Phil Cotnoir Thank you, Tim! Might I suggest that someone should be publishing this somewhere?

Laura Tim - Thank you for your thoughts on Ebola in West Africa. After having lived in Liberia for two years and leaving in January right before the Ebola crisis broke out, it kills me a little every time I watched an airline stop operations, a local business close, Liberians leave the country and the world seeming to abandon these countries in need. Its like they are in conflict all over again -- yet this time against a very different enemy. I am happy to see the US military heading there to provide assistance but wish this focus could have happened earlier. I also am in touch with friends there who are suffering the consequences of Ebola even if they, their families and their friends have not been directly impacted. While this disease is impacting so many more people than it should be, there are so many more that are trying to continue with their life as usual. Yet, as the world stays away, food and other resources become more scarce. I hope that efforts by you and others who know and love Liberia, Sierra Leone and Guinea can raise awareness that isolating these countries only works against solving this problem. And that now that awareness is being raised in these countries, the survival rate has increase tremendously. But, there is much work to be done. Thank you for your wonderful books about these lesser known but absolutely fascinating countries that I also care very deeply about!

Paul Thanks Tim! You provide an interesting historical context on the Ebola outbreak. I hadn't been aware it went back as far as 1976. Your thoughts on the outbreak seem more credible than some of what I read or hear in the media, not that that is so surprising. Good to hear comments from someone who actually knows these regions well.
