Was it De Quicy's personal life story ?

From page 183 - 190, De Quincy goes into a discussion on foreshadowing. I am a little confused with the timeline though regarding this family. He mentions an aunt, a deceased mother, and twins. At the beginning he says 16 year old child, but then a 22 year old woman in the same room? If the twins are 22, does she just *look* young? He then discusses the twins knowing each other for 18 years. Some clarity would help!
