On one, a reader breaks down the ages of each of the characters throughout the series, and many don’t line up. I have read each of the titles in the series, and have just come to accept what others have pointed out as inconsistencies. Before audiobooks, and e-readers, I literally counting the days for the newest title in the Scarpetta series. Many times I would read the book, cover to cover, sometimes in one sitting. For me, starting with a few titles before Chaos in 2016, the books started to lose their appeal, and certain predictabilities became tiresome, (Scarpetta always a victim or target in some sort of conspiracy, Scarpetta at odds with most every character, etc.) Sadly, I agree with many of the commenters, that, perhaps the Scarpetta series has run its course.(less)
