I heard this book has some sad parts in it. Is it okay for a 4th-grade classroom read aloud?
Ella D I think so. Some sad parts, yes, but nothing really hard and it had a sweet ending.

It's been years since I have listened to this audio book. If I were to recommend it for a group of elementary students, is there ANYTHING in it that sensitive parents might object to? (language, discussion of alcohol, etc.) I am not looking for a debate on parents censoring for their kids. I just need to know if there are any triggers in this book that might generate a flood of emails to me.
