Merry Christmas–A Little Early!

ONCE UPON A CHRISTMAS KISS is now available for sale from all your favorite digital book retailers!

Once Upon A Christmas Kiss

This is the story of two characters you may recall from WHY DUKES SAY I DO: governess Miss Winifred Nightingale and dashing next door nieghbor Sir Lucien Blakemore. They reconnect at a holiday Christmas party, and along with the wassail and holly, they are also gifted with a mIystery!

Christmas novellas are close to my heart, because I have many happy memories of eagerly snapping up the old Signet Regency Christmas anthologies in my teens. Novellas are a fun, short burst of romance, but the Christmas novellas are also a sure way to get me in the holiday spirit.

I hope you and yours have a safe and happy wind up to the end of 2014!

All the best,

Manda

A Little Smackerel of a Story

Happy Saturday! Hope wherever you are you’re having a great day!

I’m happy to report that I’ve got a little treat for you! (Though you know, no big deal if you aren’t as excited as I am. I don’t judge!)

The folks at Heroes & Heartbreakers asked me to the very first author in a new series they’re doing called “H&H Quickies. They put up a call for prompts (these are scenarios or story details that are supposed to “prompt a writer to find a story in them) one week, and then the next week, the author, having chosen a few of those prompts, posts a story that includes them.

The prompts I chose were: a kiss in a curricle near Rotten Row; a working (non-aristocratic) hero; a horse named Crystal; a plus sized heroine; and, a long overdue declaration of love. The story I wrote is called I hope you’ll stop by and let me know what you think of it. I’m rather fond of Miss Easterling and her Scottish hero!

Thank You! (Yes, You!)

It’s a little over a week since Why Earls Fall in Love was released and I found out yesterday that it hit the coveted Neilsen Bookscan Romance list at #69. Thank you so much for putting it there!

For those of us in the book world, Bookscan is the place that ranks books by their total print sales (with a few exceptions like grocery stores and the like) once a week. And this week, I’m on this list, which is super!

You guys, in a word, ROCK!

Good News and A Chance for You to Choose!

Hi all! Sorry I’ve been so incommunicado these past few months. I’ve been hard at work on Why Lords Lose Their Hearts and let me tell you that it’s going to be a doozy!

But, I had to pop in because I got the wonderful news this week that Why Dukes Say I Do has been nominated for an RT Reviewer’s Choice Award for Best Innovative Historical! And I’m in the same category with Zoe Archer, Celeste Bradley, Karen Ranney, Heather Snow, and Tracey Devlin. So honored that RT found Isabella and Trevor so intriguing! And innovative, of course!

My other news is that allowing my readers to choose the cover pose for Why Earls Fall in Love went so well, that we’ve decided to do it again with Why Lords Lose Their Hearts! So, head on over to Facebook, ! I won’t tell which one I favor at the moment, but I will say that I ADORE the colors on this one! And that model playing the role of Archer isn’t too shabby either;)

That’s all for now! I’ll see yall on the interwebs!

Today’s the Day!

Why Dukes Say I Do (5)At last! After all these months of teasing, Why Dukes Say I Do is finally available for purchase! (Or if you’re a library user, for checkout!) I can’t wait to see how you all respond to Trevor and Isabella. I have to admit, Trevor might be my favorite hero yet. Of course, I think that about them all

Hope wherever you are, whatever you’re doing today you’ve got something cool to drink (or warm if you’re in the Southern Hemisphere) and something great to read!

Cheers,

Manda

Miss Amelia Snowe is Released Into the Wild Today!

Perks of Being a BeautyWhee! Release day for The Perks of Being a Beauty is finally here! I can’t wait to see what you, my readers, think about Amelia’s transformation from mean girl to heroine! Some of my favorite heroines (and heroes) started out as villains, and I hope that I was able to make Amelia’s journey credible.

To celebrate, I’m being interrogated by Sharon Wray about just what I was thinking when I decided to make the Ugly Ducklings mortal enemy a heroine. And I’m giving away a free copy of Perks to one lucky commenter!

B1436_PerksBeauty_LPlus, not only is today the digital release day for Perks, it’s also audio release day! And in honor of Audio Books Month, my audio publisher Tantor, has marked their entire store down by 50%, which includes all three of the Ugly Ducklings, !

And be on the lookout for a cameo from, Lady Isabella Wharton, the heroine of Why Dukes Say I do, which comes out a little over a month from now! I can’t wait for you to meet the Wicked Widows!

No matter which format you choose to read it in, I hope you enjoy Amelia’s story! In honor of Amelia’s debut, I’m throwing a party at Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and you’re invited! In my new Q&A with Manda Collins Group tonight from 6PM to 8PM Central, we’ll be celebrating with some of our favorite bad girls and the bad boys they love! There will be door prizes and fun and you can ask me anything you want! (Within reason, obviously;) If you’re not already a member, just join up! I’ll also be using the group for announcements and general updates related to my books. I hope you’ll join us!

As always, thank you so much for your support! Hope wherever you are, you’re having a June to remember!

Gayle Wilson Award of Excellence!

I just found out yesterday that How to Dance with a Duke has been , sponsored by the Southern Magic Chapter of RWA!

This is an especially important moment for me because Southern Magic is the sister chapter of the Gulf Coast Romance Writers, my home chapter. And we Alabama girls have to stick together!

Thank you so much to everyone who judged! And congratulations to all the other nominees. I’m up against a seriously strong group of contenders.
