Manu Ok, the kittens scene is a tough one. But the scene with the blind pony sitting at the back of the car, feeling the wind in her mane, and feeling free for the first time in her life, is one of my favourite moments. So simple and so beautiful: "she had been imprisoned and owned, as if all her value was wrapped up in how loarge a load she could carry on her back."
Once again, animal and human sufferings are tightly linked in the book so I personally think it would be a shame to skip a passage in the book just because it contains "animal abuse".

Marie W. WELL the human abuse was for sure awful but it was not a bloody awful murder was it lol? Wth.

Kimberly Not everyone is like you, Manu. That's something you should know before you make a rude comment to a simple and commonly asked question. Perhaps they would like to know in order to skip that certain part so that they could finish the book. You don't know how other people personally deal with reading about traumas, human or animal.

Courtney Autumn I think Marie and Kimberly politely said all I would have said (in probably not as polite of a way 😂).

Allison Thanks for your comments Marie , Kimberly and Courtney. I felt kinda chastised (unfairly) when I read Manu's answer.
