Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving Warriors! 🖤
I hope your days were as filled with love and blessings as mine was.
I had a quiet day with my family-and what do you know it at the end of it, it starts to snow! The time between Halloween and Christmas is the most magical time of the year.
Bliss has been nagging for attention this past week, so I finally listened and sat down and wrote. I think I may even have my starting paragraph which is HUGE. And in classic Emily fashion, today's festivities offered some ideas for a new Bliss scene as well. One involving Thanksgiving, my MMC for Bliss, Tyler, going shopping, and a poinsettia. Good luck figuring that one out!
Stay tuned, I am thinking of announcing my projects *yes plural, the ideas are just flying off the shelf this month* code names this week!

Meet the Author
Author introduction post! 🖤
No alteration or filter, sometimes you just have to be real. This is the real me.
Hi, my name is Emily R. McCormick and here are some very real fun facts about me:
🖤 I am 20 years old and a college student. I recently graduated to become an HVACR technician and am studying for my field test. I am getting ready to go to community college for an AA degree in Graphic Design to help further my author dream. After that, off to electrician school. Go big or go home, right?
🖤I published my debut, Holy Bliss, as a teen author and am giving her a full makeover that I am both nervous and excited to show you guys. It's like I get to be a newbie all over again! I also have not one, but two secret projects in the works. *Both will be series*
🖤 Tying in the author thing, I absolutely love to read. There is nothing better in the world then a good book! Favorite books are Stalking Jack the Ripper, The Maze Runner, and The Perfect Blindside. I am also an ARC reader.
🖤 I breed, show, and love my Holland Lop and Netherland Dwarf rabbits. You can expect to see them hop on my socials on more than one occasion most likely XD.
🖤 My favorite time of year is October to the end of December. It's such a magical time! My favorite time of day is night, and my favorite weather...goes back and forth between a windy day and a thunderstorm.
🖤 I am a Christian and like to include that in my work and life whenever I can.
🖤 And because we need a random fact that you just have to wonder how it got there, my favorite drink is water. Call me weird or basic, it's delicious!
It's good that these things have a word limit because despite being an extreme introvert, I can talk and talk and talk. I could come up with a million random facts. Ones that will probably end up on here at one point or another mark my words!

"What if I fall?"
"Oh, but my darling, what if you fly?"
Life update! 🖤
I am starting over. Literally and figuratively.
It's hard starting a new life; no matter where you are in it. Especially when you are thrown in the middle with no start and end in sight-with no direction. The pressure of trying to figure THAT out alone can crush you.
It's felt like that for me for a while. I had to uproot my life just as I was getting ready to start a new chapter anyway. Talk about daunting!
It's understandable now looking back to realize the defense mechanisms I had in place to just survive day by day. But that is no way to live.
What does this have to do with writing you may ask? I am a writer after all. I haven't written anything new in four years because of it. I wasn't happy with anything I put down on paper, and even trying to just simply edit Holy Bliss has proved to be impossible. Impossible, challenging, a chore, and frustrating which is not what I want writing to be for me let alone editing!
It's because I am not her. I am not the same girl I was four years ago, not even close. I am not even a girl anymore but a young woman. No wonder it's not working.
So, there will be no complete makeover for Bliss, because she is getting rewritten.
"Forget everything you know."
I gotta say, it's definitely been a challenge relearning everything I have forgotten. My sentences are choppy, the words don't flow together, I can't yet see scenes clearly etc. I haven't been in my characters heads for over four years. But, I am learning to love things again and let other things go. It's almost like my life is my favorite book I get to reread again for the first time and learn my favorite lines, scenes, and everything in between all over again. How many people can say that? How many people would kill to read their favorite book again? I know I would.
And if you are still here, thank you for sticking around with me all these years. I hope I can get you the stories you are waiting for. 🖤

Meet the Author
Hey guys!
My name is Emily R. McCormick and I am the author of Holy Bliss. I am a YA Author who lives in the wild wonderful mountains of West Virginia.
The idea for the world of Brightlights came to me when I was doing an English essay, ironically enough. And the idea just grew from there. One year later, I am a published author. I can't wait to share all my adventures with you!
