Yes, I utterly enjoy her stories, I have few left to read because since last year, I can´t stop reading her books!

With Isabel´s books, time passes quickly, immersed in other worlds and eras, feeling, listening and living other cultures, which is something that I don´t find in many authors. Needless to say, I love literature, but I am a demanding reader, and so I find myself sometimes not wanting to waste my time in a book that really is not what I expected or is poorly written, and believe me, I always try to give it a try, as I love reading new genres and novel writers.

But when it comes to Isabel Allende, this has never happened, not even with one book. She has a unique trait (along with her mastery as a writer and creator) which for me is her respectful positioning of women in history. I say respectful because it is not that she claims a place for women that was not there and on top of other relevant figures of history, it is by reminding us of the place that women had and have in actively creating history, and this should not be taken lightly, as most of the times history tends to separate women from men by making the latter prevail as regards creators of history.

I celebrate all writers and people in general who make room for a different story and reality, by researching in the few places where that history is written, by asking to those who have an interest in such matters, and then sharing with the world what they have to say or do, and this for me defines Isabel Allende as a writer.
