Maritina Mela I didn't like the ending. While I get that in real life there are people who are depressed and will still go out of their way to make others happy, thâ€¦m´Ç°ù±ðI didn't like the ending. While I get that in real life there are people who are depressed and will still go out of their way to make others happy, this type of ending kinda erases the message of the story. Throughout the whole book Alan is the black sheep because he sees beauty in life and doesn't want the shop's client to die. He goes through so much emotional and verbal abuse and yet he is successful at changing his family's life. Him jumping to his own death after the whole family has denounced their old ways, was pure shock factor instead of clever writing. But then again that's just me.(less)
