yes!
I finally finished editing Khthonios after getting my editor's notes. Writer's block and COVID stress are a real bitch to deal with, but I managed to pull myself through this weekend.
Now I can with, full confidence, announce a publication/release date. Given the time of the year, I decided on October 21 as the release date, just in time for Halloween!
Khthonios will come out October 21, 2020.
I hope everyone has managed to stay safe and healthy.

some good news, finally
My last couple of points addressed issues that were, to say the least, depressing, but I did not want to ignore the reality of what is happening in the world.
However, I am happy to give my readers some good news. My editor just sent Khthonios back to me, so all that is left is for me to give it one final look-over before I publish it! Fingers crossed for a release in July!

Felt this was really relevant with what is going on
Atrocity is recognized as such by victim and perpetrator alike, by all who learn about it at whatever remove. Atrocity has no excuses, no mitigating argument. Atrocity never balances or rectifies the past. Atrocity merely arms the future for more atrocity. It is self-perpetuating upon itself - a barbarous form of incest. Whoever commits atrocity also commits those future atrocities thus bred.
Frank Herbert, 'Dune Messiah'
The Dune series by Frank Herbert might be science fiction, but Herbert was a brilliant author and his Dune books have many, many nuggets of truth and philosophy within them.

COVID-19
Some will see this as fortunate, others not so fortunate, but I work in an industry that is essential amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. It's honestly a pretty scary time for me, going out and risking this because of the amount of people that come through. The fact that I got a letter giving me dispensation to go outside is somewhat sobering.
When not working, I've been doing a fair amount of knitting - I started up again a couple of weeks ago after nearly a decade of not knitting at all. It felt pretty great, and has given me something to do with my hands when i don't want to be working on my laptop. I also got a fair amount of writing done the last couple of days, so between working and knitting and cuddling with my cat, I've been able to keep myself occupied during all this craziness.
Take care of yourselves, wash your hands, and when you shop, please do so in a sensible manner. Please follow and respect government-mandated guidelines for dealing with the pandemic. If we work together, we can get through this craziness.

Moonshadows
My fantasy novel, Moonshadows, will be coming out sometime next year. The manuscript is complete but it still needs to go through a final edit.
Some lovely art I had commissioned for the book.

Even more love
Following up on my previous post, I also have a lovely picture of Hades and Persephone to share with you!
Definitely worth what I paid for it, and it captures Hades and Persephone from Seeds so nicely :)

share the love
Last year, I considered a fun gift that was meant to be shared with my fans. I would not be where I am without the support of my fans and readers, so I thought it'd be fun to show some appreciation. This picture is the first of several gifts I have to share with my fans.
I absolutely love how Hephaistos and Kabeiro look here, and Heph reminds me of Tormund from Game of Thrones, what a nice guy and I wish he had gotten the giant babies he wanted (Lol) but anyway I absolutely love how the picture came out!
Worthy of Love is available for reading from Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Smashwords, and Kobo.

come the fuck on people
What the heck is wrong with people? Sometimes people might have disagreements, and sometimes these arguments can get heated. I would be lying if I said that I had never called someone a name during an argument (I called a white supremacist/Neo Nazi a loser, and I sure as hell don't feel sorry for it) but telling people to kill themselves or threatening people with harm really is going too far.
I'm part of Reddit, and a couple of weeks ago I got a PM from someone telling me to kill myself. I was stupefied as I could not see any apparent reason for him to do so. Then I did some investigating and saw that he had been banned over half a year ago from a subreddit I am part of. Turns out that he had been telling others to kill themselves too. This loser had been lurking in a subreddit that he had been banned from for over half a fucking year.
The stupid thing is, it's a subreddit that concerns safety and helping people (don't want to get too specific as I don't want to draw attention to it)
I avoid political and controversial subreddits because I DON'T want to deal with unhinged assholes. I keep to subs that are on the helping/therapeutic side (along with the cat subreddit, of course) because I know that certain topics get people absolutely fucking unhinged. But of course some random asshole has to find me anyway, and tell me to kill myself. And this is just a couple of months after a different person, in a different subreddit (related to medicine) told me to kill myself and that they hoped I get hit by a bus.
Seriously, what the fuck is wrong with people?
Also, when people give out unsolicited advice to other people on the Internet, everyone would be better of these assholes took their own advice. Just sayin... ;)
Also, would these douchebags be willing to say these dumbass things in person to someone's face?
Yeah, I didn't think so. Fucking "macho" cowards.

2019 is the year!
I’ve had a lot to deal with since childhood and in the last few years (not gonna get into it because it’s painful and personal) and reading and writing was a great source of solace for me.
I debuted my writing almost 20 years ago, when I was a dorky teenager. I‘ve come a long way since then, on various levels, but that took a LOT of hard work.
One of the things I worked on was my writing, and although it’s been in the works since 2017, it’s not until earlier this year that I was able to finally finish the secret project I have alluded to before. Seeds has undergone serious editing, with nearly ten percent of the entire trilogy cut out (about 26k words) and then run through a proofreading software far superior to LibreOffice or MSWord. (Seriously, props to Grammarly. Use it as a proofreading tool for anything from homework to a letter to a creative writing project)
This has resulted in a Seeds trilogy that is of much better quality than before, and free of the typos that I, my editors, and MSWord missed (come on, Microsoft, you can do better than that!)
Worthy of Love has not been edited like Seeds, but it was still run through Grammarly to fix typos. All 4 books have been fixed thusly, and already updated to all sales channels. Anyone who bought the e-books should be able to re-download the new version of the book. If you bought paperback, I will be happy to send you a new paperback, or offer you a free e-book.
(I would also like to offer a sincere and humble apology to the people who tolerated my typos and other issues. Back then, I honestly thought I was releasing the best product I could offer, but hindsight is 20/20)
All 4 books have just been released on Smashwords and Kobo, as one of my acts this year is expanding my base. The books remain available on B and N and Amazon, and paperback is also on Amazon.
Khthonios is slated for a release date of July 21, and Moonshadows will be ready to release at the end of this year, knock on wood. There will also be a novella that will be free to download, due to come out sometime this summer or fall. Yes, my dearies! You heard right, FREE. 2019 is going to be one hell of a year!

fun sites
All of us like to distract ourselves from the stresses of daily life and so on... Doubtless everyone has experienced this at some time or another.
I've been through some hard/dark times in my life, and found solace in several sites, and thought I'd share them for those who wanted a lighter (or more serious distraction)
Cracked, com - Plenty of fun articles, as well as contests where you can win money for your creativity and/or Photoshop skills.
Reddit - where do I even start? This site has PLENTY of fun distractions, such as r/cats, r/jokes, r/mildlyinteresting, among others, but plenty of good subreddits for advice such as r/personalfinance or r/legaladvice, and then there are some that can be immeasurably helpful for family or mental issues, such as r/justnomil, r/justnofamily, r/justnoso, and there are also subs that offer plenty of chance for personal reflection and varied views, such as r/amitheasshole, r/unpopularopinion.
And of course, there are subs that are for knowledge and SCIENCE!!! such as r/science, r/news, r/psychology, and creative writing subreddits such as r/eroticstories, r/cryosleep, r/writingprompts, and r/nosleep. There are many, many others, and you're bound to find one that suits your personal taste. And then you have the kitties - r/cats, r/jellybeantoes, r/catloaf, r/purrito, among others.
