Cooley Windsor received his BA from the University of New Orleans, and his MFA from Indiana University in 1985. His writing has appeared in such journals as PLOUGHSHARES, THE AMERICAN POETRY REVIEW, BLACK WARRIOR REVIEW, THE BLINK, ELEVEN ELEVEN, FOURTHEEN HILLS and INDIANA REVIEW; his fiction collection, VISIT ME IN CALIFORNIA, is forthcoming from Northwestern University Press in August 2008. He teaches in the MFA Program at the California College of the Arts, and is co-director of the annual Meant to Be Seen Festival at the Eureka Theater in San Francisco. He was one of the founding board members of Bayview Hunters Point Community Advocates, an environmental-justice organization focused on the southeast section of San Francisco. His monol ...more
