Book Review: "Into Dark Waters" by Rebecca Reilly
About The AuthorRebecca Reilly is a pastor and has been working in ministry for over thirty years. A wife and mother of two and grandmother of one, Rebecca enjoys hiking, jogging, and taking cruises. When she's in her Northern California home, she works as a pastor of student ministries, a massage therapist, a health coach, and a writer. Rebecca enjoys writing mysteries (Into Dark Waters and Haunting Megan), but has also written humor (Diary of a Christian Woman: How I Used 50 Shades of Grey to Spice Up My Marriage), a children's chapter book (The Geek Club), and two picture books (Heart of a Kitty and Jammers and His Flying Bed Adventure). Right now, Rebecca is working on follow- up novels in all four genres.

About The BookA cruise ship is an easy place to commit murder. Body disposal’s a cinch, and suicide’s the likely verdict. The only problem is determining how to choose the next victim.
Sad and sexy, women find Detective Jim Tanger attractive. He doesn’t care. His wife’s suicide three years ago froze his soul. When Jim hears that Sunburst Cruises has lost another young female passenger to an assumed suicide, Jim’s passions erupt. He pushes the department and the cruise line into letting him investigate. Battling seasickness and overwhelming shyness, Jim must protect the women and find the killer only he believes exists.
Julie Cooper loves her husband Joel. She hopes their anniversary cruise to Hawaii will be a new beginning for them. Before her suitcases are unpacked, someone unleashes a campaign of terror against her. Anonymous threats, cryptic messages in her cabin, and an attempt on her life force Julie to look at the one person who might want her dead; the one person she trusted with her life.
My Review Kept Me Guessing
It's not often where I don't guess who done it before it's reveal but this one fooled me. Lots of twists and turns lead me around like a puppet on a string from one red herring to another.
I thought the main character, Julia, at least in the beginning, was too good but it turned out that she had a fatal flaw in that she trusted too much, and she trusted the wrong people. Evil lurked and it touched her, touched her in ways I don't believe she will ever forget.
Jim wanted to protect Julia from her life and from those who would harm her. From the beginning he was attacked to her.
This was an exciting mystery. I knew the author had been on a cruise when I read the details of the ship and the excursions. Great detail, characterization, and plotting. I enjoyed this book and will read more books by Ms. Reilly. I would love to see a sequel which I believe is entirely doable.

Book Review: "Progeny of a Killer" by J. M. Shorney
About the Author
In an old country village called Chaddleworth in Berkshire, J. M. (Jean) Shorney grew up listening to her father's tales around the fireside on cold winter evenings. Her father was a born storyteller. Her mother recited poetry she'd learned, and would rattle off without a book. Jean has written many novels, poetry and some hymns set to traditional tunes. Her favourite writers are Elliott O'Donnell, Dennis Wheatley and Jack Higgins, while her love affair with Ireland dominates most of my writing. Jean's inspiration is listening to old country music, both American and Irish, as it has been since herwriting career began. She currently reside in Thatcham, which is near Newbury in Berkshire.Fine Jean Shorney onÌý.
About the BookSometimes the past throws up more than you can handle... When Aidan McRaney is sent into infiltrate the lair of a man obsessed with seeking revenge on the British for the murder of his IRA father, he is forced to confront a past he never knew existed. A fast-paced, tense thriller that will have you on the edge of your seat.My ReviewExcellent ThrillerProgeny of a Killer is an enjoyable, exciting thriller that will kept you on the edge of your seat throughout. The writer's style makes for an easy to follow and fascinating read. The story is fast-paced and action-packed with multi-layered, well-constructed characters. The main character is flawed but also likable, and the villain is someone you will love to hate. The conclusion is satisfying.PurchaseÌý

Book Review: "Inside Room 913" by Bruce A. Borders
About The Author
Bruce A. Borders was born in 1967 in Cape Girardeau, MO. Bruce'sÌýchildhood years were spent in a number of states, including Missouri,ÌýOregon, Wisconsin, and Wyoming.ÌýDuring his high school years, he was a member of the football,Ìýbasketball and track teams, involved in various non-athletic activitiesÌýsuch as school yearbook production and photography, and won numerousÌýawards for his artistic creations. Bruce graduated Valedictorian inÌý1984.
While in school, Bruce held three part-time jobs; a store clerk, aÌýjanitor, and a dental technician, working about 60-70 hours per week.ÌýAfter graduation he became employed full time as a dental technician.ÌýOther jobs have included restaurant manager, carpenter and grocery storeÌýcashier. For the past nineteen years, he has worked as a commercialÌýtruck driver, logging more than two million miles.
At the age of fifteen, Bruce decided to become a writer. He began byÌýwriting songs, news articles and short stories. Eventually, books wereÌýadded to the list. Over the years, he continued to write and currentlyÌýhas a catalog of more than 500 songs, numerous short stories and 14Ìýcompleted books. About The Book Inside Room 913 Parkview Manor has a secret, and eighteen-year-old Cynthia is curious!
When Cynthia Holt takes a job at a former sanitarium, now operating asÌýan assisted living center that doubles as a hotel, she instantlyÌýdiscovers something more is occurring than simply providing the elderlyÌýwith housing and care. Something very strange is going on behind theÌýlocked door of Room 913!Ìý
After she is repeatedly warned to stay away from the room and to notÌýdiscuss it or the occupant with her co-workers, she is even moreÌýintrigued, and suspicious! Letting her curious nature guide her, sheÌýimmediately begins asking questions. When she finds that Room 913 hasÌýbeen closed off; locked and sealed for 40 years, her curiosity turns toÌýconcern. Though rumors abound, no one seems inclined to talk about it.ÌýNot giving up so easily, Cynthia persists in her pursuit of solving theÌýmystery, investigating the rumors until she learns the truth of what isÌýinside the forbidden room—or does she?My Review Fun and Enjoyable Mystery Well-written and enjoyable mystery with drama all rolled up into anÌýentertaining read. The story takes quite a few twists and turns until itÌýreaches a pleasurable and satisfactory ending. I'm pretty good atÌýfiguring out who done what in mysteries, but I did second guess myself aÌýcouple of times. I wasn't completely surprised with the end. About The Book Another Sunset - Sunset Series, #2 David Stephenson is a kind drifter who comes to settle in the small Texas town of Westville. His sense, empathy, and awareness are well received by the residents of the failing town as they welcome and befriend him. During his stay he helps a small local girl try to realize her dream and while doing so excites and energizes the whole town to help out. Lives change as fate takes a critical turn. The local would-be reporter, tasked by David’s longtime friend, takes off on a mission to unravel the mystery of his travels, where he came from, and discovers why he is on his journey. My Review Kindness of a Stranger This book started out good and ended great. The more I read, the more IÌýwanted to read. It has a dash of a budding romance and a mystery withÌýmany messages and lessons to be learned. It's about ordinary people withÌýordinary lives--down-to-earth characters with more to give than they'dÌýrealized until David drifts into town and their lives and sets them onÌýthe path they were meant to follow.
Jason Zandri has a wonderful writing style that I thoroughly enjoyed asÌýwell as the many twists and turns of the story. Another Sunset is aÌýcompelling story that I will remember for a long time.Purchase Next Five books and short stories on my reading list are:

Book Review: "Luck of the Irish" by Liz Gavin
About The AuthorWhen Liz Gavin was in Second Grade - just a couple of years ago, really - her teacher told her mother the little girl should start a diary because she needed an outlet for her active and vivid imagination. She was a talkative child who would disrupt the class by engaging her colleagues in endless conversations. She loved telling them the stories her grandfather used to tell her.Apparently, the teacher wasn't a big fan of those stories, and Liz's mother bought her a diary. She happily wrote on it for a couple of months. Unable to see the appeal of writing for her own enjoyment only, she gave up on it. She missed the audience her friends provided her in class. She went back to disturbing her dear teacher's class.Since then, she has become a hungry reader. She will read anything and everything she can get her hands on - from the classics to erotica. That's how she has become a writer of erotica and romance, as well.As a young adult, she participated in a student exchange program and lived in New Orleans for six months. She fell in love with the city and its wonderful inhabitants. NOLA will always hold a special spot in Liz Gavin's heart. Nowadays, living in Brazil, Liz's creativity has improved many times because it's such a vibrant, gorgeous and sexy country.Welcome to her world of hot Alpha males and naughty, independent women.
