory reading for all new parents I believe both parents and children would benefit.

Nick Vujicic is a fiercely determined but no ordinary motivational speaker. Nick is Australian and was born without limbs. He has no arms or legs but that has not stopped him from surfing, skateboarding, and scuba diving and many more physically activities. In his final year of high school he was the school captain and went on to gain a degree in Financial Planning and Accounting. A devout Christian he enjoys life and he enjoys it to the full. His life has been painful at times but it is an inspiration. DS

(2)

Born without arms or legs, Nick Vujicic has found that with faith in God and a positive attitude he can live, as he puts it, a ridiculously good life. This is the inspirational story of how, while still a young man, Nick overcame extraordinary odds to live not only a relatively normal life, but one of mission, service and great generosity. His cheerful, hopeful and faith-filled outlook on life is a continual challenge to all of us to make the very best of what God has given us. WN

(3)
I have never before read a book quite like this. It is truly amazing that someone born with no arms or legs can put such a positive outlook on life. God has certainly shone His glory through the life of Nick.

The book gives many examples on how to live a positive life even with physical disabilities. Nick is very honest about the struggles he had growing up. I can鈥檛 hope to imagine what it would have been like.

This is a great read. I would love to hear Nick speak in person some day.

I can't say enough about this book except read it and you will be inspired. For some time, I have experienced hearing Nick Vujicic's teachings and was intrigued. He not only talks the talk, he walks the walk--and without legs! If that doesn't inspire, I don't know what would.

This amazing motivational speaker, evangelist, advocate, author, musician, adventurer, brother, son, husband, and father of four beautiful children is someone we should all hear and meet. With a heart so big it is a wonder he does not fall over all the time! All I can say to everyone is I dare you to check out his story. Or his Youtube videos, especially the one where he is surfing!

Enough said.

Encouragement to the max! Nick Vujicic was born without arms or legs. But through conquering adversity - physical, emotional, mental and spiritual - he's been an inspiration to people all around the world.

His life maxims are encapsulated in many of the chapter titles:

If you can't get a miracle, become one.

Attitude is altitude.

He says the most powerful attitudes are:
1. an attitude of gratitude
2. an attitude of action
3. an attitude of empathy
4. an attitude of forgiveness

Nick has a crazy sense of humour, a 'no limits' attitude, a ministry of hugs. He's made giving his mission in life and encourages others to do the same. Nick is open about his faith in God. His first speaking opportunity was in front of a Christian group, even before his own faith had bloomed. Through it he realised that perhaps motivational speaking was part of his calling in life. God, he says, has a sense of humour. Through the encouragement of the school janitor, Mr Arnold, He wrangled Nick into speaking to the very group he was studiously avoiding and there He revealed Nick's life purpose.

For so many people who have considered taking their own lives, Nick has shown a way forward into true wholeness. This is a testimony of faith, love and humour - and the fact that, even without arms and legs, it's possible to surf, skateboard and dive!

I had seen one of his books in an airport bookstore and thought it would be inspirational. While okay, the book is repetitive which makes for a slow read. I admit to skipping chunks of chapters because the theme is the same -- give to others and you'll receive more in return. I get it and I'm not putting down the work that he has done that he's trying to share. It's just how it was done in this particular book.

To think there are challenges in my life when compared to what he has overcome does put things into perspective. The reminder to help others even when you don't think you have something to offer is a very good one. It's too easy to get caught up thinking if we had more (time, money, etc.) we'd be in a better spot to make a difference. We all have something to give right now, no matter what we may feel we are lacking, and taking the time to reach out to someone could make a significant difference for them.

I had a great ridiculous, enlightening & inspiring time reading the book

Nick includes lots of personal anecdotes plus a lot of inspirational, motivating and touching stories of others which makes reading the book sort of a roller-coaster emotional ride. At times you have a great laugh at other times your grateful for what you have and sometimes you're somewhere in between.

I liked the part at the end "Action Plan" in which some questions are provided for reflection and that serve as guiding steps for an action plan towards a more fulfilling life for yourself.

I strongly recommend the book for everyone especially those going through hardships. As the book sheds light that there are many out there less fortunate than you are yet they are happy and enjoying life the best they can

What an amazing book!

From a young age, I've suffered from a "woe is me" attitude, but Nick's story shows I have nothing about which to complain! Instead of getting frustrated when I fail, or when things go wrong, I should just learn from it and move on...and that's just what I'm going to do!

I especially loved hearing about his friendships with people such as Bethany Hamilton, Jonathan Taylor Thomas, and Joni Eareckson Tada; I grew up seeing and hearing about those people on television and elsewhere!

"Love the perfectly imperfect you" ~Nick

'Life without limits'
What a motivational book it is!

Whenever you think, things are not working well, you feel down then instead of cursing yourself/ dragging more in the cave the despair/ stressing your mind, you just need to give a break to yourself, pick up this book and Read. (Read with capital R)
This one is totally a morale booster and believe me you'll get positives vibes from it.
A man named Nick without having arms and legs (only having a little left feet) yet so ambitious, happy and grateful. I truly admire his positive attitude towards life. Inspite of facing so many challenges he didn't complain a single time and thankful to the Creator for all what he had. He's extremely grateful for all blessings he have and the most precious one i.e. life. He's happy and satisfied because he's ready to live, ready to face his challenges and ready to dream with affirm faith that one day his dreams will come true.
I got inspired from him but I do feel ashamed of myself what I do whenever I have to face a single problem :(
This book will make you think....
why we are so ungrateful, negative and pessimistic & a man facing lots of challenges is so positive, jolly and contended?
And one will get the answer within this book :) infact we all, already know it but somehow forget the purpose of our living.

For particularly this book I'm not rating it for its writing style or the selection of events, or anything else, this book touched me that's all. He could made this book more emotional by potraying the darker picture of his sufferings but he wrote it in a lighter mood, cracking jokes on himself, adding humorous element too.
Without any doubt he's an amazing person.

Although this books is full of inspiration but still mentioning few lines here few:

~Living without limits means knowing that you always have something to give, something that might ease the burden of others.

~Life isn't rosy but it's always worth living.

~Life isn't about having it's about being.

~As long as you keep breathing you should remember that possibilities are there.

鈥淚f you can't get a miracle, become one.鈥

This was one good great book, written by Nick Vujicic, who you might know as the without arms and legs who still lives leife to the fullest.
Reading this book shows you how small and insignificant your problems are, and how wrong you are in wanting to wallow and drown yourself in a pool of self-pity.
It tells you to "live life to the fullest", or, in other words, a ridiculously good life, one without limits.
It tells you to follow your dreams, how to do it, and also gives you a glimpse at Nick (see, whenever I talk about a writer, I always put "Mr." or "Ms." before their name, but I'm calling this guy by his first name.)
Nick is also a very humerous writer, as well as a pretty good one. The writing was never really boring or dull, and is highlighted by real-life experiences.
This was a great book, one that I recommend to all.

4/5 Stars.

I am sure he is inspiring and everything as a person with no limbs, but this book is just goes like:
believe in your self.. love your self.. there is hope.. god has a plan for everyone.. work hard, keep hope, god has plan for everyone.. don't lose hope.. you are beautiful, love your self. yada yada yad so it goes.
some personal stories here and there, then again, don't lose hope, love your self etc etc.
I am certain you can find his story plenty of places other than this book, and even this book can be summarized in an article.
He is a cool guy, but even with reading speed set to 2.6X, and despite only 8 hour book length, took a lot of time from me to finish it, it is so repetitive and sounds like a religion book for kids once, and once like a biography no idea what to make of it.
I don't recommend it, find his story elsewhere.

No arms no legs Nick Vujicic overcame his disabilities to live an independent ridiculously good life. As a kid Nick was treated differently and was called an alien just because he was born without limbs. Now he's a successful motivational speaker, Nick enthusiastically spreads his message. The most important goal is to find your life's purpose and to never give up, despite whatever difficulties or seemingly impossible odds stand in your way. Nick tells his story about his physical disabilities and his emotional battle and how he faced them as a child, a teen and a young adult. This book inspired me to never give up no matter what. Let Nick inspire you to live your life without limits.

When you start reading this book you realize that anything you're going through right now is not that bad compared to life without limbs. And then you realize another thing: there are people who live without limbs (or have other disabilities) but their lives are much more interesting and fulfilled then yours.
The incredible story of a man who turned his life without limbs into the life without limits.
Stay positive, be humble, inspire others, take risks and keep believing - and you will be surprised where it can lead you.

A book "to inspire you to find your purpose, to be hopeful, to have faith, to love yourself, to have a positive attitude, and to be fearless, unstoppable, accepting of change, trustworthy, open to opportunities, willing to take risks, and be charitable to others!"

You are one awesome person, Nick Vujicic.
