Poor Yukine! His story is so tragic and this volume lays it bare and makes it bloom into a public awareness issue on several fronts. How often do we see things we choose to ignore? What if did something about that? Would it be enough? Or would we still wear blinders of a sort? I was surprised by the Crafter's reaction, but Yato and Kazuma have the harder journey here, which compounds Yukine's heart wrenching situation. We also get updates on Bishamon, and also the other gods as they help Ebisu get closer to determining the Crafter's identity. This may have started off as a comedy but it's certainly not funny but I'm not sure it quite qualifies as horror either. It's sad. And the fact that there's more of reality in this volume is even sadder.
Noragami vol. 23 takes a deep dive into the desperation of Yuki and leaves the reader wanting more with a cliffhanger of an ending. The pace is mixed, fast in some chapters, slower in others. The twists are plenty, but the atmosphere is dark and depressing. Still, a top notch work by a top notch artist.
I don't know if I will ever not be interested in the stories that Noragami tells. It is a superb example of how an A+ manga should be. Fantastic characters, well connected plots, and action to die for.

Wow this was a really intense volume. The manga has definitely taken a much darker tone than I remember. I sense that the final battle between Yato and Father is coming up, and I'm interested to see how Yukine's past fits into it. Yukine's transformation is really something.
The angst of this arc is honestly breaking my heart. But it is so beautifully told, with the breathtaking images and dialogues that only Adachitoka knows how to do. Honestly, the way the characters evolve with the plot is unlike any other manga. Yato, Yukine and Hiyori all have such complex personalities, and the way their bonds move and evolve with time gets me so emotional. I truly do not think any manga has made me feel as much as Noragami.
THIS IS THE BEST NORAGAMI BOOK YET. I was brought to tears because wth with that plot twist. I feel so bad about what happened to Yukine and I cried because the rock, paper, scissors thing was so painful. I hope that Yukine and Yato's fathers go to hell by the end. And burn there forever. Much love to Yukine and Yato! >3
ahhhh i want to see more of our goddess hiyori ;__; ! I hope she finds yukine and gets him to come back to his senses! My heart aches seeing how far Yukine had been manipulated and used by Yatos father....when Yukine goes into a rant explaining his view and how he can make the world more pure now (with his power) it really scared me,,, he doesn't understand how to much of something, whether it be deemed good or not, is never the answer. Ahhh that poor soul who got ganged up in the end for dropping his cigarette ToT,,, they could've just asked him to pick it up instead of insulting his character...
