Jeaniene Frost Hi Marja! If you want to read in order, here's a list written in series-timeline order. Just ignore the books you've already read :). Thanks!

WICKED ALL NIGHT
A GRAVE GIRLS GETAWAY* (Cat and Bones novella)
Jeaniene Frost Yes, Tavia is narrating! However, because all of us have different audio publishers with different schedules, A GRAVE GIRLS GETAWAY will not release in audio until October 1st.
Jeaniene Frost The entire HEX ON THE BEACH anthology won't be available in audio. Each individual story in it will be, however, at varying dates because of scheduling with different audio companies, etc. I can't speak for the other authors' schedules, but my story in the anthology, A GRAVE GIRLS' GETAWAY, will be available in audio on October 1st.
Jeaniene Frost Ian became interested in magic the moment he heard that he wasn't allowed to do it :). Bones and Spade probably suspected that he dabbled because they know Ian's tendency to rebel against authority, but they never knew he'd become as skilled as he had. Ian deliberately didn't let people know because he wanted the element of surprise, if he needed it during a fight. Example: I've always known that Ian used magic against the ghouls at the end of UP FROM THE GRAVE when he was luring them away from an injured Bones, but I couldn't say that at the time, so it happened off-page. It's only hinted at when Cat is so surprised at how quickly Ian defeated them all. Now you know how, heh.
Jeaniene Frost First, yes, I've been stuck in writing slumps before. Every single author I know has been hit by them at some point, so don't feel bad if you're experiencing one. Second, I'm sorry to say that there's no easy answer on how to fix it. Using myself as an example, they've been caused by different reasons, and that means different solutions (which might vary with other authors, btw.) Slump from burnout = forcing myself to take time off, even if it's just a week and I'm in the middle of a bruising deadline. That time off can result in MUCH better overall progress than trying to force myself to write every day, and then having to chuck many of those "forced" words later because they're terrible. However, if I'm in a slump from overcriticizing myself--and this happens far more frequently--then I have to give myself permission to hate what I'm writing, and consider the words "crap" just to get past that feeling because 9 times out of 10, the words AREN'T crap. It's just my inner editor being a real bitch ;). Slump from preoccupation with another story idea = should you write the other story instead? Sometimes, the answer is no, and it's just a "ooh, shiny!" distraction that many writers have while we still finish the book we're working on. But sometimes, a strong pull toward another story means you SHOULD stop your work-in-progress. I was 40k + words into a time-travel romance when I got the idea for HALFWAY TO THE GRAVE, and guess what? To this day, I've never finished that time-travel romance, but I've written almost two dozen stories in my vampire world, so I'd say that switching stories worked out for me on that one :). So, in essence, there's no one answer, so try different things until you find a remedy that works, and don't lose hope! Slumps don't last forever, even if it can feel that way while it's happening. Best of luck to you with your stories!
Jeaniene Frost Yes! There is a new Cat and Bones novella called A GRAVE GIRLS' GETAWAY in the upcoming HEX ON THE BEACH anthology releasing July 1, 2021. So, you'll see Cat, Bones, Katie, Denise and more familiar faces very soon :). Plus, I am probably going to finish the retelling of Cat and Bones's beginning through his point of view in my former online serial THE OTHER HALF OF THE GRAVE, so look for more news on that soon. After that, guess which arrogant, fire-starting vampire is nagging me to continue his story? *grins* So, yes, expect much more from my vampire world in the future.

Jeaniene Frost So glad you're enjoying the Night Rebel series! Both these questions are answered in WICKED BITE, so I can't tell you the answers now or it would spoiler :).
Jeaniene Frost There's a contest running for WICKED BITE, Night Rebel book two, on my blog right now, but hurry! It ends soon:
Jeaniene Frost Good question! For sheer power level, probably Veritas, especially when you see what she can do with her FULL power on display, which happens in WICKED BITE. But, if Mencheres caught her off caught, sure, he could rip her head off with his telekinesis, but aren't we glad he doesn't want to? :)
Jeaniene Frost The fourth person - at that time - would've been Timothy, the other prisoner sent to the New South Wales penal colonies with Ian, Bones and Spade.
Jeaniene Frost Hi. There are currently no film or tv options for my books. Thanks!

Jeaniene Frost Hi. Max got lucky by not losing control and killing Justina. It certainly could have happened due to all the reasons you mentioned. It's almost as if Cat was meant to be :).
Jeaniene Frost Maybe. I don't have plans for it at this time, but I do have ideas. We'll see if those lead to a book :).
Jeaniene Frost Thank you! In addition to WICKED BITE (second Night Rebel novel, out in January) there will be a third Night Rebel novel. Title and release date to come.
Jeaniene Frost Hi! Mencheres sired Spade, and Mencheres granted Spade freedom to be head of his own line over a hundred years ago. If I recall, toward the end of First Drop, it's mentioned that Mencheres is Spade's sire. Ian sired Bones.
Jeaniene Frost Hi Amber! I use plain old Microsoft Word. It's not fancy, but it gets the job done :). The only thing I'd stress, no matter what software you (or anyone else) uses, is to have backups of your work. When I first started writing, I had a computer virus nearly wipe out all my work, then a motherboard collapse did wipe everything out. It taught me to use multiple forms of backup for every new 1 - 2K words written.
Jeaniene Frost I love your enthusiasm! I'll probably begin to post snippets in January or February :).

Jeaniene Frost I do plan to further explore some of these threads in future short stories or novellas. Thanks!
Jeaniene Frost Probably what Bones has done to Max (Cat's father.) As stated in At Grave's End, Bones made sure it was horrible because he wanted to horrify people into never being tempted to do what Max had tried to do, which was assassinate Cat.
Jeaniene Frost Hi Emma, I have all my favorite authors and the genres they write in on my website here: Hope you find some new favorites, too!
