Heather Heffner The conclusion of Rick Riordan's Magnus Chase series: Ship of the Dead. Elaine Pagel's Why Religion? Also looking forward to reading Holly Black's The Wicked King (Folk of the Air). Lastly, need to get my hands on Gods of Jade and Shadow by Silvia Moreno-Garcia!
Heather Heffner You wake to find the fridge empty. The only open store is Costco on a Saturday.
Heather Heffner Hi Jeje, I'm very glad to hear this and apologies for the late response! I'm happy to say there will be a sequel called The Staff of Aaron expected to be out late 2019. If I can get it out sooner I will! Thank you again for your support.
Heather Heffner It's funny how you start thinking of your favorite fictional series (Game of Thrones, Lord of the Rings, ect.) and realize that you actually wouldn't last very long there! So I'd have to go with Harry Potter and hang out with Ron's brother Charlie learning about (and hopefully riding) dragons.
Heather Heffner Creating something from an untold perspective, sharing it, and connecting with others because of it.
Heather Heffner I find something that inspires my writing urge again, be it another book, a movie, a walk, an adventure, a person, or another writing project. Or I approach my story from a different angle: from the end, another character's perspective, a romance scene, a what-if scenario, ect. If the way ahead is blocked, then why not jump ahead and work your way back?

Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ groups are good, too, because you talk with other authors and readers about what you love and why you love writing about it. Before you know it, you'll be eager to resume where you left off.
Heather Heffner Be humble under criticism and "failure," but never lose faith in yourself. Remember: being a writer isn't something you do; it's who you are.

Heather Heffner Usually I'll notice something in the midst of my everyday routine--really notice it. Like the smell of the earth after it rains. Or an odd couple on the bus who seem to have an interesting back story. Then I'll fall asleep, and my dreams will take all of my little recollections and connect the dots in a way I never thought of before. And I'll think, "Wow! I should write a story about that."
Heather Heffner The Tribe of Ishmael was years in the making. It was inspired by a freshman read of Dante's Inferno, Revelations, Paradise Lost, Greek Mythology, and my love of all things underworld. It sprang from the question: what would Hell be like if taken from an everyday demon's perspective?
