does anyone know if this is the last book in the series? (trying to decide whether to buy it or whether to just get it from the library lol)

I know I'm like almost a year late to this question. But can someone tell me what the fuck happens with David and Stevie in this book? Don't worry about spoilers because I will 99.5% will not be reading it and stick to the trilogy (where I think the series should have just ended). But do they break up? Does David cheat? a lot of the reviews are just about how David is a massive piece of shit.

This answer contains spoilersâ€� (view spoiler)[in the beginning of the book, stevie and david have a pretty good relationship. around the middle of the book, they talk about having sex and then do it but get interrupted by someone with information about this girl named samantha gravis that was drowned in a lake soon before the nine went to merryweather. they thought they didnt know who she was but it turns out, they met her at a bar the day before she drowned. anyways, getting back to stevie and david, they were at the merryweather with the nine, (but by then it was only six) along with nate, vi, janelle, and izzy because angela, izzys aunt that was part of the nine, disapeared and they were trying to find out where she went. the next day was the last full day before stevie, nate, vi, and janelle had to go back to america. that morning, they got the news that angela was found dead in the lake. izzy was very sad so david ended up staying at the merryweather with her while stevie, nate, vi, and janelle went back to london to finish their last day in london as planned. later that day when they got back from their tours, stevie went to the room davids been staying in (in a student housing complex) but he wasnt there so she went to izzys room and he was there. izzy was still very sad about angela and david was sitting on the floor talking to her. he said he would meet her in her room in about an hour but an hour goes by and he hasnt come. a lot more time goes by and he still hasnt come. the next day, in the morning stevie wakes up and goes to his room to see if hes there. he wasnt there so she texted him. he said he went to get coffee and hell be back soon. she waits for him in the lobby but its still about fifteen minutes until he gets back. when he gets back, he has two coffees. one for him and one for stevie. he offers to go on a walk with her but she says she has to pack since theres only a few hours before she has to go to the airport to get back to the USA. he says that itll only take ten minutes to convince her to come. eventually, she agrees and they go on a walk. a few minutes into the wal, this is what it said. ""You and me," he said. "I'm..." A seismic tremor passed over her nervous system. Her muscles went rigid. "I don't think we should do this anymore," he said looking down at his hands. " It's not working out." " What do you mean?" she said, panic rising in her throat. He couldn't be saying this. This could not be happening. "I don't think...it's good." "Is this... Izzy?" she asked. He cocked his head and shook it. "Izzy? No. Nothing with me and Izzy. It's...me. It's..."" after that, she got a call from janelle. david kept walking, and janelle came to pick up stevie. stevie told her, vi, and nate what happened and they all helped pack. on the way to the airport and when they got there, stevie kept hearing this voice in her head saying, "You saw it," and, "house. You saw it at her house," and, "You walked right by it,". as they were boarding the plane, (stevie was the last of her friends in line to board the plane) nate, vi, and janelle were waiting for stevie she hopped out of the line to go to the bathroom. she purposely stayed in the bathroom until boarding was closed. then, she left the airport and got on the Heathrow Express which took her back to Paddington where she then navigated her way to angelas house. izzy waas there and asked what she was doing still in London. she said something along the lines of, "i missed my flight and theres something here i have to find." her and izzy searched everywhere then the answer finally came to her. they gathered the six out of the nine that were still alive and told the story about what happened. they got a taxi to go back to the student housing where she would be staying with izzy for the night. on the way there, stevie started crying and izzy noticed and said something about knowing what happened between her and david. stevie told her that he never came to her room last night and izzy said he left after an hour and she thought thaat he was with her. izzy explained that he always goes on and on about how stevie is such a great gf and how he loves her. she also said that thats what he was doing last night but instead he was talking about how hes intimidated by stevie and how stevie is so great at solving mysterie and he has nothing. she said hes probobly at the student housing crying about the fact that he made a mistake and now he doesnt have stevie anymore. she texted him and said, "you made a mistake with Stevie, didn't you? Your an idiot. What were you thinking?" he replied with, "I know. At pub. Vodka sodass ar twi pounds I screwed upp gonna drink everything all the vofka sodas". They told the driver to take them to the Seven Bishops instead. (Seven Bishops is the pub) When they got there, they looked for david, but then, without looking at her phone or watch, izzy said, "Oh," "He just texted. He's at the house. We should..." "What?" "This way!" Izzy said with a forced brightness in her voice. She grabbed Stevie's arm and tried to guide her back through the crowd, but Stevie shook her off. Izzy was not a good liar. David was not back at the student house. Something weird was happening. "Pizza!" Izzy said. "I'm starving. We need food. I haven't eaten since..." Stevie looked over Izzy's shoulder, despite Izzy's attempts to block the view. There, in the same booth that they had sat in together just a week ago, was David. She could see the back of his coat. His head. But his face was missing. That was because it was pressed into another." And that was the end of the book. I hope i answered your question! should I read the first 4 parts before this one? I know it's a series but I want to read this one first.

jess :) it would be okay to read this first but i feel like youâ€™d get so much more out of it and love it so much more if you had the backstory of all the charâ€¦m´Ç°ù±ðit would be okay to read this first but i feel like youâ€™d get so much more out of it and love it so much more if you had the backstory of all the characters and their relationships. and you wouldnâ€™t know some of the minor ones like the school ones. some of it is explained so you would be fine, i just think it would more enjoyable not to. if you had to skip one though, you could skip the box in the woods as thatâ€™s a standalone novel in the series. (less)
