Shift certainly wasn't as action-packed as the other two (but then I don't enjoy action, much) but it gave a lot of background and insight into characters, which I felt was missing a bit in the other two.(less)

By blowing up Silo 1, all of the remaining Silos are g…m´Ç°ù±ðAt the end of the time period, all of the Silos except for 1 (the "chosen") would be shut down. By blowing up Silo 1, all of the remaining Silos are given a chance to find their way out of the nano dust. They may fail, but at least they aren't utterly doomed by the press of a button.(less)

Book 3 is more of the same, but at least it's shorter, and eventually wraps up the story.(less)

It is up to them to make it out of the Silo safely, and with Silo 1 watching over them they wouldn't have had that chance.(less)
