THE WAR IS OVER.

BUT THE TRUE HORROR HAS ONLY JUST BEGUN....

For more than six hundred years, Selene was a Death Dealer, a vampire warrior dedicated to the destruction of her people's savage enemies: the werewolves. But then she learned the shocking truth behind the ancient conflict and turned against her undead masters.

For all of his mortal life, Michael was an ordinary human, ignorant of the night's darkest mysteries -- until he found himself caught in the middle of a shadow war between immortal rivals. Bitten by both a lycan and a vampire, he has now become a hybrid creature whose ultimate potential remains unknown.

Together, Selene and Michael have become outcasts -- and targets, for a long-buried menace has risen from the depths of history in search of unholy vengeance. Now, in order to survive, Selene must uncover a terrible secret hidden deep within the shadows of her own forgotten past....

This book is one of the best books of 2005. It has a great storyline and is full of action. When the movie comes out I look forward to seeing it. Greg Cox wrote a fantastic book version of the movie and I praise him for that. I recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the underworld series of books. This one takes the cake. I will not spoil it for anyone expect that Selene and Michael become closer and the action is bigger and more exciting.

This book was incredible! Like most of the the Underworld books I couldn't stop reading. This book is ten times better than the first book. Love Selene And Michael. I can't wait to read more of Greg's books. I hope he publishes more books than just 4 book.

I like to know what relationship trouble Selene and Michael will have. You tend to worry more about there survival than there love for one another. Even if you want to read more love between them, it all erases from ur memory when you read that there fight for there lives. It's so amazing. This is one of my favorite books. You know when you fall upon a great book and time passes and you haven't slept because ur to busy wondering what might happen next.

I still wonder what might happen next after they pretty much killed everyone. I don't know how the book will continue on. I'd love to see more of Vicktor and his wife. I like to know who was Selene before she became a vampire. I know that Vicktor created her. But I want to know why she never shows any emotion. I know that some of the reason was because her family died and she thought for years that Lycan's killed then. But there has to be another reason. Did she have another love. I want to know why Viktor didn't kill her. He must of saw something in Selene maybe she reminded him of the daughter he once had.

For this, Selene will be one character to remember.

This book shows some rocking girl power! It shows independence, and strength. Selene has power, she is tough, strong, independent, smart, logical, and all around awesome! *spoilers* She mostly shows her tough attitude, when Marcus is following them, and she takes out the police officers, and they are racing to find shelter, before the sun rises *end spoiler* This book, shows romance can come at the strangest, most unpredictable times, but can still seem sweet and innocent.

Throughout this book, I noticed small details that were left out of the movie. Made me appreciate the book even more.

I was pleased overall with this book. It really held true to the movie... didn’t introduce many new thoughts, but I liked that he didn’t try to change it too much from the movie. It was short and sweet, if a little less engaging than the first book/movie. (But that is the way I felt about the movie too. It was good but not as good as the first... or third for that matter).

I do wish that there was a little more about Selene and Michael... But it was enough for me to be somewhat satisfied. I am glad he didn’t continue the series past movie three. I’m already disappointed with the way things went in the fourth and fifth movies... can’t imagine the books being very good. Overall it was fun!

Another short read but again entertaining, this time I read this before I watched the movie and I loved both , it is especially useful in terms of the underworld fans that love the first film which is rated a 15 however this one is rated an 18 so fans who aren’t yet old enough to watch the second film can just read this ! ❤️

An excellent novelization of the movie. It goes deeper into the characters' minds and gives the reader a better perspective of the war between vampires and lycans

There's a few passages that make it really obvious it was Written By A Man and the number of times eyes are described as orbs feels like Wattpad but a fairly decent novelization.

Selene has devoted her intire immortal existence to the extermination of the Lycans (werewolves). However when she discovers that everyhting that she thought to be true was a lie and that Victor, the "eldest" vampire of the covin had actually murdered her mortal family and balmed the lycans, the world she once knew is turned upside down.
Micheal never knew that there where such things as Vampires and werewolves until he is caught in the middle of the decade long war. He is turned into a lycan by, Lucian the leader of the lycan pack(thought to be dead by the vampires). Selne however becomes attracted to him and had to bit him to save his life after he is shot several times by silver nitrate bullets. Micheal then becomes a hybrid of both species and helps Selene defeat Victor.
Now the pair travel together, trying to uncover the truth of their dark world. However and vengeance is bruing deep within the tombs of the covin and a plaguing beast from the Vampire relics comes forth to bring about a world of hybrids and the end of everything else.Together Selene and Micheal must defeat the monster and in the process,Selene will be forced to discover the truth behind her families destruction.

This Sci-fi novel is probably one of the best I have ever read. It is filled with action/romance and just epic mystery etc. I would recomend it to anyone with a fasination of the paranormal and hidden Underworld.

This, the third book in the triology, brings the Underworld story to a conclusion. It's well written, the pacing is good throughout, and thankfully the characters are given more life here than in the movie. While I like the Underworld movies, and have read all three books, I'd have to plump for the books as being the better option. One reason for that is what I've stated previously, in that the book gives the characters more life--you get inside their heads and feel their emotions, something you can't do with a movie. The other plus with book over film, is you don't have to be subjected to Scott Speedman's god-awful acting.

Do you read the book first, or watch the film? Won't matter, because the two intermesh, there's no plot additions in the novel version. If you read the book, you know what'll happen in the film and vice-versa. But that takes nothing away from this read; an excellent end to the Underworld trilogy and yes. . . Selene rocks!

This is about as good as a book about a movie can be. With the Underworld series I think this is the first time I've read books associated with movies that are written after the movies.
I really like the Underworld movies and I'm looking forward to the new one coming out in 1/09 even if Selene is not in it. Apparently there is another Underworld book that I haven't read yet that is not associated with either of the first two movies or the one coming out, it's a seperate story. I'll get around to reading that at some point.
The author does a good job of mirroring the movie plots and though it's not the kind of thing you have to put on your "must read" list it does make for good guilty pleasure reading when you need a break from heavier material.

I enjoyed the movie but this book adaptation of it is terrible.

I bought this book as an impulse buy at an airport minutes before my flight was to depart. Surrounded by hacking coughs, screaming babies, and Sky Mall catalogs, I did my best to get into this novel. I failed.

I'm unsure if my dislike of this book stems from the author's simplistic writing style or the way he conveys the characters inner thoughts and emotions. Maybe I should just be thankful his brevity enabled me to read the book in less time than it took to watch the movie.

You can read the first two chapters on Amazon for free via their Peek Inside option. I kept hoping it would get better but it never did. Save your time and skip this book. The Sky Mall catalog was more enthralling.

Amazing as predicted!!! Selene is fantastic as is Michael!!
I love reading these books because I find extra tidbits of information that I missed in the movie. For example: Marcus is a hybrid. I merely assumed he looked like that (batty) because he was the first vampire. It didn't click that Singe made Marcus a hybrid, for me, I thought just the human strand carried the gene. Also, if Marcus turned into a hybrid, why didn't William also change all those centuries ago when he consumed I innumerable vampires? Mix up maybe in the writing?
I never understood why Amelia was an elder. Back when she was turned, women weren't thought of much. Was she Viktor's mistress or something?
Anyway, love the book and can't wait to read the next one.

Like with the first novelization, I really enjoyed this. The author added richer context and detail to the story even though, once you've seen the film, you're already familiar with it. I can't remember anymore if I preferred 1 over 2, or vice versa. But I do remember loving this. Some novelizations of films feel like cookie cutter copies, and some are poorly written. This is neither.

4/5 stars.

I am an Underworld Fan through and through and even though I found the 2nd movie lacking I still picked up the novel. Did not regret the decision. The 2nd book and movie both were lacking compared to the first but thats the case every time. Other than that the book was fast paced and I flew through it.
