It isn’t every day that a billionaire pharmacy CEO sails his yacht down to Tequila Key to see how the common folk live. Or in Chadwick Harrington’s case, to hide out from the media circus threatening to ruin his not-so-illustrious career after he privatized a patented cure for Alzheimer’s.
No wonder he’s called “The Most-Hated Man in America.
When Chadwick is abducted, his security chief forces Althea and Miss Elva to use their extra-sensory powers to find Chadwick within three days or else. Which is the last thing Althea needs when she’s in the middle of an explosive love triangle that threatens to distract her from the events at hand.
The clock is ticking, and when a website goes viral revealing the lurid details of Chadwick’s lifestyle, the whole world is watching as Althea is forced to throw caution to the wind to find the one man she’d just as soon see left for dead.

It was a slower paced and less action packed story then the previous ones but I really liked it. Several chuckles and some nice romance made it a very fun read.
This was a good read. A psychic and a white witch were in Tequila Key Florida where a man who has invented the cure for alshimers came to visit. They are drawn into a plot to save the man and to uncover the cure to the masses. I won't tell you if they were successful or not. You'll have to read the book. Be Blessed.
As usual, Tricia delivers a great mystery and entertaining characters. Unfortunately, this one doesn't include any underwater segments and that disappointed me a bit. She also chose to have one of her characters perpetuate very stupid ideas about pharmaceutical companies. I was very offended at her inclusion of lies about companies that have saved the lives of so many people, including my husband and I, and that have enhanced the quality of life for so many others. Fortunately, the nonsense was restricted to the beginning and end of the story. I understand this is fiction but I expect authors to use moral sensibilities in their writing. Otherwise, this is a fine story, written with the same skill as the others in this series. A good mystery, a bit of romance, lots of adventure and lots of fun.
I really loved this book. We get to see new magic and psychic abilities, an excellent mystery with an interesting outcome, and growth on the romantic front. If anyone is keeping score, I’m still 1000% #TeamTrace. Can’t wait to start book five.
A tarot card reading goes awry followed by the disappearance of the wealthy pharmaceutical guy who demanded the reading puts Althea and her band of lively misfits smack in the middle of another crisis too soon for Althea's sometime boyfriend's liking. Another excellently plotted paranormal mystery with a splash of romance to keep you entertained for hours. I can't believe how quickly I am flying through these books especially since I so far they have all been available on audio! I simply can't get enough!
This series is absolutely delightful!!! So many good things going on with a dollop of mystery, love, discovery and hope to know ourselves and appreciate who we are.
I received a free advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
Welcome back to Tequila Key's. Althea is at it again, getting herself and friends into crazy situations and solving mysteries. I was glad to be back reading about my friends, especially Miss Elva. She still remains my favorite, in fact, I might need one of her hats. Also, I LOVED the Althea/Trace conversation around page 122ish. Some things I did miss, there were no cool diving sites or and snorkelling, I felt like it had less magic, and while Althea was awesome and I unstand her feelings were mixed up due to the men in her life, I felt she was more cranky and less sassy. I hope she is back to her usual sassy self, especially after the way things ended.
This is more 3.5 and I’ve changed my ranking from 3 to 4 to 3 as it’s not either one. I’m left feeling more irritated than anything by the events, hence my settling on 3. My four main irritants with this book (+ 1 for the series) as of now:
- The whole on again, off again thing with Cash is getting irritating. Why are we still hashing that out? I thought this was resolved in book 2?
- Nathanial and Nico. Both work security. Both introduced at the same time. For the love of the goddess why?! Sure you make a point about the accent but then ever mention it again. So what’s the point of mentioning it? I’m reading along thinking, “but that doesn’t sound like that guy Only to find out at the end that I was thinking of the other male N who works security.
- Victoria. There was no need for that. Could still have the fund setup without that outcome. An attempt would’ve been sufficient.
- There was zero need for Althea to go on that dream walk. She did nothing in that scene. I know you needed to send her to keep the story moving but have her *do* something. Not just stand around and gawk at the room.
- Why are are all of these events happening in this sleepy little town in the span of what? Six months? Give us something. Althea is awakened to them because of her magic. She’s a nexus for life and death events. Something to make it plausible.
I’ll read book 5 as I’ve already bought it but Victoria’s storyline has seriously soured me on this series.

This book begins when Althea is paid handsomely to do a card reading on board the yacht of an incredibly disliked CEO currently visiting the small island. When Miss Elva tags along, they start to uncover some issues in his circle, and suddenly the CEO has been abducted. His security chief forces them to help located his boss, and the story takes off from there.
A mixed bag is the best way I can describe this one. The whole part with his security chief 'forcing' them to help him was pretty ridiculous. There had to be a better way to get them involved in the search - maybe the police chief or something. And on that note, I'm pretty done with the way they never call the chief, even though he's on their side. I also didn't like how the characters start taking major moral positions related to the CEO, but I never like it when stories integrate political and social statements.
On the flip side, this was the high-point for me with the relationship between Trace and Althea. I thought their interactions were excellent, and the romance very natural.
That said, this is the book where I'm leaving the Tequila Key train. It's a high point in the 'love triangle' for me (a trope that I despise) but having looked at future book descriptions in the series, I see that the author is going to continue to play with it for more books. I'm not interested in reading more with her and Cash - I feel she never really made him a likable character, just an attractive one.
A billionaire pharmacy CEO, Chadwick Harrington, is looking for a little recreational fun on his yacht. He sends his assistant to hire Althea for tarot readings. She firmly says no (several times) until she is offered $10,000 cash in advance. Who can resist that? She takes Miss Elva along for back-up, and is glad she did. Pharm boy Harrington is not a nice person! He has patented a cure for Alzheimer’s, and put the price in such an atmospheric price range that only the extremely wealthy can afford to buy it. He surrounds himself by people, but none are friends-they are all along for the ride because he is rich, and someone wants to hurt him deeply.
When Harrington is kidnapped, his security chief convinces Althea to help find him. What she finds is a website up to embarrass the "Most hated man in the world." While it does that job, Aletha, Luna, Miss Elva, and Trace investigate and find out some pretty interesting things. Twists, turns, and surprises await with this book of the series. It is fast paced and well written and leaves me begging for more!
What happened: Good won over evil, Miss Elva’s is a fierce “lovemountain, Althea is finally in love and has also made friends in high places.
This story is about Althea - a curvy psychic who is also harnessing her newly known magickle powers; a voodoo priestess named Miss Elva who owns her overabundance of curves and also is “a boss lady of everything that is awesome; a ghost pirate named Rafe who is enamored with Miss Elva who he calls his “lovemountain because- let’s face it - she is a voluptuously luscious goddess!; a handsome and delicious best friend and maybe future morethanfriends with Althea - Trace; Luna a white witch with magickal powers who is also Althea’s bff; and Chadwick Harrington - a sleezy schmuck of a man with small packaging and the power to cure Alzheimer’s, but adds a price tag much too high on the medication for the average patient.
It is up to Althea and her magickal crew and her friends to find a victim of abduction by a 3 day deadline before Althea is killed. Miss Elva plays a pretty cool role in assisting and in this story she really shines. Everything was awesome!
Another fun read! I like that Miss Elva is becoming more involved in the storyline but Luna seems to have dropped out a bit. This novel had less action but more insight into Thea's powers. The storyline was the abduction of a "Pharma Boy" who held the patents and was limiting and gouging drug prices for an Alzheimer's drug. The "bad guy" seems to have been based on Martin Shkreli, a former pharmaceutical executive notorious for sharply increasing drug prices. Interesting twist on current headlines of the time. However, the author hopped on the bandwagon of making all pharmaceutical companies the "bad guys" by having one of the characters spout many of the lies about the pharmaceutical industry. I found that offensive as my husband and many of our friends work on projects, both profit and nonprofit, that have made a world of difference for many both here at home and around the world. OK, off my soap box!
It was another fun installment and I look forward to see where the gang goes next!
This book is so far the best one of the series, in my opinion. I'm reading them in order so there are several yet to go. This story has mystery, intrigue, and romance. I'm not a fan of romance novels, but in these books, the romances are an integral part of the story. I like the way that Althea Rose is growing and developing. An important part to this book is the involvement of big pharma. I particularly liked the twists and turns in this unique story. I also really am a fan of the books not ending with a cliffhanger. The story is wrapped up in this book. I think you will want to read the next book, as do I, but because the books are good, not to have to find the solution to the story. I'm a fan and will read other series by this author when I've completed this one.
I cannot say enough good things about this cozy mystery series. The characters are entertaining and likeable, the plot as befits a cozy and the setting is to die for. If you enjoy a paranormal edge to your cozy, this is the series for you. Number 4 in the series didn't disappoint and I was very happy with the choices Althea made. She is owning who she is and becoming more confident in herself. It was evident in the way she refused to back down in Tequila Four. Althea refusing to apologize for the way she lives her life had me cheering. O'Malley exemplifies through Althea that you should never have to change who you are to be with someone. Unconditional means exactly that. Amusing and compromising situations, along with my favorite sidekicks: Luna, Miss Elva, Rafe and Trace, had me wishing I could take a trip to Tequila Key tomorrow. Maybe someday soon.
The series just keeps getting better. How can you not fall in love with all the witty, colourful characters in these books.
In this book Athela Rose and her mystery solving gang are trying to figure out who abducted a despicable billionaire, Chadwick Herrington, CEO of a pharmaceutical company. Herrington hires Athela to preform a reading for him and his guests at a private party on his Yatch. Unfortunately, Athela gets wrapped up in this mess and goes on a hunt for clues with the help of Magickal friends Miss Elva, Luna and Rafe (the ghost pirate). All the while, trying to sort out her whirlwind of a love life.
I am just going to say there is a juicy little ending!
I loved the twists and turns in this book and had fun reading this one. I can’t wait to read #5!
Another great book by the author! I’m loving the Tequila series (as I call it). Althea is forced to do a tarot reading on a yacht taking Miss Elva with her as a back up. From then on things go from bad to worse. Even Cash seems to have had enough of Althea’s meddling and they decide to call it quits much to the delight of her dive buddy Trace. Love us definitely in the air. All these characters are so likeable and even funny and I for one can’t wait to read the next book and see what happens. No diving in this story but I suppose they were too busy dealing with all that was happening. I definitely recommend this book and this series. Loving it!
These books keep getting better and better. Once again, there was a death, but was not the primary focus of the book. A mystery to solve, yes, but not a murder. The only “drawback to this book was I knew who dun it almost immediately. However, I didn’t know why they did. So, still a great mystery to be solved. It also seems that Thea solved her love triangle problem. I’m happy with her choice. Another good dose of Miss Elva here, but still less of Luna and Beau. A lot of fun and funny parts. Definitely a good read.
A very entertaining paranormal fiction series. A great cast of characters and a very entertaining storyline. A psychic a white which if you do priestess oh and don’t forget to toss in a ghost any number of other eclectic characters and there you have it. A paranormal fiction murder mystery Siri ‘s. Althea rows a psychic who may be much more than that is the main character who lives in a small town in the Florida Keys. Her and her friends have adventures and solve mysteries. Check it out you will not be disappointed.
I was debating whether or not to continue with the series. Then I read a review that mentioned Trace and Althea finally get together. I was getting bored with the back and forth of the two men. And was tired of Rafe. But really disappointed with Althea's character. She became so whiney and bitchy. I didn't care for it. This book came out so much better. I just hope Miss Elva gets back to normal in the next book. This new character she is exploiting is not true to who she is.
Was just ok. Didn’t hold my interest as well as the previous books in this series. The case in this one wasn’t very intriguing. Also I didn’t read the novella that takes place before this one because it’s not part of the main series so didn’t think it would matter but apparently I missed some important things by skipping it so was confused at first. Also there’s a lot of things that are getting too repetitive throughout the series. The whole love triangle thing is getting old fast.
This series gives me the unapologetic excuse to leave the sad and harsh reality of life in the real world. You can not only get to know each character intimately, but you feel like you are among friends when reading. The far- fetched idea of using magic in good ways becomes not such a leap for your imaginayion, and I love it!! Good plots, great friends, and even a romance or two......make for happy reading! Enjoy!
This series just keeps getting better and better, although there wasn't as much action this time, even though it was still Awesome 😃. Looks like the three best friends who are a VooDoo queen, a White Witch and a Kickass Physic are the Best at solving all sorts of problems 😉. Plus all the other fabulous characters in this little town 😊. Thanks again Tricia, I've truly fallen in Love with this series and can't wait to see what happens next 🤓.
Each book is already short. To have something major happen in 3.5 that affects the entire story line going forward is just ridiculous. I like the books, but this bit with Cash, who started out as an handsome, sexy, alpha male security specialist and is now a soft ass, worry wart, worried about what his family thinks of Althea is a complete turn off. Forget the ridiculous love triangle. The hijinks of what the gang gets up to is enough.
When if finished the box series I knew I had to continue with this book. More adventures for Althea her friend Luna and Miss Elva. When trouble comes to town it lands right in their laps. With the help of friends and their unique magic they solve problems, foil bad guys intent on killing them and peruse the men in their life. what more could you want.I highly recommend.
The Althea Rose series is a great little series of books. Light, Quirky and fun with a big dash of magic, romance and mystery. Each book is a stand alone book, but I recommend reading from the start as well as reading the two novellas between books 2&3 and 3&4. I started reading Tricia O’Malley last year with her Mystic Cove Series and Isle of Destiny series . I just love her books!
I just loved this continuation of the story of these great characters. It has it all in my opinion. A good story, with twists, turns, suspense, a great dog and best of all characters you can sink your teeth into and imagine fitting in your life. A really good read! If you haven't yet, go get book 1 and read them all.
Since Althea cleaned up her act and dropped the nasties, she is a fun person to be around. Trust me, you will feel like you are part of the action with the stories written by Tricia O'Malley. That's how believable her characters are. Another winner here. Going for #5 now and it will be great! Because they have all been fun reading so far.
