Sometimes I wait for inspiration to hit. Sometimes I watch films or TV that inspire me. Sometimes I play Sindome () a text-based cyberpunk RPG which has been both the inspiration and in part, the source material for my book series the Chronicles of Withmore City.

I set myself a goal. It might be one chapter a day, or one chapter a week. Having a goal and knowing when I will start writing and what qualifies as having finished for the day alleivate a lot of the stress and pressure that I and I assume many other authors, put on themselves.

Keep at it! Write as much as possible. Find a writers group online or in the real world that can give you honest feedback about your week. Get as much constructive criticism as you can and embrace it! Sometimes criticism can be painful so always remember to take what you want and leave the rest.

The idea for my first (and most recent) book has been rattling around in my head for years. It all started when I began playing Sindome () after spending days, if not weeks, searching for a game with a cyberpunk theme.
