Yen Good thing you abandoned it because rape and sex is a reoccurring theme in the remainder of the series! I couldn't bring myself to read any more of the Outlander series because of how unnecessarily long it is and the bad plots which gradually turns to no plots at all as the series goes on.

Sandra Visser I must say one of the worst parts for me was that he wanted to have sex in the camp while the rest of the men were sleeping around them. At first she says no but he's so aroused she gives in. How is this romantic?

Patty Mattingly I liked the book and the history but like you the endless consensual sex seemed a bit much for me although I did finish reading it, I sometimes skipped over the sex.
