Hello authors! We’re sharing some tips to help you get the most out of Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ as well as how to get support when you need it.

Connecting with Readers on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ
Building connections between readers and their favorite authors is at the heart of what we do at Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. To help you get started, here are some easy ways to engage:

  • Keep your author profile up to date. Share an engaging bio about yourself and add in some personal details (eg. “cannot live without chocolate!â€� “grew up surrounded by books and dreaming of my own dragonâ€�) to help more readers relate to you. Take a look at the profiles of some of your favorite authors to get some inspiration of different approaches.
  • Share what you’re reading by rating and reviewing books. Readers love to know what an author is reading so this is a good way to stay in touch with readers in between books. This is also a core part of the community experience at Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ so helps you connect in a non-salesy way with readers and build authentic connections.
  • Try out our Ask the Author feature. Ask the Author provides authors with another way to engage with readers on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ. You can start by responding to any of the preset questions. Readers can also submit questions to you and you have full control in deciding which ones to answer and publish. Once you post an answer, a notification is sent to the reader who submitted the question and it is automatically added to the Ask the Author section on your author profile. You can turn off this feature at any time (for example, if you’re heads down writing!).

This is a great way to get your book in front of eager readers. Think of it like a mini-ad campaign which delivers several benefits:

  • Captures an audience of readers for your book. Your book is automatically added to the Want to Read shelf of every Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ member who enters your giveaway, capturing an audience for future notifications about your book.
  • Helps build buzz about your book. Each time a Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ member enters a giveaway, it automatically creates an update that is shared in the newsfeed of their friends and followers, further amplifying discovery of your book.
  • Generate early reviews. Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ members who win and then read your book can submit a review, helping other readers decide if your book is a good fit for them.
In a giveaway, you can offer readers the chance to win up to 100 print books to U.S. or Canadian residents. Kindle Direct Publishing authors and publishers with ebooks available in the Amazon U.S. marketplace also have the option of offering the chance to win up to 100 Kindle ebooks to U.S. residents. Pro tip: you can run more than one giveaway for a book. We frequently see publishers and authors follow up a giveaway with another one a couple of months later to build on the success of the first one.

We know how much authors value ratings and reviews on Å·±¦ÓéÀÖ and we're committed to ensuring that the ratings and reviews on our site remain trustworthy, relevant, and authentic for both readers and authors. For example, we will temporarily limit the submission of ratings and reviews on a book during times of unusual activity that violate our guidelines. This helps us quickly block rare issues like potential 'review bombing' as they are emerging. We continue to work on further improvements and will share more updates in the future.
