I'm debating wether to read this book, since i didn't enjoy the catcher in the rye at all (Holden Caulfield is the most annoying narrator i have come across in a long time), but this book does sound good. I don't know if i should pick it up.. or not?

Margie Taylor I loved Catcher in the Rye, and love Franny and Zooey even more, reading it again so many years later. Currently I'm in the zone of reading books of Bukowski but this book, from what I read in some reviews looks really interesting and breathtaking. I'm really more interested in 'Franny and Zooey' than in 'Cather in the rye' even tho the second one gets slightly better reviews. Has someone read both books and still recommends 'Franny and Zooey' and can prove this with a few strong arguments?

Salinger was thinking, I personally don't believe Franny passing out was due to pregnancy. I believe it had solely to due with her panicking and encountering a crisis of so many different thoughts and emotions buzzing around in her head concerning her religious awakening, her feelings toward Lane, and her changing opinions and beliefs as a young adult, and experiencing a mental breakdown due to all of that. But I find your perspective super interesting and it is certainly something to consider! (less)
