Salinger was thinking, I personally don't believe Franny passing out was due to pregnancy. I believe it had solely to due with her panicking and encountering a crisis of so many different thoughts and emotions buzzing around in her head concerning her religious awakening, her feelings toward Lane, and her changing opinions and beliefs as a young adult, and experiencing a mental breakdown due to all of that. But I find your perspective super interesting and it is certainly something to consider! (less)
