I washed ashore in a little lake town.
A place where everyone knows everyone, yet
No one knows me.
I don’t know me.
If a woman doesn’t know her own name, does she really exist?
I don’t know my natural hair color, my birthdate, or where I live.
I am invisible.
To everyone, to everything, even to myself.
Except to him.
I see the recognition deep in his stare, the way it lingers on my face as if I’m a puzzle he’s desperate to put together.
I just want answers, the truth knowledge.
His lips are sealed. Still, his eyes beguile me.
I can’t trust anyone, not even myself. Someone wants me dead, the same someone who tried to bury me in a watery grave.
They’ll come for me again I won’t know their face.
I don’t even know mine.
I am amnesia.

”It wasn’t her. But oh my God, what if it was?

description

Wow, this is a great story! The excitement level truly kicks in as a reader is back and forth trying to figure out whether the woman rescued from the lake is in fact a girl named Sadie who went missing eleven years ago. Added to the mix is the fact that our heroine, Amnesia has no memory of who she is and what has happened to her. Oh and let’s not forget that there seem to be a few someone trying to kill her. There’s also a hero named Edward who falls crazy in love with the heroine and who knows if she truly is his lost love? Still, I didn’t know when I one-clicked that this book ends in one big CLIFFHANGER and that there will be a book releasing this summer.

description

It’s been many months and books that I have started and stopped and rated with just okay ratings and regardless of the sneaky cliffhanger, this was a fantastic and exciting story. The hero is fantastic, the small lake town alluring, and the mystery is simply off the hook!

description

The author’s storytelling will slowly consume you and yet you may think well this is going to end on a predictable note but lucky for me it surely doesn’t. Even though the love aspect may be rather instant the storyline itself is truly unpredictable! I would recommend friends one-clicking this book it’s a bit of something different

“My life was a beautiful lie. And beneath the beautiful lie lurked an ugly truth.

There was nothing to prepare me for the magnetism of this book. I was simply blown away! This book is my first read and it certainly did not disappoint. The book was filled to the brim with drama and danger, the mystery spot-on and perfectly delivered.

In a small, sleepy lake town in Maine, an unconscious lady was floating in the water and was found by Edward "Eddie" Donovan. It only took one look at her to recognize a familiar face from his past. He immediately took her to the local hospital. After two months of being in a coma, the lady woke up without a memory. Questions were hovering over her head and strange men were just around the corner, waiting to attack her. Little did she know that the answers can only be found in the lake.

“Now my biggest fear wasn't what if I never remembered... It was what if I did.

The book was unputdownable and it's because of the tight and engaging plot that continued to thicken chapter by chapter. The mystery was nicely executed and the suspenseful scenes grabbed me by the throat, so be prepared for this kind of effect when you read this book.

The fact that the story depicted abuse, the author didn't fail to capture the complicated emotions of the abused heroine Amnesia. I liked her character. She was brave and despite everything that she's been through, she always had the will to face her painful and terrifying past. When it comes to the romantic aspect, I loved it but not so much. Eddie and Amnesia's romance was heart-warming but it was hard for me to warm up to the insta-love and some cheesy dialogues which I considered the only drawback to this book.

One thing I should warn you about: The book ended up with a cliffhanger, so beware. I am excited to read the second book as so many questions are unanswered yet. As a whole, I highly recommend . This is a perfect choice if you're a fan of romantic suspense and mystery.

“Cross my heart.
Hope to die.
You will forever be mine.

REVIEW ALSO POSTED ON MY BLOG

God I don't know what to make of this one, do I give it 5 stars or 4 stars, I finished it so I must've liked it right? BUT just like the heroine so many unanswered questions, and I too feel like I have Amnesia, this book is shrouded in so much mystery, who is she? We still don't know..Fuck it 5 stars it is, only because I really really need the next book!! Sucky Sucky authors who make us wait!! GAH!!

‘Aѱ: is the first book in Cambria Hebert’s (Amnesia #1) series, and was my first time read by this author.

During one of Edwards nightly walks along the shoreline of Lake Lochlain he stumbles across a woman floating in the shallow waters drifting ashore. Upon reaching her he gives her CPR due to her shallow breaths. Looking at the woman closely you get the feeling that he knows her.

A nameless woman wakes up in the hospital, no recollection of her past, her name, nothing, no identification, a blank slate, all she knows is what the Doctors have told her.

She was brought in by a local resident nearly three months ago and is suffering various cuts and bruises to her body some due to her ordeal but others leave a question mark.

You have some scarring on your body. On your back and legs, some on your chest. The kind of scars that are consistent with regular abuse. You were also malnourished and dehydrated.

It seems like she is suffering from fugue amnesia where a patient’s memory may come back piece by piece or all at once.

After the night in question Edward has visited the hospital every single night. Something keeps drawing him to her, is she his lost childhood friend? Is she Sadie? One minute he thinks yes it is her, the next minute he's positive it's not. A race to uncover her memories.

Mystery cloaks the island set off shore, the old widow who lives there in a little old shack, no one is ever invited over there and she only comes to shore for supplies once every blue moon to stock up.

MY THOUGHTS:
This kept me on my toes throughout like Amnesia trying to put her memory back together, flash back by flash back we’re still trying to figure out who she really is.
Is she Sadie the young girl that went missing all those years ago, or is she someone else? You go into this book with curiosity you come out of it with many unanswered questions.
Such a tangled web of the unknown, needing, wanting, seeking answers that will hopefully be uncovered in the next book in the series.
So it kind of ends on a cliffhanger, with her identity still cloaked in mystery the only ones who know who she really is are not speaking. What horrors occurred on the island?

The heroine awakes in a hospital without a memory of who she is, or what brought her there. Amnesia, the name she gives herself, is a stranger in her own life. As she tries to piece together her life from before, she realizes it's one she no longer wants any part of.

Eddie, the man who found her unconscious, floating in the water of a lake, and saved her life becomes her best friend and eventually her lover. But, the truth about what happened to her that night isn't just buried deep inside of the girl’s memory - someone else knows, someone who wants to make sure the girl stays quiet.

This was an amazing book. It was exciting and was full of so many twists and turns that I just couldn't put it down. I was 100% into the story since I started reading it. The mystery was so intriguing and it kept me on the edge of my seat.

Amnesia’s loss of memory was exceptionally well-handled. I loved unraveling the mystery surrounding her and getting to know the real Amnesia better. It was an intense read, chills, thrills and a few sweet love scenes. The reader sees the unforlding of the story through both Eddie and Amnesia’s eyes, and the characterization is simply amazing.

I belonged to her. I almost felt as if I couldn't exist without her. That if she somehow vanished tomorrow, most of who I was would also disappear. ~ Eddie

Amnesia didn't represent something I'd lost anymore, but something I'd gained. Something I desperately wanted to keep. ~ Eddie

The ending left my mouth hanging open. And just like that, I have to endure the pain of waiting for the next book to be released I suggest adding this to your summer read list asap! You definitely won't regret it!

When Eddie was at the lake, he saw a body floating in the water. He hefted the body above the surface and took the body (a woman) to the hospital. He thought she was familiar to him but he wasn’t sure. Well, Amnesia was in a coma for almost three months and in these months Eddie was in her room till Amnesia woke up but the thing is when she was unconscious no one has come to identify her and when she woke up, she hadn’t any memory of who she is or what happened to her! nothing at all!

Well, from the beginning of the story some questions came up to me like; who is Amnesia really? Does Eddie know her and how? Have they had a past together? What happened to her? And more importantly who does want her dead?... At the end I got the answers for some of my questions (the easy ones and there were easy answers too) BUT the story ended in such a way that caused me more questions! Actually it was like what I knew till that time was wrong and I should search for new answers! I know it doesn’t make sense and it’s complicated but still! And that was the enjoyable part, pity it was at the end!

Told in dual POV, 1st person. It’s the first installment in the "Amnesia" series and it ends with a cliffhanger, a huuuuge one! Looking forward to reading the next book but not just immediately! All in all, I liked it and hope you enjoy it as well!

"I glanced down. She glanced up.Our stares collided. It was unsettling to realize how infinitely drawn to her I was."

The characters were both lovable.Eddie is protective, sweet and he feels so connected to Amnesia.Amnesia is an interesting character.I loved that she has humor even though her situation was serious.

I really enjoyed the final outcome and now I want more.If you are looking for a mysterious and twisted story , with a sweet romance this is what you need!!

Fuuuuuuck....

Imagine my fuckin surprised face when I realised that this is not a standalone novel?!

Now I'm kind of pissed off too cause i didn't expect it, I got ambushed, and I don't like the submissive disoriented feeling much either...😤😒

Well, aside the crappy feeling lingering, this was a bit different kind of read from what I am used to reading from Cambria Hebert and I most definitely liked the storyline!

A young man Eddie finds a girl afloat on a lake shore, unconscious, beaten and brused. The first sight of her reminds him of a girl he used to know-Sadie Gordon, a 14 year old who went missing in the very same lake 11 years ago, and Edward/Eddie has been living shattered by the guilt all this time!

He never stopped looking. He never stopped believing even when it was eating him alive inside...he never stopped hoping.

Could it be true?!

Could she be her?!

And if yes, where the hell has she been all these years?!

And what the hell happened to her?!

So many questions...so little answers...

This battered girl can't give them...cause she does't know her name, she doesn't know who she is, she doesn't know anyone or anything...she's AMNESIA
Patients with fugue amnesia forget their entire past but also their identity. They have no idea who they are. Even reminding them who they are, showing pictures, etc. doesn’t jog their memory...

and her story is yet to be unraveled...and with his help it slowly will come to some sort of closure and to the point where to Eddie it doesnt matter anymore-if she's his long lost friend or a girl he undeniably fell for.
Amnesia didn’t represent something I’d lost anymore, but something I’d gained. Something I desperately wanted to keep

but the danger is still out there, waiting, watching, pacing, until it strikes again...

Romantic suspense, and a thriller with a mysterious creepish mist somewhat similar to the one in the popular David Lynch's series "Twin Peaks".

Even though, Cambria here intertwins the romantic notion developing between the main characters, the lingering mystery ans pent up anticipation of peeled layers is somewhat sullen and mild in nature but it still keeps you guessing and wondering...what the hell happened?!

And just like Amnesia/Sadie, we are left in doubt, stunned...
Who was I really?

Fuckin A...now we have to endure until summer to find out the answer to that everlasting question.

The Sirens are BR-ing.

“The sun sees your body, but the moon sees your soul.

Amnesia is the story of a small town, where one evening a young woman washes up on the shore of the lake. Eddie, who works at the local grocer, finds this young woman and runs her to the hospital. Once she wakes up a few weeks later, she has no memory of who she is and what had been done to her leading up to her ending up in the water.

Eddie becomes obsessed with Amnesia (as she chooses to call herself) as she reminds him of someone from his past. The two spend a lot of time together, but he’s advised by her doctors to keep his suspicions a secret. Also, someone in town doesn’t appear to be happy that Amnesia is around, and has been watching and threatening her.

“Nothing can stay paused forever. Eventually, you have to hit play.

I’ve only ever read the book #Nerd by Cambria Hebert, and I enjoyed it very much. Plus, she’s an absolute sweetheart in real life so I’ve always been meaning to read more of her books. Rave reviews and an interesting memory loss premise are what attracted me to this book. That and an outstanding cover. The book really started out strong, sucking me into the story. Where it fell a bit flat for me was it slowed down about halfway through and seemed a bit too long.

On top of that we have a cliffhanger ending, and I kind of already have my theories what will happen in the next book. I would have been happier with a longer book and gotten all the answers right away than wait for a second book. Plus the romance was a bit too sweet for my personal tastes, but that’s just me.

If you want to read something different and well written, this is the book for you. Suspenseful and filled with kind hearted characters, many reader will love this mystery small town love story. It honestly reminded me of a Nora Roberts type novel.

My Thoughts

What a great story!
It was a perfect combination of suspense, mystery and romance.
The characters and story were well-developed and well written.
The story starts out with Eddie walking along the shore one night and sees something floating in the water. When he swims out to see what it is, he discovers it's an unconscious woman.
Eddie races to get her to shore where he performs CPR and revives her.

The young woman is taken to the hospital and after months of waiting, she awakes without a memory of what happened to her or even knowing her name.
Eddie can't let his mysterious woman go.

As Eddie and Amnesia (this is what the woman wants to be called) spend more time together, a sacred bond develops between them.
There is also danger following Amnesia wherever she goes, because she still doesn't know what happened to her or where she came from.

If you've read any of Cambria Hebert's other work, this is nothing like her other work.
I'm SO glad she listened to the characters voices in her head and wrote this story!

I can't wait to read the second part of this story to find out what happens next!

Cliffhanger. Will review after book 2, the conclusion.
01/18/18
Wow!! I just finished book 2 of this duet.
Great story and well told over the course of both books. I really enjoyed reading both of them.
Some emotional reading. What I liked best about this one was observing the budding relationship deepen between Eddie and Amnesia while she deals with her memory loss and struggles to find her identity as a person.
Eddie was just simply adorable and Amnesia (her self chosen name) was fascinating-she had an innocence about her even though it is clear that she has survived some terrible trauma and her mind has chose to block it all out.

I’m speechless. This book is so, so good! It’s brilliant! I do need the next part right now! I have wanted to read this book since I saw the gorgeous cover. I started it as soon as it was released and I was immediately hooked. I kept turning the pages, wanting to know more. I finished this book yesterday and I still think about a lot.

Eddie is walking along the shoreline of a lake and finds a woman drowning in the lake. He saves her and rushes her to the hospital. The woman eventually wakes up, but she can’t remember anything about her past or who she is. She wants to be named Amnesia from now on. Eddie visits Amnesia every single day in the hospital. They become friends and eventually more.

I loved everything about this book: the characters, the relationship between Amnesia and Eddie, the setting (the small town with his legends), the progress and the mystery. This book is so mysterious, intriguing, romantic and suspenseful. There are so many twists and turns and I never expected them. I stopped guessing after a while and just enjoyed the ride.

I absolutely adored Eddie and Amnesia. Amnesia handles her situation like a champion. I think I wouldn’t be as strong as she is. She’s so, so strong. Amnesia wants to start a new life as soon as she leaves the hospital. She doesn’t want to be treated differently. Amnesia is happy that she has Eddie. The few memories Amnesia has aren’t pretty, but she still wants to know what happened to her and who she is. I also want to know her past and who she is!

Eddie is a fantastic man! He’s sweet, caring, kind, protective and loving. He works hard at the store that he will take over from his dad one day. Eddie is always there for Amnesia. He helps her with whatever he can. He drops everything when she needs him. He always believes her. Amnesia feels safe and protected by Eddie. He promises her that he would never hurt her or let anyone hurt her. Eddie loves spending time with her and he wants to be with her.

This book is the reason why I need half stars, because it's the definition of a 4.5 rating.

Truth is, the very beginning didn't compel me. It was interesting and intriguing, and I loved Eddie from day 1, but it wasn't... addictive. The focus was more on the mystery, on what Amnesia was going through, and the almost insta-quality of the romance didn't appeal to me. Of course, as the story progresses we understand why it was so instant, especially on Eddie's part.

It's different from what I usually read by this author but I have to say, it was just as good. Hebert's style is truly amazing and the atmosphere she created in Lake Loch is wonderful. Mysterious, yet lovely. It has the charm of the small town, and yet there's also something creepy about it.

After the first, slow start, the romance definitely picked up and I simply adored Eddie's personality. He's an alpha male, but also a gentleman and a nice guy. Hebert has this way of creating male characters that are assertive but at the same time never overbearing. They'd do anything for the heroine and are so thoughtful and caring! Eddie was no exception. He did all these little things for Amnesia, like bringing her hot chocolate, worrying about how she's feeling, shielding her with his body when she's upset by something. Another thing about him I adored was that he manned the main grocery store of the town and was happy about it. It was his family's story and he was so passionate about it. It was his pride and joy. I'm so fed up with all these high-profile, unrealistic jobs and Eddie was the perfect example of how amazing a character can be when he's... real.

"He's sweet."
Maggie laughed. "Sweet is one way to put it. A pit bull is another."
"A pit bull?" I questioned, not quite making the connection.
She nodded sagely. "He's mighty protective over you. I pity anyone who even looks at you funny."

Amnesia didn't blow me away as a character, but she was very likable and sweet. She was the perfect match for Eddie and, in the end, she also showed her strength. She's a fighter, a survivor, and I look forward to read more about her and her journey back to normality.

"I won't be the same. I won't be like I am now. Yes, I'm damaged... but that girl I was before... I think she might have been destroyed."
What could a man say? What did he say when the woman he loved, the woman he was admittedly obsessed with, told him she could change in the blink of an eye?

As far as the mystery is concerned... it was GREAT. Now, I'm not just talking about how she ended up in the lake, but also about something else, regarding another girl. Most of the book I was tethering on the edge of "mmmh, it's her... it's not her..." I'm not going to spoiler anything, but I appreciated how the author left me hanging, feeding me false leads and doubts. It kept me on my toes. Plus, I had suspected another person to be behind all the creepy facts and I was... well, not completely blind-sided, but at least taken-aback.

The romance was probably my favorite part. Eddie and Amnesia have this amazing bond, and this wonderful chemistry. I loved to see them date, and how they slowly became part of each other's lives. Given how Amnesia doesn't have anyone, she clings to Eddie and they soon become an item. It was very natural.

I propped my feet on the desk, leaning back in the chair. Amnesia's legs hung over the side, but the rest of her cuddled into my chest. "Tell me about your day," she said.
"It was boring," I muttered.
"I just want to hear your voice." She sighed, pressing a little closer.
Far to be it from me to deny this woman anything.

In conclusion, highly recommended. The only minor flaw was the initial part that didn't grip me, but already 20% in I was hooked. The romance was fantastic and I can't wait for Amnesty to be out!

"You kiss me," she said.
"No."
Her eyes widened with shock, and she drew back slightly. "What?"
"You want these lips, come get 'em." I said.

I'm going to reiterate what Alex, my fellow Goodreader said: *warning* This book ends on a cliffhanger.

BUT, most of the important questions/secrets were answered so I wasn't anal over it; it wasn't nearly as catastrophic as it could have been. However if you want to wait for the conclusion, I would advise not reading this until the second book comes out.

The heroine is found floating ashore by a handsome man named Eddie who saves her. Upon her awakening two months later following a coma, she has no recollection of her past or identity. The doctor labels it "fugue amnesia" a term coined to describe the victim's brain blocking out a traumatic memory as a preventative measure.

"So severe, it may be better if she never gets her memory back.
- Doctor

Meanwhile, Eddie, believes he recognises the heroine, the whole town speculating whether she is a girl from the past. The similarities uncanny, but the chances slim to none.

“It wasn’t her.
But oh my God, what if it was?

- Edward

Eddie knows his heart, and he knows this girl. No one has come to claim her in the months of her disappearance...

I’ll claim her. I’ll claim her right now.
- Edward

The attraction grows...

“His dimples always made my stomach flutter, and the way his eyes always looked at me as if he’d known me forever gave me some sort of peace.

- Amnesia

With a dangerous predator after Amnesia to permanently make her disappear, she realises that though alive, she isn't safe at all. Most of all, she isn't safe from the flashes of memories that remind her of who she was...

"Show me what it’s like to be in love—to be loved—before memories shatter the idealistic mind I own right now

My rating dipped as the novel went further along. Nothing major. Tentative sex scenes. I felt dissatisfied at points with her "you are my first" garbage, to the hero not being as possessive or protective as I would have preferred especially considering nature of her arrival, and the threats she faced. I don't know, but he seemed more shredded up over the past than their present climate. They were clumsy with her safety and mental health when it should have been at the forefront of both their minds. But suspenseful nonetheless. Will be continuing.

I am so behind in doing reviews but I needed to do this one right away. I am so impressed with this story. I have been dying to read a good suspense/romance for some time now. I usually stay away from books with cliffhangers but the second book says it will be released later this summer, so I let it slide and picked it up the second I read the synopsis.

I have never read anything by this author before and I am deeply saddened by that fact because her writing is phenomenal and she tells the story flawlessly. From beginning to end I was invested and not once was I bored.

You have this girl who washed up on the shore of some huge lake in Maine. She ends up in a coma for a few months and when she wakes up you learn that she has in fact lost her memory. She literally has zero recollection of who she is - from her name to where she is and what happened to her and everything in between.

"Why does it happen?"
"Well, in most cases, it's because the person has suffered something severely traumatic. So much so their mind wipes out everything as a protective measure."

description

Eddie, the man who saves her becomes slightly obsessed with her. He visited every day while she was in the coma. You learn that eleven years prior he lost his best friend. A girl. A girl who disappeared in the lake one late night. And he thinks that this might be her. Losing her destroyed him once but he still isn't positive it is her and it's not like she can help him with this little dilemma.

description

They obviously fall in love. Memories come back slowly. Shit hits the fan. There is a little resolution but you're still left with not knowing WHO. Who took her? Where has she been? What happened to her all that time? Is it really the same girl from eleven years before? NOTHING IS CONFIRMED. So, there is still a lot to cover in the second book.

However, there is one thing that remains. The love that these characters have for each other is unstoppable. So, I am hoping nothing comes between them in the second book and they can remain absolute and fight this together. And by this ... I mean whom.

“Cross my heart.
Hope to die.
You will forever be mine.

Now to wait until the next one is released...

It’s been awhile since I’ve read a Cambria Hebert book. I loved some of the books of the Hashtag series, but I stopped reading them because it had too much angst. I love the Amnesia cover and the raving reviews sucked me into this book.

Overall, I would say the book was okay. It wasn’t great, but it wasn’t bad. It’s a good suspenseful book to read if you are on a long trip or it’s a rainy day. The main issue I had with this book was the fact it was REALLY DAMN LONG. I don’t have anything against long books, but I found myself not really caring at certain parts. I mean, it was so long, it took me weeks to finish this book. I kept on putting it down every 10-15% because I stopped being interested.

The book is about Amnesia (I really hated her name, I don’t know why. I usually don’t care for the Heroine’s name, but this one just rubbed me the wrong way. Every time I read her name, I kept on thinking what a horrible name, but I digress). Amnesia washes up ashore, like Prince Eric on Little Mermaid. Edward saves Amnesia (Am) and he kind of sticks to her.

I mean, he’s all up in Am’s business and I really loved that about him. I love a good damsel book and Edward was my awesome Hero that cared for Am fiercely, to the point of possessiveness, which I loved.

There’s a lot of questions that come to play, like Who is Am? Where did she come from? Why did she wash up to shore? What’s with all the town secrets?

I really enjoyed trying to discover all the secrets and how everyone was related. I kind of wish there was more of this. I felt like the pace was REALLY SLOW. The storyline was subtle, so if you are into that, then this is for you.

The relationship between Edward and Am is a slow burn and I really liked that. I liked how they slowly got together (yes I know, I say the book dragged, but I like the slow developing relationship, it makes sense in my head).

I can see why some loved this book and although it wasn’t a complete hit for me, I thought it was ok. Oh and this

Amnesia is the story of a girl that is found floating in the lake. Eddie rescues her and stays by her side at the hospital. She wakes up without any memories and insists on being called Amnesia. Eddie and Amnesia soon become friends and eventually something more. After some time memories surface and secrets are revealed.
Cross my heart.
Hope to die.
You will be forever mine.

I'm having a hard time rating this book. It started out great, I was intrigued. But it dragged on and on and at some point it was a bit too sappy, even for me. I'm still curious about what will happen in the second book but after finishing I didn't have the urge to read book #2 right away.

A reader’s worst nightmareis the dreaded BOOK SLUMP! So, when I spot a new book release with a book blurb that intrigues at first scan, prettily wrapped in a spot-on and mesmerizing cover, and written by a new-to-me author that’s getting rave reviews, I am prone to grab it and one-click. This book kicked me out of my slump and hot damn, that makes everything groovy!

If you’re looking for romantic suspense that’s intense with absolutely captivating characters, look no further. I could not put this book down. I didn’t just read the pages I lived inside themalongside the characters. Still distressed and reeling from that abruptly thrown cliffhanger, I’m not sure I’ll be able to forgive the author for that little torture session. But one thing I know for sure I will one-click the conclusion to this saga the moment it’s released. Amnesia is just too mysteriously eerie with characters who shine even in the darkestof settings, leaving questions unanswered that can’t be ignored. The evilness that fills the night air surrounding the little town is closer than one might imagine. The author has woven two threads with ease — mystery and romance that are balanced and evenly interspersed throughout inwhat is one of the best mysteries I’ve read in ages.

The story unfolds with the rolling tide. In a small, touristy town in Maine, while out for his evening walk, Eddie Donovan finds a young woman floating in the dark watersand he pulls her to shore. When he looks into her face, a decade of haunting memories surface and sharp feelings of loss and guilt stare back. When the beautiful young woman wakes from a coma two months later in a hospital, she has no clue who or where she is with no sense of self. Fittingly, she dubs herself “Amnesia.

Amnesia’s character exudes strength in facing her fears. Even with the physical and emotional scars as reminders of the abuse and nightmares she has suffered, she’s determined to make a fresh start. She never once complains or feels sorry for herself. Her focus is on moving forward. I wasin awe of her character, whotruly earned my admiration, respect andstole my heart.

Eddie is remarkable in his role as an extraordinary and terrific hero. He is a true protector. At times, he seems a little too good to be true. His past holds its own years of loss and stolen happiness and guilt. Through it all, he’s got a kind word and a smile for everyone. Most of all, he’s there for the lost girl that has stolen his heart.

No story is complete without angst, fear, sadness, lossand drama no romantic suspense anyway. And this one certainly hits all those marks. With a dark twist to this story which will leave you on the edge of your seat as you try to unravel the mystery behind Amnesia, and the identity of who left her in the lake to die. When flashes of sinister images begin to return with memories of who she was, danger nips at her heels, and threats become real against her life, she knows she’s not safe and she fears for Eddie’s safety, too.On one hand, there’s so much sadness and tragedy, while on the other, you’ll find a perfect blend of sweet encounters filled with lively banter within the growing passion between Eddie and Amnesia.

Cambria Hebert delivers an epic tale of romance and longing, where past and present collide, and a future together is uncertain for two young lovers. A spellbinding story of a young woman whose memories have been lost, along with the dark and ugly secrets they hide. And of ayoung boy who has grown into a man, while never forgetting the loss of his best friend on a tragic night long ago. Wonderfully written from each main character’s perspective, the relationship between Amnesia and Eddie is clear and straightforward in itspresentation. There’s never any rushed feeling, and their story alwayscomes across as honest which enables readers to connect and experience the steps of growth in their relationship from all angles, even while they are hit from all sides with long-kept secrets and potentially lethal danger. Along with discovering oneself and the healing powers of love, lessons in the joys of friendship remind us to laugh, love and live life to the fullest —eachday is precious —so, make each one count.

Take a dive into thedeep end of some very murky waters. A well-crafted tale packaged with smart twists and unforgettable characters. A suspense-filled story that will grip readers like a wild current, guiding and taking them downriver toward the inevitable rockyandbreathtaking plot twist. Truly a hypnotic and haunting mystery. The payoff is a jolting and jaw-dropping ending. With the promise of submerged truths surfacing in the highly anticipated conclusion, life must go on until the fog liftsover Lake Loch, and we return once again.

WOW what a book!!!!!

This is the first book I've read of Cambria, it certainly won't be the last!!

This story had everything, mystery (it's been a while since I read a book with so much mystery!) friendship (this little town certainly has interesting characters) love (my new favourite couple, Am and Eddie are so freaking adorable!)

Seriously Eddie is such a fantastic guy, I wish he was real! lol! This man would do everything for the woman he loves, dreamy sigh....

Am suffered so much and continues not to know all the answers, she is such an amazing character to read, her strength speaks volumes!

I can't wait for the sequel!!! This story is far from over! As the saying goes...patience is a virtue!

While he was out on his nightly walk by the lake. Eddie our H found a bobbing object (his first thought) that turned out to be a person. When he saw the face, memories of the past came rushing back. Could it be???

Amnesia a woman who lost her memory. Is it better to remember or start a new life with new memories?

I love a good mystery even if I suck at solving doesn't deter me. The first couple of chapters I was holding my breath wondering if someone is really trying to kill her or is it brought on by the trauma?

The circumstances that brought Eddie and her together was odd and I get the attraction. But in the end, I feel like Eddie wouldn't be with her if she didn't have similarities with an old friend. Maybe in the second book, I can feel he's into her and not stuck with someone in the past?

Sorry Alex for not loving this as much. I am a mixed bag of feelings with this book.

3 estrelas

Então, pretendo, sim, ler a continuação. Vamos ver como vai ser...

Wow I can't decide if I'm disturbed by what I just read or in awe of the story that just flows from this author. This is the first book I've read by her and I'm impressed. And that is saying alot! I've been in a bit of a book slump lately but I was immediately drawn to this novel. This small quiet town seems so tranquil until a girl washes ashore. Bizarre doesn't begin to describe the random events that unfold and that give a minor glimpse of who Amnesia might be. It's a group of dark, twisted plots around every corner but light and breathtaking romance that works it's way in your heart. I'm not sure if I was able to put this book down or not, I just remembered being finished and not ready for the story to be over. Captivating, strong and so worth the one click!

AMAZING READ!!!

Edward is walking along the lake shore lost in thought. He looks out at the water at the same time something bobs up and down. He rushes in. It is a barely dress, unconscious, girl/young woman. He is stunned when he sees her face and it looks like a ghost from his past. He rescues her, saves her life and rushes her to the ER when she will be in a coma for 2 months. He will visit everyday. Haunted by the past and the present.

When the girl wakes up she has no memory. Doctors check ups reveal severe trauma upon her but she remembers nothing, not even her name. She goes about calling herself Amnesia. When she asks if anyone has come looking for her she learns only one person the boy who rescued her. Soon she meets him and they build a friendship which will lead to more.

He is the one person who makes her feels safe. The one person who accepts her for who she is, as she is. Once released the bound grows. But darkness lurks as there are many freaky appearances of a shadowy figure that is trying to kill or kidnap her.

Now I wont say much more other than.... Wow, what a thrill ride, suspense, romance and the "who-dunnit" aspect make you read each page faster and faster. I loved this book. I will advise there is a cliffy and a book #2 said to be released this year.

I highly recommend this book to all my friends and followers.

This is so far one of my favorite reads in 2017 even though this book contains elements I usually don't like :) It is a little bit suspense but not too much and it ends in a cliffhanger but I think I can live with it for now. I'm looking forward to read book 2! Great job Cambria Hebert I didn't expect something like Amnesia!

It was a great book and I am so impressed with this story. It started out a little slow, although the more I went towards the end less I could put the book down.
And of course there is a cliffhanger but the next book will be out soon.

Genre: Romantic Suspense

It's no secret that I am a Cambria Hebert fangirl. One of my favorite series EVER was written by her and I have been hooked on her books since then. (PS: That series is the #Hashtag series- a must read). So when I found out she was writing a brand new book, with brand new characters, and a more suspenseful story line, I knew I had to read it.

Amnesia isn't like Cambria's previous books. Well, not her beloved #Hashtag and #Gearshark series anyway. Those books are much lighter novels filled with romance and sports. With Amnesia, we get more of a romantic suspense novel. It's about a girl named Amnesia (no, that's not her "real" name) who wakes up from a 2 month coma. Unfortunately, when she does wake, she has no memories of the past. How did she get there? Where was she prior to being in the hospital? Where did she come from? And why does she have signs of abuse written all over her body?

Very slowly, Cambria starts to answer these questions. We may not get all the answers we so desperately crave, but we get small glimpses and ideas as to what really happened to her. With that, I have to say that Cambria does a wonderful job with slowly releasing the tension in this novel. I NEEDED to know who this girl was. I NEEDED to know everything that happened to her. But some of these questions are left unanswered (so be warned of that) but will be revealed in the next novel, Amnesty, coming this summer.

Eddie... Eddie is the hero of the story. He is the one that finds Amnesia as she is slowly dying in the lake. He saves her life. He falls in love with her. Everything happens really quickly with them. But there may be a reason. One that again, slowly unfolds throughout the novel. Sure, you'll have more questions then answers, but once they DO reveal themselves, I think it will be EPIC.

I don't know where this series is going. But I can tell you that I am excited to find out.

If you're a fan of romantic suspense novels- this is your book. If you don't mind those ugly cliffhangers, then I recommend this to you. And if you like novels that slowly build the tension then you need to pick up this one.

It's not my favorite by Cambria. But it's a good one. And I would recommend it to fellow readers.
