Alysa Farmer Boy was originally second in the series when the books were first published in the 1930s. When the series was illustrated and re-released in the 1950s, Farmer Boy was released as #3 in the series. It is only recently that it is being listed as #2 again.(less)

Why do the characters use "you be"? As in, "I'm older than you be." They use this construction of "you be" multiple times. Is this a regional dialect or what? Thanks!
