I pictured Plato as being a lot older. Have you seen a movie called "man in the chair"? It has a really old drunk Christopher Plummer and that is who instantly came to my mind when reading your book.
I haven't seen that film, but will check it out. I have just watched the trailer and that's basically what I had in mind when writing about Plato; somebody who, after a long, interesting life finds himself drinking loads, dropping out and being a source of inspiration when remaining a blank page. He probably has a ton of amazing stories.
Richard E. Grant would need a makeup job; I actually deleted that part when writing the answer. He's a lot younger than Plato as Plato has the voice of a wartime radio presenter. He's very old, but I can Grant pulling off the voice and the mannerisms.
