Faizal has a wonderful writing style. As always, I was very into the heist plot, and I think the execution was believable and had enough moving parts to keep it interesting. Arthie’s character was fun to read, and I liked the details of the world-building.

One of my criticisms is that the romance felt too heavy of a subplot. This is definitely more of a personal gripe, though, since reading about romance isn’t exactly my cup of tea (haha, tea reference). I also didn’t enjoy Flick’s perspective as much as I thought I would (also a personal opinion)—I just wasn’t able to sympathize with her enough as a character to understand her actions, especially since she was wishy-washy about them (although this seems to be intentional, so again, this is just a me thing).

On a more positive note, I enjoyed the plot twists and the execution of the ending—that had me staying up to finish reading it! I read this a while back and it was pretty good! The character dynamics were fun, the cliffhanger at the end was a good lead-in to the next book, and the premise was compelling. What was lacking for me was that the narrative didn’t feel like it had a clear direction throughout the middle section of the book. However, there were some great action scenes and I enjoyed some of the nuance with the Pilots� characters. Overall, this was a gripping read! ]]>
