A. R. Pip is a PhD scientist whose previous publications were papers (and one very long thesis) on obscure topics in the field of DNA repair and replication.

Despite developing a chronic illness that will mean being bed-bound for years, Pip still has a passion for reading other people's research papers, and this novel is the result. Pip is currently engaging in reading research on the topic of smuggling in southern England in the 1700's and 1800's in the hopes of writing a new historical novel that features LGBTQ+ characters engaging in the "free trade" economy.
