R.J. Theodore Thank you! Which story you want to start with depends on what you like! :) For pirate adventure, the Peridot Shift novel series is the way to go. For space exploration, you'll want to check out Ehli in The Phantom Traveler.

Among my short fiction, there's lots of short Peridot tales, like "Gods-rotted Escort Mission" or "The Glowkeeper." There are also stand-alone pieces you can find right now and read for free, like "A Ship With No Parrot" (sf, ~1000 words) on Metastellar or "Oversharing" (horror, ~700 words) on Fireside Magazine.

I hope that helps! Enjoy!
R.J. Theodore Absolutely! I'm finishing up revisions on Book Two (SALVAGE) right now and will announce the release date as soon as my publisher confirms it. The third book's first draft is my next project.
So glad you're enjoying FLOTSAM! Thanks for your question.
R.J. Theodore FLOTSAM was originally inspired by Disney's Pirates of the Caribbean, but as I created the story I added elements of every kind of book and movie I enjoy, until the story had aliens, magic, mythology, and a kickass female protagonist in addition to the swashbuckling piracy.
R.J. Theodore Quiet, peaceful moments. Usually driving or showering or doing something where I can't write down the ideas that come to me. I also read a LOT (I usually have three books or more going at a time). Non-fiction also tends to trigger ideas that are louder than others.
R.J. Theodore Phantom Traveler Season One. The continuation of Ehli Landor's story from The Bantam. The unedited episodes air every other week through my Patreon page, and the finished seasons will be packaged into a novella and released the following year.
R.J. Theodore Create a consistent writing habit. Don't wait on the "muse" to show up and drown you in inspiration. Books are hard work, but consistent effort chips away at the process more predictably than waiting for the perfect moment.
R.J. Theodore Sharing my stories with other people.
R.J. Theodore I just keep working. I can edit later, re-write, or change course. But giving in to writer's block feels worse than writing something that needs serious revisions.
