HS kids are awash in swearing and sex—maybe instead of trying to shelter them from this content, it could be an entry point into discussing healthy/unhealthy relationships and communication methods
I fully agree that books are a great starting point to discuss difficult topics. And if there were other redeeming qualities to the book then maybe . . . However, Kristine was looking for something uplifting. I can’t say I think this fits the bill.
I promise you that kids see and hear more than this book offers in the halls at public school from junior high on.
