I think I'd like to live in the parallel/alternate universe in which Patricia Briggs' Mercedes Thompson books are set. And I'd want to do an in-depth anthropological study on all the magical races there. Live a year or two with each and see if I could understand them better. Not that any of them would allow it since they are all so secretive :(

Getting away from the computer is the best way for me to overcome "writer's block". Exercise, especially walking while listening to music shifts something in the brain so that it can breathe better.

Well, I'm still an aspiring writer, so I'm not sure any advice I have would be valuable :) But, I guess I would say when submitting to agents/editors ALWAYS follow submission guidelines to the letter. Don't leave anything out and don't add anything not asked for.

Music often unlocks my mind. I make a playlist for every novel and listen to it even when not at my computer to keep my imagination oiled.

Wild Horses Don't Stop at Whoa began as an array of disparate pieces. I gathered the best of my poetry and began to see threads among them. The title novella began as a challenge from my husband. He wanted me to write a story featuring horses. After awhile, I began to see that horses featured in my poetry and stories either literally or symbolically.

I have the first book in my fantasy series under consideration with a publisher. So, I am working on the sequel as well as a novel that is a mixture of space opera/military sci-fi/and sci-fi adventure.

The time I spend in the "zone." When I am in that blissful state of writing, the words come like water from a fountain. Nothing seems impossible and afterwards I'm left in a relaxed, zen-like state of mind. It's amazing! It's also pretty rare I can get in that state :)
