Jerry Travis Hi Joseph. Thanks for your interest and please forgive me for taking so long to answer your question. I don't get on goodreads very often. In 1972 I took a cosmology class at Western Washington University taught by Dr. Richard Vawter using the second edition of Principles of Astronomy, which I enjoyed immensely. Probably what I liked the most was the last chapter, "A Universe of Galaxies" where it contrasts the Steady State theory against others, such as the Big Bang, which was up and coming at the time. Before that class I took a class on solar system astronomy taught by Dr. Brown using the book Dynamic Astronomy by Robert T. Dixon in 1971. It's amazing how much you can deduce from heavenly objects just by analyzing their light! Both of these classes and books were real eye openers for me.
