Ben M. Baglio created the brief for two series of children's books - Dolphin Diaries and Animal Ark. Dolphin Diaries features a girl and her family from Florida, who travel around the world as marine biologists and study dolphins. Animal Ark features two children who work together to help animals and solve animal-related mysteries. The books were written by commissioned writers in the UK under Baglio's instruction using the pseudonym . Each ghostwriter is named with a 'Special Thanks' on the copyright page.
Using his real name he also wrote the book series The Pet Finders Club, featuring a group of three children who search for peoples lost pets.
I love this series! This particular story (#6 of 10) takes place in a fascinating part of the world and introduced me to river dolphins. Simple and sweet stories and characters and so much information! LOVE! On to the next one!
This book was very poorly written, and almost painful to read. The most annoying thing about this book was at the end of almost every line of dialogue ended with a "she/he said". You NEVER end dialogue with "He said". Ugh, so annoying. It was literally like a fifth grader wrote this book, which wouldn't seem so bad but this man was born in 1980...so yeah, definitely not in fifth grade anymore. Anyways, the storyline wasn't very exciting at all. A girl has a family that is into marine biology stuff, they are ALMOST killed at the beginning by a hurricane, but (unfortunately) they outrun the storm. The girl loves animals, especially dolphins, blah-blah. At the end she says goodbye to some dolphins she meets and CRIES. I hate giving out my opinion like this, but COME ON, it's AWFUL. There's literally NOTHING about this book that was good. I'm thankful that I have never read any of the other books of this series. And I'm pretty sure I won't ever read them. Maybe if this story had an interesting story line, and was written well, it could be good. I thought I would like this because it was about animals, and Bambi just made me sad. I almost didn't read it because the cover looked stupid. SO, the moral of the story is, apparently, you CAN in fact, judge a book by its cover. Looked stupid, ended up being stupid, COINCIDENSE?? I think not. I recommend this book to children 5th grade and below. Even then I don't think they would like it. But, judging by all the reviews EVERYONE liked it, except me. Just like Wicked, I was like, one of the only people that liked it. Maybe I'm just really bad at judging books. Whatever, I thought it was bad, terrible job Ben M. Baglio. Keep trying, OR DON'T, PLEASE DON'T. Just do us all a favor =) and stop.
Another really good series of books by Lucy Daniels, I was completely in love with these books when I was younger. This series I particularly likes as it was Dolphin based ands they used to be my favourite animal when I was younger.
If you like animals you cannot help but love these books when you are a child.
My mom got these books for me for Chirstmas in like, third grade, but unfortunatly, I wasn't that into them. I only read them because I wanted to buy some other books, but my mom said I had to read those first.
