I really enjoyed this book. In fact, since I read it, I've been trying in vain to find a book similar to it. Can anyone recommend books with similar plots or themes? Person in the wilderness, self-imposed isolation, hands-on work, mystery element?

I have been recommended quite a few books with those elements featuring. I love all pioneer/frontier type books, homesteading etc. and also southern novels set in the Appalachia in the late 1800's/first half 1900's. One I can recommend highly that I recently read was The Jump Off Creek. It doesn't shoehorn romance in either. I think I just like the stoicism, survival instinct and courage. This is not a question, instead just a comment. I read Folly a good while ago and found it inspirational. I found it resonates with a sneaky kind of healing energy and empowerment. I have gifted it to friends who are on the edge of confusion about their life and future. So far the six who read it were profoundly encouraged and continued to sort themselves out and continue on a better path. ?
