Tequila Four (Althea Rose Mystery, #4)

** spoiler alert **
This is more 3.5 and I’ve changed my ranking from 3 to 4 to 3 as it’s not either one. I’m left feeling more irritated than anything by the events, hence my settling on 3. My four main irritants with this book (+ 1 for the series) as of now:
- The whole on again, off again thing with Cash is getting irritating. Why are we still hashing that out? I thought this was resolved in book 2?
- Nathanial and Nico. Both work security. Both introduced at the same time. For the love of the goddess why?! Sure you make a point about the accent but then ever mention it again. So what’s the point of mentioning it? I’m reading along thinking, “but that doesn’t sound like that guy Only to find out at the end that I was thinking of the other male N who works security.
- Victoria. There was no need for that. Could still have the fund setup without that outcome. An attempt would’ve been sufficient.
- There was zero need for Althea to go on that dream walk. She did nothing in that scene. I know you needed to send her to keep the story moving but have her *do* something. Not just stand around and gawk at the room.
- Why are are all of these events happening in this sleepy little town in the span of what? Six months? Give us something. Althea is awakened to them because of her magic. She’s a nexus for life and death events. Something to make it plausible.
I’ll read book 5 as I’ve already bought it but Victoria’s storyline has seriously soured me on this series.
