Roger Hargreaves was a British cartoonist, illustrator and writer of children's books. He created the Mr. Men series, Little Miss series and Timbuctoo series, intended for young readers. The simple and humorous stories, with bold, brightly coloured illustrations, have sales of more than 85 million copies worldwide in 20 languages.
Poor Miss Shy. She is practically agoraphobic. She hides from the mailman knocking. I had a season in my life I was practically the same way. It was very difficult, but luckily, I got through it. She is invited to a party by Mr. Funny and she is in misery going back and forth of I want to go, I can’t go.
Thank goodness, Mr Funny comes over and forces her to go and she has fun at the party. She even meets Mr. Quiet. It’s actually very cute. The great wallpaper is back in this one.
Again, I had to force the nephew to read this and once he say all the Mr. Men in the story, he ended up enjoying the story. He gave this 3 stars.
I absolutely loved these Mr Men and Little Miss books. I remember getting them from my granny every week. There was so much from these simple characters, I remember filling my little bookshelf with all these books making sure I had got them all in right order. I wish I still had these books but somehow most of them got lost with many house moves or my mum gave the rest away. If I ever have kids, I will make sure they get the chance to experience these wonderful, colourful books.
Ah, Mr Men and Little Miss, how wonderful you are!
These books made up so much of my childhood. No matter what I would go ahead and pick one up. I worked my way through them all a couple of times. Each one has a wonderful story for the child to engage with, each character being fun to read.
Everyone has a bias for their favourite character, yet every book is delightful.
Being shy is good, but sooo, tooo and veryyy like Little Miss Shy is not accepted, we need to be brave even a little, I felt happy for the little miss when Mr. Funny came to take her to the party, felt great to read she talked and giggled ^_^
Little Miss Shy is invited to Mr. Funny's party but this worries her because many people will be there. Mr. Funny comes to get her and she meets Mr. Quiet there.
Like the Mr. Men books, I can't remember how many of these I read throughout my childhood, but they're all wonderful. And I wouldn't mind giving them a go again!
Read this to the little girl I babysit, and I really enjoyed it. I love how this series really emphasizes just how different people can be, and that it's okay. :)
at first i thought madame timide was a whiny little bitch but then i realized she actually has anxiety which is kinda sad. i’m glad monsieur rigolo was there for her and i’m glad she has a crush on monsieur silence, it’s cute. loved the end.
Little Miss Shy is so shy, so scared of people and leaving her house, it's adorable. A sweet little children's story with a nice message on confidence.
Communication and friendship are key. And parties are fun! People are shy at heart, just more or less shy than others, in how they express it.
This has to be my absolute favorite and I am not even half way through the series yet. Many readers can relate to this little tale and all you need is to meet someone just like you. The ending is hilarious.
The story of how easy it is to overcome crippling social anxiety without the aid of medication or cognitive behavioural therapy. Just get dragged to a party and all will be fine!

Another Hargreaves winner here with Little Miss Shy, a book about the shy and introverted and about friendship and reaching out to others. Great stuff! Little Miss #10
While I never owned the Little Miss Shy book as a child, she has been my absolute favourite Mr Men / Little Miss character since I was nine.
I first discovered her while watching the TV show from the 1990s, and I absolutely adored her. I related extremely to her social anxiety and fear of people. It was so wonderful to feel seen and represented for a trait that is typically presented in such a negative and wrong light.
Little Miss Shy is so sweet. Her romance with Mr Quiet is top tier, all of her TV voices are unbearably cute, she's relatable, and her moments of courage are thrilling.
I constantly watched read-alouds of Little Miss Shy on YouTube, including videos that displayed the whole book, so I suppose it counts as ebooks. I hunted down all the episodes featuring her and replayed all her scenes. An AMV of her introduced me to the wonderful vocaloid song, トエ (Toeto). I bought Little Miss Shy And The Fairy Godmother and read it repeatedly.
To finally read Little Miss Shy in person is such a delight. Her character has brought me so much comfort, and I have such fond memories of watching her episodes with one of my primary school best friends.
This story is quite sweet, assuming Little Miss Shy wanted to go to the party but just needed a prod to be brave enough to try. Of course if people genuinely do not want to leave their home, do not force them! But it's clear from Little Miss Shy's changing her mind, and her being sad at missing the party, that she genuinely wanted to go.
