In Easy, and at Taccoa, he was the "most experienced leader" in the company. Always remember that the US military was predicated on the expansible force concept at this time. The US Army went from something like 170,000 to 11 Million men from 1941-1945. Afterwards, it drew back down. Then, after Korea, the US adopted a policy of a standing military. One it maintains today. (less)
