Can I read Dust without having read Shift? I heard Shift was really boring and tedious, so I figured since its a prequel anyway, maybe I could just skip to the story I'm actually interested in? Will I be completely lost?

Shift certainly wasn't as action-packed as the other two (but then I don't enjoy action, much) but it gave a lot of background and insight into characters, which I felt was missing a bit in the other two.(less)

Did I miss the explanation of the "dome" over the silos that Juliette and friends saw after they passed to the clear air. How did it stay there and not spread over all the area?

By blowing up Silo 1, all of the remaining Silos are g…m´Ç°ù±ðAt the end of the time period, all of the Silos except for 1 (the "chosen") would be shut down. By blowing up Silo 1, all of the remaining Silos are given a chance to find their way out of the nano dust. They may fail, but at least they aren't utterly doomed by the press of a button.(less)

Wool was ok, the second one was a bit boring. I lost interest. I think there was stuff enough for two books, not three. Is the last one better than the second?

Book 3 is more of the same, but at least it's shorter, and eventually wraps up the story.(less)

It is up to them to make it out of the Silo safely, and with Silo 1 watching over them they wouldn't have had that chance.(less)
