Cathy Ace Oops, Anne - I only just spotted this question! Apologies for the delay responding, and for the fact that the answer is "not at the moment", though I suspect one should "never say never"!
Cathy Ace Hello Linda - my apologies for taking so long to reply....I have been away from Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ for a little while as I am up to my ears writing a new book! The first novel featuring the WISE women (one is Welsh, one Irish, one Scottish and one Welsh - hence WISE) is THE CASE OF THE DOTTY DOWAGER. However, they first meet in a novella entitled MISS PARKER POKES HER NOSE IN, which appears in the anthology MURDER KEEPS NO CALENDAR.
Cathy Ace Thanks ever so much for choosing to spend time with the WISE women :-) I hope you enjoy it. It's a lovely idea - I can hear all their different accents in my head when I write, and I think this would be a fun series to listen to. I know it's something my publisher might be considering - I'll drop them an email mentioning your interest. Thanks for writing, Cathy
Cathy Ace Thanks for asking! I've enjoyed reading about fictional couples over the years, which is one of the reasons I wanted my criminology professor/sleuth Cait Morgan to find her own perfect partner in retired cop Bud Anderson. Do I think of Holmes and Watson as a "couple"? Yes, I do, and they'd be my favourite "pairing", but when it comes to my favourite couple in the sense of the couple in question being either romantically involved or married, then I'd plump for Tommy & Tuppence Beresford who were allowed to age across the years by their creator Agatha Christie, allowing them to develop from adventure-loving, flapper-age private investigators to a mature couple with grandchildren who had to work out fiendishly clever plots to save those who couldn't save themselves.
Cathy Ace Hello Lyn - please excuse the time it's taken me to reply...I've been away from the Internet :-) Tough question to answer...I would like to write #9 but there's always the question of whether a publisher will buy it. I'm working on it now, and will make sure to announce any deals on my Facebook page here:
Cathy Ace Hello Gary - first of all, I'm sorry! I'm glad you won, but sorry the book hasn't arrived yet. My publisher takes charge of sending out books to winners, and I have already emailed them to try to find out what's happened. As soon as they get back to me, I'll get back to you. I apologize that I can't be more helpful at the moment. Never having done this before I'm not sure if this method will allow me to answer the same question twice, so please feel free to either email me at [email protected], or ask another question here if you haven't heard from me by Friday (8th Jan) afternoon. Thanks for letting me know, Cathy
Cathy Ace I am delighted to say that i don;t know the answer to this question, never having faced the problem - yet.
Cathy Ace Too many things to list here - but I'd be happy to talk about specific aspects.
Cathy Ace Read, and write. yes, it sounds simple, but I do think that good readers make better writers. Of course, reading is all well and good, so you do actually have to write as well.
Cathy Ace I'm currently writing Cait Morgan Mystery #6, due for publication in the fall of 2015. #5 is at the final copy-edit phase, and will see the light of day in the spring of 2015..
Cathy Ace I honestly believe that writing is about 10% inspiration, and 90% perspiration. My deadlines are my inspiration ;-)
Cathy Ace My most recent book is set in the fictional Tsar! Casino and Hotel in Las Vegas, and I got the idea when I was having dinner at the Eiffel Tower Restaurant at Paris, Las Vegas. What if a restaurant, that can only be reached by an elevator, were to be locked down...with a corpse and a bunch of suspects in it...?
